“The tomato soup was killer good. The cheese platter was HUGE (was really surprised, I stay in a lot of hotels and the portions here are great). One of the best dinners at a hotel. It's not gourmet food but it's solid tasty food at a good price in a large quantity.“

They each had unique and unexpected flavorings that challenged any preconceived ideas we had, they were each unique and the flavor profiles worked across them. I would go back and try separate offerings.“

“Our son lives in the area and we have been here 4-5 since January ( every time we visit) The owners are wonderful and the staff very attentive The fish taco appetizer is wonderful ( can be enough for an entree if not wanted a big meal) I’ve had many of the entrees and never a bad meal . All portions more than met the price point, and the flavors were amazing. Complex but finely woven in a way that didn't interfere with enjoying the other foods ordered. “Food, service, and atmosphere were all good. Scallops I had were delicious. Non-sweet iced tea was fine. Asparagus was surprisingly good and crisp. Mashed potatoes were fine. The restaurant interior was nice and clean. The layout was less than ideal. Traveling to bathroom takes you past a semi open kitchen. Just odd.“

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.“

“Haven't been here in around 3-4 years but was pleasantly surprised by the food here. Tried the Chilean Seabass and the pork chop and enjoyed them. Ambiance inside was nice for a group setting. Our server was very kind and was very accommodating for my Mothers birthday. Only gripe I had was a 22% service fee for parties of 6 or more which is a little higher than standard.“

Stopped in here for brunch with a 1PM reservation on a Saturday. Party of three. We opted for bottomless mimosas (pineapple and cranberry). Our waitress(es) were a delight and attentive - Shoutout to DeLo! My two friends opted for the breakfast burrito while I had steak and eggs. The potatoes were seasoned well and the steak was cooked to my preferred doneness. Since it's a bistro they did not have steak sauce - however they offered me other options which included a mushroom gravy type sauce which paired so well with the steak. I would return just for that combination. I didn't see too many reviews for brunch so I wanted to provide some pictures for that. It's a small space with cute esthetic. It reminds me of a nice remote working coffee shop vibe. I cannot wait to return!“

Everyone from host to chefs made me feel like a star. The bar staff, servers, the atmosphere, and the chefs!!! Top tier and would highly recommend!!! Not only was the service excellent…talk about hospitality on a 100! But the FOOD!!! I mean I would’ve been a happy camper just on the drinks from the bar (gotta try the FORWARD drink!! Whew!) and the service alone, but the FOOD?! We were treated to a five course, and every single bite, morsel that I tasted sent every bit of my taste buds to heaven!! I consider myself a picky eater but none of that mattered. If you’re a connoisseur of fine dining…you CANNOT miss THE DABNEY! I salute the CHEFS!!“

Our server was detailed, thorough, and thoughtful. Our drinks were delicious and the food was incredible. We shared their proprietary oysters and all loved them! Whenever I'm back in DC, I'll be returning for sure!“

“We loved having dinner so much on Friday night that we had lunch on Saturday! Lobster roll was delicious. Great selection of raw oysters. PEI mussels were the best! Service was on point. Friday night Ashley was great and sorry I didn’t get our great servers name on Saturday. Manager Ronald Vasquez was so personable and made us feel like regulars. Wish we lived a bit closer because we would be. Highly recommend!“

“I’ve been coming to proper for maybe close to two years now. They have my favorite food item in all of DC (Birria Eggrolls that I highly recommend) and the kindest bartenders and servers. They make me nonalcoholic versions of beverages so that I can try them if I ask (shout out to Molly). Everyone that works at this location is so sweet and helpful and give the best recommendations. Recently went for a couple of the World Cup games and they were swamped but still did their best. So proud of you all and will continue coming as long as I am in DC.“

“We came here after the nationals game and Dylan was our server and it was his best experience ever. My husband had the liver and onions and I had the cob salad and it was delicious. My sister-in-law had the avocado salad. I would come here at 10 out of 10 a time every single time and don’t forget to ask for Dylan as your waiter. It was amazing. And order the Mojito!“
