“I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.“

“Ninja Sushi should be packed on a Friday evening. The Japanese food they serve is healthy and delicious. Our waitress was exceptional served us a plate of crunchy crab on the house. The only disappointment was the seafood soup. We both enjoyed the salmon shrimp, tempura calamari, and sumptuous, creamy cheesecake. We were surprised at the amount of food we got for under $50. I highly recommend this unpretentious, family friendly restaurant in Colesville.“

“Hidden Gem (at least I didn’t know about it lol) I happened upon it and decided to give it a shot. I was the only diner so I had the place to myself.
Solid sushi without the pomp and circumstance. Volcano roll was good!
Will go here regularly.“

“Don't underestimate this sushi spot inside the food hall The Roost. It's worth your time. Creating many sushi options, you can't go wrong. Preferring less "fishy" sushi, they have great veggie options and ones with shrimp and crab meat. Order and within a few minutes you'll get a plate of sushi with soy sauce and all the fixings.“

“The place was small, cute, and charming. True mom and pop shop, the owners were so kind and doting. Tried the Bibimbap bowl and the mint lemonade and it did NOT disappoint. The owner and the cook herself, even mixed the Bibimbap for us. It felt like eating dinner at Grandma's house, and I can't wait to go back!“

“I chose Akeno Sushi to celebrate my bachelorette weekend, and I couldn’t have made a better choice! It’s my absolute favorite restaurant in DC, and this experience just confirmed why it’s one of my top spots. From start to finish, the staff was incredibly warm, accommodating, and genuinely thrilled to help us celebrate. Nadia, in particular, was a joy to work with and supported me every step of the way in planning. The food was phenomenal, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The drinks were equally impressive, featuring thoughtful details like fresh flowers that added a special touch to the celebration. The ambiance was perfect, with lovely decorations that made the night feel even more festive. Whether you’re planning a special event, a casual dinner, or a date night, Akeno Sushi is versatile, delicious, and always delivers a memorable experience. I highly recommend it!“

“This really cute little Japanese shop was a great experience. On the simple side, but sushi was delicious and my friends enjoyed their food as well (one got chicken soup, and one got chicken teriyaki noodles). The workers were also very welcoming and nice, especially when they learned it was our first time coming to eat there. Reasonable priced, will be back again :)“
“This is a great place to shop as a vegan. They have so many vegan products. They have so many delicious vegan options at their food bar too. I love how you can get a healthy vegan meal at a relatively decent price when on the go. They also have lots of vegan options in thier bakery like vegan muffins, scones, donuts, turnovers, and cookies. This is one of my favorite places to grab a quick meal.“

“I’ve had my eye on this place for a while, and I’m so glad I finally stopped by for lunch—it was absolutely amazing! The food and service were on another level. We ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai, Kapow Goong Gai, and the Maryland Crab Roll, and every dish was bursting with flavor. Our waiter, Steve, was incredible—so kind and personable. He not only gave us fantastic food and travel tips for our upcoming trip to Thailand but also taught us how to pronounce and order some of the dishes we loved. It was such a thoughtful touch! I’m already looking forward to my next visit and can’t recommend this spot highly enough. Plus, it’s super convenient, located right next to the Stadium-Armory metro station. A must-visit!“

“Kruba DC (Navy Yard) is incredible in EVERYTHING THEY DO! First and foremost some of the most incredible fish selections and quality (I wonder if they get their fish locally or from Japan like some of the high end omakase restaurants in DC!) we’ve had at a non $$$$$ level. Their Thai dishes were spectacular and the best we’ve had in a very long time (coming from a family who relocated from HI). Everything we ordered was a HIT: fried calamari, crab Rangoon, tuna TaTaki, Edamame, Penang chicken, drunken noodles beef, pad see ew shrimp and Nigiri (tuna, white tuna, yellowtail, fatty yellow tail, salmon (all compete with high end or island quality fish!) ). I seriously cannot recommend this place MORE and my entire family waits our next visit! Last but not least it was a very comfy and cute spot with incredible and fast service!“

“Definitely a great rooftop place to go it's a little small and crowded because it's more like a pen outsetting however when it gets warm the view over the water is very beautiful I enjoyed my pan fried shrimp dumplings in my Wall Street Maki sushi. It's expensive though“

“I got the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was rich. The slices of pork were fresh, juicy, tender, slightly sweet, and abundant. There were at least 6 slices in that bowl. The assortment of vegetables and narutomaki added unique, delicious tastes and textures to the dish. Their food presentation is perfect. You'd have to see it to believe it. The ramen actually looks like it's straight out of those food commercials and restaurant food posters. All in all, it's a great place to eat.“

“GREAT value— 50% off sushi after 7pm (from $10.5 to $5.25)!!! The tuna and salmon avocado rolls are delish and $10.5 or 50% off before closing (if there are any left).
The stickers are SUPER CUTE and $1 each!
They also offer great drinks (craft yuzu soda, topo chico, boba tea etc.)
♿️ Union Market’s entrance is accessible, but tables are mostly high top (low tables by the window and outside) and the aisles are crowded most of the day. Also good lighting. Very loud.

“I've ordered from this place sooo much. I always get the sashimi, I usually get the sashimi platter. This last time I got the sashimi appetizer + vegetable dumplings. I have learned that this is one of the sushi places that plays with the term, "white fish." Some places use it for white tuna, some use it for yellowtail etc. I got the sushimi appetizer as it was advertised as salmon, tuna, and white fish--my favorites, except not the white fish I wanted lol. This was more translucent, and half-pink. That was my gamble. Can't really tell what the white sashimi I get in the platter is, I think its white tuna, but I won't make the mistake again.Nice, solid slices of shaved ginger. Good if you're sick! I do wish the sashimi came with a condiment cup like the veggie dumplings did. Veggie dumplings were fine, nice and plump. Also love that the place is open late--I've been a night owl my whole life, so works for me!5 stars overall. I've only been in-person once, and it was very pleasant. You need to be let in, which doesn't take long. Lots of randos wandering around Chinatown so I get it.“

“Horu Sushi is the best sushi in a large radius, highly recommend to anyone who loves sushi. The eel roll is my current favorite. It’s the best vendor in Le Fantome Food Hall and we are so spoiled to have this level of taste in our neighborhood.
We also love their ramen which is legit
You can even go for happy hour at the bar and eat the sushi there with your drink!
Kid-friendliness: My daughter loves the dumplings and ramen“

“Khin’s Sushi gets my vote for tasty sushi at reasonable prices. Khin’s is in an odd space. They share their small and minimal dining area with a pizza place. Khin’s also sells gelato. It’s a weird one-stop-shop for all things lunch. But I digress. We tried a variety of basic sushi like their California roll. It was all good. The rolls were not huge. But we enjoyed them. The service is a bit gruff. And the ambiance is pure 80’s fast food. But forget about all of that. Go in, grab some sushi while your spouse/partner/friend grabs a slice. And enjoy a good meal together. We will return.“

“Food was made quickly and was super fresh. The taste was excellent. This was my first time here, I always see my friends getting it as take out and decided to bring my family to try it. We really enjoyed it. Only thing constructive, I will say is that their appetizers weren't worth the money, but the main dishes were excellent ?“

“I watched a co-worker having what I referred to as "a food fantasy". They recommended this particular location for its service and food. My waze directed me to the location which is adjacent to the JCPENNEY parking lot in a strip with 2 other businesses.I arrived midday and was welcomed by a pleasant woman near the door. Within 5-10 minutes my meal was prepared which was a combo of teriyaki chicken and shrimp with veggies, noodles, green onions, sesame seeds and extra sauce. The staff was very pleasant and appeared to work well together as a team. The portions were generous and I would definitely eat there again. After I got home I too had "a food fantasy". My vegetables were perfectly cooked, not hard or overcooked. The meats were tender, fresh and flavorable.I have since eaten at two other locations and have come back to this one for a new combo. This time I added steak and the next time I will add salmon which came highly recommended by many people.I would definitely recommend this location, the service and the food options.
Parking: In front of the business are several parking spaces. The overflow lot of JCPENNEY is available as well.“

“Best alternative to chain fast food inside L'Enfant.A typical breakfast & lunch grill, plus espresso bar, plus sushi bar, plus pay-by-weight hot & cold buffet. Staff are nice, efficient, ambitious, and above par for hygiene. 3 star difficulty, 4 star execution. But it's 4 business in 1.They've been better than most about pandemic safety. Well masked, and always asked customers to do so also. Looks like they've closed their dining area (?). Paused self service beverage (looks like they're bringing back limited buffet). For a while, they did the cooking in the back kitchen, but they're back on the line out front again. Offices are still largely on telework and tourism is down. Otherwise, it would crowd easily.L'Enfant mall does not have good air flow, so it might feel a little close in the best of times.“

“I have had gastro issues for about a week, and I have had a hard time eating without feeling sick or running to the bathroom, however since I started feeling better today I have been craving Pho. My boyfriend was in the area and decided to stop for a Poke bowl and noticed that there was Pho on the menu so he got me the combination and it was delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, the meat cuts were tender, and the veggies were crisp and fresh. I’m looking forward to trying more entrees, but if nothing else I know the Pho is good.“

“I’ve never ordered from here before, and I’m so glad that I did! I got a shrimp egg roll and orange chicken. It feels silly to review an egg roll, but this one was so much better than what you normally get at Chinese takeout places. The wrapper was crispy but not over-fried, and the filling was robust. The orange chicken was also delightful, albeit on the salty side. High quality chicken chunks, a decent amount of tender-crisp broccoli, and the sauce wasn’t overwhelming or gloppy. Even the rice was well made! Will be ordering again!“
