“This spot on H St Corridor is hands down my favorite. The drinks, service, and food consistently impress. The ambiance is wonderfully moody with dim lighting and great background music. I always opt for the vegan version of the beef noodles, which are consistently flavorful and delicious. The bartenders are not only friendly but also knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations. I appreciate that they maintain an accessible archive of past menus, allowing guests to order from a wide range of drink options. Despite its small size and the place sometimes getting crowded, outdoor seating and an extra bar on the back patio provide additional space.“

“This is intelligent and well thought-out food that is delivered with kindness and engagement. Truffle dumplings with a corn foam were genius. Terrific vegetarian drunken noodles. And silken tofu in a complex fermented black-bean broth that made me see through time. My wife's cocktail had a tiny touch of a Chinese cough syrup in it, which sounds funky and was, instead, kinda transcendent! We sat at the bar and watched the passionate precision of the kitchen. Bartender was super friendly. Great evening that we hope to repeat soon. Keep up the great work!!“

“Amazing location for private events. Staff was very professional and provided great service. We enjoyed the ability to have a customized menu with themed drink names and a great array of food options including passed appetizers and buffet style serving. Our guests loved the atmosphere and vibe of the venue. Thank you Bar Chinois for helping us have a successful event!“

“An interesting take on Chinese cuisine, definitely worth trying! Everything was delicious, the staff were friendly and professional…But including 22% service fee is ridiculous!!! Why don’t you just pay salaries to your staff, guys? It’s absolutely fine to include wages in to the prices - they are not that small, btw!PS Ribs and wings were awesome ??“

“Dim sum is brought out from the kitchen rather than served from steam carts going around the restaurant. As for the taste and quality, they depend on what item you order. I liked the bean curd roll and the shrimp stuffed tofu but the fried chive dumplings were gummy. Prices start at $5.25 per order and go up to over $10. The service was pleasant but weekends are extremely busy here.“

“We enjoyed our meal of soup dumplings, Dan Dan Noodles and Spicy Fish Soup, The noodles were fresh and just spicy enough. We saw quite a few other things on the menu we are looking forward to trying. The server was friendly and helpful. I don't love the i-pad ordering system, but more of a personal preference than an issue. My only other feedback is that as a Chinese restaurant they need a better hot tea service. They didn't have any standard Chinese teas - not even a bag of green tea.“

“This place is so fun if you love a variety of Asian foods, and this evening I happened to walk in on a fantastic live jazz band playing by the bar. Last time, we had Korean tacos and tempura, this time I’m having croffles, miso soup, and spaghetti. (I know it’s weird but it’s all so delicious)“

“I had a random craving for Chinese one night so I took a leap of faith and tried China Cafe Carryout for the first time, due to its reviews and I was not disappointed.I ordered the orange chicken, white rice, and a egg roll and my cravings were well satisfied. They did not hold back on the portion size either. I had enough for dinner and lunch the next day. My only issue was they only accepted cash. As someone who doesn't carry cash, I became discouraged but strangely enough, they accepted CashApp so I was able to pay for my food. There was a ATM inside the restaurant also though I had no intention in using it. I highly recommend though! Just remember, if you don't have CashApp or aren't comfortable with using a random ATM, then take cash!“

I called in my order, everything was correct and it was ready when I got there to pick it up. I've had there food before and I have never been disappointed . “About time I review CHIKO. They recently reopened Barracks Row location for inside dining, and I’m thrilled. I’ve been coming here pretty regularly since they opened back in 2017, and it’s definitely one of my favorite spots in DC. My favorite dishes are the brisket and confit duck fried rice, but everything on the menu is fantastic. If you see something new (and you will), give it a shot because they definitely put a lot of creative energy and care into their dishes.Oh yeah, and their take out bags are adorbs.“

“I've been looking for a good spot for the last two years and I think I found it. Food is good, customer service is great! I'm so happy that the chicken doesn't taste like rubber (like other places) and the food has flavor-I've really been missing out. I'm so happy and totally recommend anyone to come here. Great food!“

“Coming from the West Coast, I didn't know there was a difference in how people do Chinese takeout/carry out. I usually wouldn't order wings and fries at a Chinese place but now I will be every time I can! The mambo sauce is a game changer! The wings and fries are crispy and delicious. We also got Lo Mein and you can't go wrong with that. They gave generous portions and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!“

“Exactly what I want out of my casual Asian dining. Small place, unassuming, and old looking menu often mean the food is about to be great. We got the pork dumplings and pork buns. Both were packed with flavor. The chili sauce on the table was spicy enough to bring one single tear to my eye, perfect. Wish it wasn't cash only and that they had some music playing so it wasn't so quiet, but overall great experience and would recommend.“

“Visited DC for a few days and this place looked cool. Didn’t know what to expect but since it was cold we decided to try it out. We had the beef pull noodle and it was so good! Also it’s really nice to see them make the noodles in front of you. We also ate the pork soup dumplings, wonton soup, and brown sugar latte. Everything was good and warm! For sure want to try out the burger next time I’m in DC.“

“Fun menu for a quick bite. There is limited seating inside.Vegetarian options: There are several items that do not have meat.Parking: There is rarely anywhere to park in the district, so plan accordingly. Walk, bike, bus, ride the subway, or use a car service.Kid-friendliness: Not all that kid-friendly unless you have an adventurous eater. There are a few things that should be appealing to kids though.“

“Loud, yes. But it is okay. A party atmosphere. You sit close to others, but everyone talking fully mitigates that. Fun atmosphere. Not for a quiet romantic dinner, yet the digs and accroutrements are top notch. Place is popular for 3-6 drinks with dinner!“

“We ordered Sour Vegetable Fish Soup, Stir Fry Bok Choy, and Green Pepper Chicken (rice is complimentary) for three people and we were stuffed to the brim. Note there are not many space or tables around (only 3) to dine in at the restaurant. Hence we did take out instead. Great substitute for Szechuan Great Wall which unfortunately closed down a few weeks ago. This is the closest that one can come to authentic chinese food in the district. Would love to try other dishes in the future.“

“I've ordered from this place sooo much. I always get the sashimi, I usually get the sashimi platter. This last time I got the sashimi appetizer + vegetable dumplings. I have learned that this is one of the sushi places that plays with the term, "white fish." Some places use it for white tuna, some use it for yellowtail etc. I got the sushimi appetizer as it was advertised as salmon, tuna, and white fish--my favorites, except not the white fish I wanted lol. This was more translucent, and half-pink. That was my gamble. Can't really tell what the white sashimi I get in the platter is, I think its white tuna, but I won't make the mistake again.Nice, solid slices of shaved ginger. Good if you're sick! I do wish the sashimi came with a condiment cup like the veggie dumplings did. Veggie dumplings were fine, nice and plump. Also love that the place is open late--I've been a night owl my whole life, so works for me!5 stars overall. I've only been in-person once, and it was very pleasant. You need to be let in, which doesn't take long. Lots of randos wandering around Chinatown so I get it.“

“So tasty, what a gem!! I ordered the CURRY LAKSA NOODLE Soup, pictured. It can be all plant based - I asked for mushrooms, spinach and broccoli to be added/substituted for the chicken, and with no hesitation they accommodated me! I'm so pleased with this Union Station fast casual option, located on the second level. If you take the stairs opposite the Amtrak ticket counter, you'll find it with big open air seating. This dish also includes tofu, vegetables, rice sticks & egg noodle combination in a coconut curry broth, with bean sprouts, fresh! green beans, and corn. Amazing, and spicy warm. They have non spicy foods, too. I'll upload the current menu.“

“We've been eating here for over 20 years and it has always been good. It is recently under new management and the way some items are prepared has changed, but still very tasty -- just a new twist on an old favorite. The one thing the new management needs is someone who knows their way around a bar. The people there this week had a very limited range of knowledge about drinks (gin on the rocks got a blank look), but once you explained they happily made a very acceptable drink.“

“I love this place and the food is gread. I've been coming here since I was in high school. It's been a long time and I always ordered chicken wing. Very friendly woman. 10 out of 10 recommend.“

“Definitely a no frills spot but our service was great and the food was decent. We unfortunately came right after the lunch special time but it was still pretty good. Got the tofu and vegetables with rice. It wasn’t super sweet like some dishes like this tend to be which I really enjoyed. Definitely want to try some of the rest of their menu. It’s not really meant for dine in but we ate there with our containers. The mooncakes look delicious, definitely want to go back for those!“

“Wow!! Absolutely delicious food! I don’t usually have high expectations with unlimited dimsum, so we were pleasantly surprised! The food quality was very good, and so tasty. Not watered down American dimsum, tasted like authentic Hong Kong style cooking! I highly recommend the panfried seafood noodles, roast pork buns, roast bbq pork, snow peas, and duck ? Our server Chen was super attentive, timing all our dishes right when we were ready for the next round, very amiable, and gave overall great customer service! The place is on the small side, but is very tastefully decorated. Can’t wait to go back!Kid-friendliness: They have reduced prices for kids.“

“Ordered a chicken cheesesteak, General Tso's chicken and beef fried rice. The absolute BEST chicken cheesesteak I've had in a long time. Soft roll, fresh lettuce and tomato and good portion. “I wanted to share my thoughts on the food and service at ST⭐️R carryout is A1. Overall, I have to say that I love it. The quality of the food and the level of service are exceptional. “Service was great and people were friendly. We went out of our way to try this place in hopes of finding “better”, but the food was not any different than any other take out Chinese food we’ve had and this place seemed more expensive. The thing I like most is their mambo sauce for wings- very good. We would probably go back if we were in the area.“

“Delicious wings. Came here twice. I ordered the honey j*** and honey lemon pepper wings which are delicious. I also ordered the fried rice. It tastes like Spanish rice in a box and it isn't that great. On my second visit, I played it safe and ordered fries. Very satisfied. This place is much better than America's Best Wings next door in both quality and taste.“

“Ok now this is the greatest Chinese restaurant in the DMV area. I have lived in the DMV pretty much my entire life & have eaten at dozens of Chinese restaurants and I still say that Jacky Chans is the best. Been coming to this spot almost 20 years now & it is STILL top notch. The French Fries alone will tell you about the quality of food here. Make sure you get the chicken wings with french fries and add salt pepper & mumbo sauce on everything. This is the classic that everyone should start out with.
