“Giving this place a solid 5 for overall experienceI stopped by Junction for lunch with a friend and this was my first time here.I got a bit overwhelmed at first because they have a few different menus and also one posted on the wall.I proceeded to ask the waitress what her favorite dishes were and she said “there’s a lot that I like” I liked her response because It means she tried a lot of the dishes and there really isn’t much you could go wrong with. She began going into detail about the different dishes and that made me feel really comfortable because while she was explaining I was reading the menu and she was spot on. She spoke with so much passion I was excited to enjoy my meal.We ordered a set of wings, the drunken fish combo and the $5 happy hour punch. & not to mention there Happy Hour is Monday- Friday 11-8pm! I love It here! lolI like my wing fried hard which they weren’t but they were cooked well. The fish sandwich was HUGE & crunch my on the outside but soft on the inside. The fries were my favorite- so tasty.The drink was not your typical rum punch which was a nice touch but was definitely not expecting that.I would definitely come again and maybe next time try some of the baked goods!Kid-friendliness: Kids are definitely welcomed!“

Aside from the food which was near perfect, the ambiance is very unique outside dining in a semi enclosed courtyard, railyard bar, and dining in a lodge-like room with fireplace. Some of my favorite dishes were the veggies, surprising because I'm more of a meat eater. Cocktails were excellent but do ask the bartender since not all liquor is documented. Wine list is extensive“
“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

From 1st picture my welcome cocktail all the way to final cocktail and wine in between 2nd picture to 1st course caviar bigger purse with no silverware 3rd picture to 2nd to last course truffle ice cream with all the toppings, including caviar My words don’t do this dining event Justice. “5 out of 5 stars, this three story restaurant is interestingly unnoticeable but I’m glad I was invited here to experience it. It sits next to an open air lot which is definitely needed on H St. The food was amazing, I had the sea bass, plantains, salad, and cassava fries (can’t remember what they were called) and everything was so good. The staff was efficient and friendly and the chef came out to speak with us and it amazing to see that he’s native DC and young he is. I definitely recommend this place for dinner. I wish I paused to take pictures but maybe next time.“

“I did a take out of their delicious Aloo and piyaz pakoras for our Iftari a week or so ago. The packaging was great which included a generous amount of their tasty green chutney. “Loved dining at Nina May’s for Easter Brunch! Made the reservation quite last minute but we were still able to snag a table for two at one of D.C’s best restaurants! We were also late on our res. due to easter traffic and finding parking around the place but the host was very accommodating and nice. We got the chef’s choice and everything was amazing! Super fresh and the flavors all worked really well together. I also got the cucumber mocktail which was really good! Our server was attentive and really went the extra mile to fix a small mishap (we got to try the amazing carrot cake, on the house!!! it was splendid!!!!). Will definitely be back since they have a seasonal menuParking: Parking is quite limited as most of the streets surrounding this restaurant are restricted/limited to zone/permit holders which seems to be a theme in D.C. I had originally booked a flight, only to have to change it to a la carte in order to make dinner reservations. I wish we had cancelled dinner and stayed at barmini! Every aspect was incredible.Starting off, before we even arrived, with personalized contact from Brian to ensure that they knew everything from our names, if it was special occasion, dietary restrictions, etc. It was clear they wanted to make sure it was a special experience for us before we even stepped foot in the restaurant.On arrival the environment was incredible and the whole staff was friendly and consistently went out of their way to make the evening memorable.The food was, of course, incredible. “Ellie Bird has been on our list to try since they opened. Like their sister restaurant Rooster & Owl, the menu is both refined and rustic, with an emphasis on small plates great for sharing. We went for dinner and ordered the bread basket, spring green salad, Vietnamese french onion soup, salted cod rangoons, pomelo larb, braised lamb shank and chocolate cake. The pineapple buns are a carry over from Rooster & Owl that I’d happily eat with every meal. The Vietnamese french soup is aptly named, a wonderful combination of richly aromatic braised oxtail broth reminiscent of a fabulous pho with the oniony, cheesy, crouton goodness of a classic french onion. The rangoons are a perfect execution of an American Thai staple and the pomelo larb burst with flavor. The lamb shank, expertly cooked and glazed, was easily split between the two of us and sat on a bed of herbaceous tabouleh.A delay in getting us to our seats at the chefs counter resulted in several comped plates throughout the meal and we were very grateful for the above and beyond. The asparagus and pine berry salad added to our starter course was a true delight, who knew they were such a good pair!I’ll be interested to see how the restaurant continues to evolve. While Rooster & Owl remains our go-to for special occasions, we will absolutely come back to Ellie Bird with friends and family in tow and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.“
“We went out for my friend’s birthday dinner to Hank’s and the food and service was amazing! We brought our dog Frank with us as well and the staff loved him and brought out some water ❤️ The drinks were fantastic, we got the mango marg and a spicy marg, both were so good. The hushpuppies were to die for and the manager brought out some orange blossom honey for us to pour over which was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. We also got the Lobster deviled eggs, again—so good, and the fish and chips, mussels, and eastern shore crab dip. Everything was amazing and fresh, they tell you where each oyster is caught which I loved. So good, I’m gonna be thinking about this place for forever!“

“The food here is AMAZING. I'm actually glad this place is far from me and on the expensive side because if it was closer and cheaper I'd be eating here constantly. My table got the waygu egg rolls, Mac and cheese, broccolini, Hawaiian steak, jerk crab cakes, and the jerk lollipop chicken. All of it was on point. Drinks are pretty expensive for what you get. That was probably the only disappointment. Music is a little loud for my liking but it is a minor nit in an absolutely amazing experience.“

The food is excellent, the service is impeccable, and the sommeliers are incredible (really, ask them anything about any of the wines). We both had the chef's tasting with the wine pairing and were perfectly satiated at the end. The portions are on-point. We told our waiter the occasion we were celebrating and anyone who visited our table expressed congratulations and brought an extra special complimentary dessert at the end. We had a 7:00 reservation and arrived a bit early so we were able to watch the ducks come back to the pond as the gloaming fell and it was kinda magical. We'll definitely be back.“
