“Fun food court with great selection. The sushi was ok. Salmon Skin Roll turned out to be the star. The dosa, however, was absolutely delicious!Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian sushi options, many dosa options that were vegan or vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Dosa shop clearly labeled gluten and dairy free as well as vegan options.Kid-friendliness: Funky, causal, and loud.“
“Attended great performance by dueling piano duet at this location. Got premium tickets, and we were seated at the table right next to the scene. Ordered drinks and food and enjoyed the music. Helpful staff and good environment. Food was reasonably priced for location. Parking is either at the building (limited), across the building, or around the corner on old Georgetown rd. Overall, it was a good experience.“
“I had Ethiopian cuisine on my bucket list for real long time, but since I couldn't find much time to visit any Ethiopian restaurant in New York city, I decided to go ahead with the one in Washington DC!Initially, I was a bit hesitant to order the meat dishes since my last adventure with African cuisine wasn't a great one. Glad that Ethiopians have a good amount of vegetables in their diet which helped me make a safe and easy choice to go with!I went ahead with their traditional veggie platter, which consisted of 2 vegetables, 2 lentil dishes and a salad served over Injera( basically the Ethiopian version of dosa: An Indian dish and a much softer one instead of crispy). The vegetables served were cluster beans along with cabbage and potato. The cluster beans felt right out of my home kitchen whereas the potato was undercooked in the cabbage one! The two lentil dishes served out of which one was the spicy one and the other not spicy. I loved both of them. Honestly, I never thought it would be so close to traditional Indian cuisine as a result I also let the server know the same. The server was pretty friendly and was happy to guide me through their menu while providing quick service. The restaurant though feels like a homely vibe with close seating and the ambiance being that of a family home.Overall, an amazing experience for me with interesting thing being it felt like having a home cooked meal rather than eating at a restaurant!“
“Tashawn made my friend and I’s experience 10Xs better than it already was. He was attentive, charming, and funny! Not only were the lemon ricotta pancakes and truffle fries amazing, the overall experience was as well! Def recommend The Pembroke for brunch ???“
“I thought that for the price, the food and service were very good. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate a walk-in for weekend brunch. The hostess was very polite and the servers were very attentive. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms which were very nice compared to a lot of restaurants in DC. For a restaurant I had not heard of prior to visiting, I was pleasantly surprised!“
“I really wanted to give a 5 star review because the food was incredible, however the service was slow for the price point. Plus, the 4% surcharge added onto the bill is deceptive. Our waiter explained that instead of raising their menu prices, they just tack on the fee. However, it’s not clear on the menu what exactly this fee goes towards. Why not just raise the price by $2 and stop fooling customers?I’d come back for the food for take away or to sit outside- the inside was cramped and very loud.“
“As a somewhat regular at the Tombs and having dined at a few of the many Clyde's Restaurants, I can honestly say that my expectations were nowhere near as high as to the level of quality that my friends and I enjoyed tonight at the 1789. In a word it was simply "AMAZING". The service was flawless, there were there when we needed them and mysteriously disappeared when we were set. Sometimes in fine dining the service staff can be hovering over us like Seagulls on the prowl at the Jersey Shore. We took our time to consume three courses and an enjoy a few libations. The dining room is intimate and inviting the fireplace was lit aglow, warm and comforting to sit by. The menu is adventurous but not contrived or so esoteric that we needed to google explanations so that we might navigate our choices. Presentations were elegant and simple with the emphasis on execution. Unlike so many trendy new places around DC seem to be awash in multiple concoctions that involve far too many syllables. The flavors were on point and the kitchen showed a prowess that must only come as a notice that it's all about the taste, the freshness and the seasonality that we find ourselves in. The New Bedford Seared Sea Scallops were delicious, plump and sweet. And the accompanying sauce just perfectly paired with the Scallops. The Escargot garlicky and salty. The only ever so slight misstep was with the Grilled Octopus, a wee tad rubbery possibly didn't poach long or slow enough to tenderize the tentacles before they were finished on the Grill. Our Entrees were all eagerly passed around the table and there was unanimous agreement that all four were perfect. We sampled the Lamb, the Halibut, Duck and the Wagu Short-ribs, whose taste and tenderness took me back to a similar experience 30 years ago at a small French Cafe in Newport. In my Humble opinion this entire experience was undoubtedly the finest meal I've ever been served in our Nations Capital. Reservations are almost always a must but trust me it is indeed worth the wait. Everyone got dessert because we were all part of the Clean Plate Club. Of particular note was the 1789 Pastry Chef's interpretation of Classic Carrot Cake. Reservations are highly recommended and be assured that you will leave with a delicious taste in your mouth and an overwhelming urge to plan your return to the "1789".“
“Have stopped in twice, both times for the Happy Hour in the first floor bar area. The drinks have been excellent and the bartenders attentive. The food options for the HH are varied and each dish was satisfying and unique. Highlights are the soup dumplings, pork belly, and khachapuri breads (cannot go wrong with any of the varieties). I haven’t tried for a standard dinner but the tastings I’ve had and service make this a great spot. Street parking only if you’re driving, but the neighborhood is solid and you shouldn’t have too much issue.“
“DCFray Volleyball is awesome! Great atmosphere, facilities (including refs!) and organization. Shout-out to William Dennis who helped us with signing up for a more competitive league, without whom we would have left to play in other leagues. Shows that he cares for the teams that play in them“
“I can't say enough great things about Lutece. My wife and I shared one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in DC there recently. The food was sublime (duck confit tagliatelle was my personal favorite). The wine service was impeccable. The staff was super chill yet very attentive. And the atmosphere was perfect for the moment. We sat at one of the high top kitchen tables, which I highly recommend. We'll be back for sure.“
“Spectacular flavors! We saw the great reviews and were not let down. By far the best octopus I've ever had. Everything - dolmas, greek salad, seafood pasta - was incredible. Absolutely traveling back to eat here again to explore more of the menu.“
“Absolutely outstanding. Cannot recommend The Little Grand highly enough. Their pizza is the best in the DC area and their service and atmosphere are incredible as well. Straightforward and thoughtful menu and the staff are more than happy to help you determine the best options for your taste, just ask. Cocktails are awesome and the wine list is focused and always interesting. Definitely check it out.Parking: Always parking available on the side streets.Kid-friendliness: Great with kids. Very welcoming atmosphere for families, especially early in the evening.“
“Rooftop dance parties with DC's hottest DJs and our famous Bell Shot Challenge are just the beginning. Come see for yourself what a true DC party experience looks like!SALAZAR is a playground for the night owl and a place where the night is always young and the fun never stops.Located on the bustling 14th Street corridor, SALAZAR offers an oasis for those who love tequila and tacos. The large space features four bars, including two on the rooftop, one on the main floor under the iconic DRINK TEQUILA DAILY neon grass wall and one in the large basement, where the DJ holds court and dancing on the banquettes is not only encouraged but expected. You haven't had a DC party experience unless you've thrown an ice shot at our giant rooftop bell and there's no judgement if you need to do a second or third to win the challenge. There is never a cover and we have DJs on weekend nights, all day on Saturday for our day parties and on holidays.Large groups are always welcome here, with a variety of private and semi-private spaces available for groups. They don't believe in room fees and the booking process is as stressful as possible.Whether it's for daily happy hour, bottomless margaritas at brunch, Taco Tuesday, late night Thursday specials or on the dance floor, they hope to raise a glass with you soon.“
“What a gem! Went with two girlfriends, we spent a fantastic evening. Comfy, service was wonderful, and food might be the best Ethiopian I’ve had after living in Silver Spring for twenty years.Definitely worth the little detour from the main drag!“
“My friend and I both had excellent meals, wonderful service, and just truly enjoyed the jazz Friday, which is free! And I understand they're going to be doing this now on Fridays and Saturdays! Will definitely be going back; this is my go to restaurant. “Greet food and drinks served, friends found.”“
“Fun place with great food! You wouldn't think eating ants would work but it does!Get the Gorditas or the ceviche to start and then the tacos. Al pastor and the Chicatanas are outstanding. The ants don't add much flavor. Just a satisfying crunch“
“My wife and I had dinner on our anniversary and the food and service was outstanding. The menu is full of outstanding options and the atmosphere and vibe is great for date night or dinner with friends. Definitely one of the best restaurants in DC!“
“If I could give this place 100/5 I would. Went for a drink, stayed for 3 hours. Luke is the best bartender both in the drinks he makes but also helping find the right cocktail for your mood. Even gave us a few small samples of the drinks on tap to try beforehand.GET THE RHUBARB SODA it might change your life. Most of the people at the bar with us were locals and regulars. Very cute decor as well.Small spot so limited seating. If you want to go for dinner recommend getting a reservation ahead of time.If I lived here I’d have my name engraved on a stool.“
“Beautiful restaurant overlooking the water, outstanding service, and amazing seafood. I had read some of the reviews that were less than stellar but everything that we ordered was fantastic. We started off with their eggplant appetizer, which was full roasted eggplant -- delicious. For the main entree, I was debating between their grilled calamari and the scallops and the server recommended we share a half portion of the calamari and get the scallops. Great recommendation. The scallops were out of this world and a generous portion too. My wife's fish was delicious as well. No complaints about anything. The prices are a bit on the higher side but it's worth it when the food and the ambiance matches expectations. A definite 5 star for me.“
“Great drinks, attentive and fun bartenders in a cool, laid back atmosphere. After experiencing a night of disappointing and overpriced cocktails, this place made all right with the world. I ordered a Paper Plane and it was fantastic. Love this place.“
“The staff is amazing, I want to big up Donovan, he is an amazing waiter, bartender and salesman. I would love to see a “day party” aspect of JP’s upstairs if at all possible. We usually come every Saturday after our Volo games and would love to listen to music and possibly dance after our Volo games, just a thought. Thank You!“
“Vagabond is seriously one of the best places I’ve had dinner so far. My best friend and I came in for dinner and seriously enjoyed the beautiful decor, the food, and the attentive service. We started with the warm, fresh pita and dip trio. I had the Happy Hour Hawaiian Chicken Sliders, and they tasted so fresh and delicious. My friend and I were repeatedly saying, “This is everything”. It was amazing and we will be back“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at elfegne Ethiopian restaurant in d.c and it was a delightful experience. The cozy ambiance and friendly service set the stage for a memorable meal. The Ethiopian dishes were full of flavor and authenticity. I especially loved the injera and tibs – they were cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend elfegne Ethiopian restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Ethiopian cuisine in D.C“
“Me and a friend consistently debate whether or not Jane Jane has the best cocktails in DC. They constantly impress and I love coming back.I love the seasonal rotating drinks and the atmosphere is welcoming and accepting. The only downside is that I wish they would lower the music slightly so I don’t have to yell the entire time.“
“One of the top Detroit Style pizzas in DC. I chose the Mexican Town pizza, and it was really delicious, full of different tastes and tajin spice. The bartender, Adam, was super friendly and fun to talk to. I totally suggest going there for a drink, yummy pizza, and a great conversation with Adam.“
“Excellent beer in a basement that serves a great selection of Belgian and monk-ist beers. Beers are affordable ($8-15), especially because most of them are higher in abv. I didn't have a chance to try the food, but I'd come back to try mussels! Their menu looked intriguing. Service was a typical bar but their seating was very cool chapel pews. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Bartender was efficient and seemed to have quite a few regulars at the bar. Overall a quiet place to have conversations! I'll be back.“
“My students enjoyed lunch at Hawkers for our minimester program callled “Street Food.” Our server, Kay, was incredibly helpful and communicative. The food was phenomenal and each of my teenage students said the experience was unbelievable. We also met Sous Chef Ever who came out to check on us and received a raucous applause from all of us.“
“Yes! I love the concept. I love how it’s a hand made patty and the burger was cooked perfectly. In addition, you have an option to add items to your burger if you do the build your burger option. You can also choose their preselected choices which look really good. I chose to add sautéed onions, bacon, and Italian sausage. I will say although the Italian sausage was good, I wouldn’t add it again; it didn’t hurt the burger overall. You choose your seasoning (I chose basic), sauce (house bbq), lettuce and tomato. I also ordered the seasoned fries (garlic parmesan). I was curious so I asked for the spicy ranch. It was pretty good.“
“The ingredients are top-notch, but if you like or are accustomed to picking up a slice of pizza with your hand, prepare to be disappointed and challenged here because the pies here are consistently limp amd soggy. I live across the street and the few times I have ordered takeout pizza from this place, I go home and finish cooking it in my own oven. It's pretty damn tasty afterwards too.“
“I’ve never heard of this place until today and glad I came. My friends and I tried their burger and it was probably one of the most flavorful burgers I’ve had. Presentation looks like a simple burger but the taste is outstanding. They nailed the beef done medium, their house sauce is balanced, and their bun was great. Their fries were also very crisp and done right. I ordered another burger to-go since it was so good. I’ll be coming back to try the other things on their menu. The owners were also very kind which made the overall experience a good one.“
“We tried Harth last night and are glad we did. It's in the lobby of the McLean Hilton so it's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking. It was not very busy on a Friday night, unlike every other restaurant in Tysons which are overrun with guests. My guess is it's because few people are aware of its existence....and that's what makes it nice (I prefer peace and quiet to crowds when dining). It's a great spot for a date night. The ambiance is wonderful, the service is top notch, the food presentation is stellar, and it was all very tasteful..no need for salt/pepper/condiments. Even the chairs are super comfortable (which is great for my bad back).I think Harth is lovely. We will be back!“
“I've always wanted to try this bar ever since it opened. We came on a Saturday around 9:45/10pm (it closes at 11) and it was very lively! The bar itself is small so it may be hard to get the bartender's attention but when you do, they are very efficient and helpful. There's plenty of seating in the Bryant Street Market food hall, so you can take your drinks away from this boisterous end of the market if you want to have a quiet conversation. We only tried 2 drinks, the mezcal and regular tequila margaritas, on this visit. The menu looks intriguing and I'd want to come back to try a few of their more complex cocktails. The food bites looked good when others ordered them, but they did seem small so you might want to order more if you're hungry or check out other places in the market. They have a happy hour as well, so I'll have to make a return visit to check that out!“
“ChurchKey offers an extensive selection of craft beers, making it a haven for beer enthusiasts. The ambiance is trendy yet relaxed, with dim lighting and a comfortable atmosphere perfect for socializing. The menu features a diverse range of beer styles from local breweries and around the world, ensuring there's something for every palate. The knowledgeable staff are eager to guide patrons through the beer selection, offering recommendations based on taste preferences. Overall, ChurchKey provides a memorable experience for beer lovers seeking quality brews in a lively setting.“
“We went upstairs to the covered and heated rooftop bar. There were tons of board games to choose from so we decided on trivial pursuit. The beer selection here is phenomenal and I tried my first Lagunitas hoppy refresher, a non alcoholic zero calorie sparkling water with the flavor of refreshing hops! It was the flavor of beer without the calories or the alcohol, brilliant! Our bartender was super fast and very friendly. A great spot to check out if you're in the neighborhood.“
“The Fountain Inn is beautifully designed, cocktail lounge, whiskey and craft drinks bar in the upper Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. We came in a group of four and really enjoyed the unique setting, classic decor, their absolute dedication to the bar craft, amazing selection of unusual whiskey and gin, innovative drinks and very knowledgeable service. The Fountain Inn felt perfect for a late night drink, or a before dinner hop-in. The Fountain Inn is a very small and beautiful place with a speakeasy vibe, you definitely need a reservation here. It could get loud due to it's small size.Service was very helpful and steered each of us toward perfect drink and booze choices! The Fountain Inn is absolutely perfect for trying something new, exploring new brands or flavors of your favorite liquor. “My servers name was Andrew, and he was Fabulous!! His personality mixed with attentiveness and knowledge of spirits, makes him a top notch asset to this restaurant.....Food, drinks, and ambiance made this experience unforgettable. This along with the 5 star service I received from Andrew will definitely make me a repeat guest. And it doesnr hurt that he's handsome!“
“NOT TODDLER FRIENDLY. Vibes are off.Is this a fancy upscale restaurant where you experience a quiet atmosphere, enjoy a duck confit quesadilla (it was ok) and have to make a reservation (they turned away 3 parties when we were sitting at the bar and there were open table.. clearly a mismanaged house or kitchen.OR is this a place to pop in for a pint and a burger after playing tennis or kicking a soccer ball around the park next door? The restaurant is not sure. Neither were we.We guessed it was a pop in place. I wish they had just said “no kids at the bar” or something instead of letting me and my husband and our two kids sit down.No crayons or stickers or anything for kids, though there were Elmo’s around the place and it was decorated with some cool vintage toys.At one point the manager or someone told *me* that my kids (2 and 4) need to “stay in their seats”And that my toddler curiously walking up to another kid at another table was “not appropriate” (there was another toddler also walking around… )Oh and he told me this lol when my *husband* was walking around the restaurant with my kids. Always blame the moms! #patriarchyWill not be going back.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly“
“My fiancé and I had a romantic dinner by the fireplace. The crab dip, butternut squash ravioli and roasted brussel sprouts were amazingly delicious. Service was outstanding. Our waiter told us about the history of the building. We fell more in love that night.“
“I've enjoyed many nights of great music and hanging out with friends at this cool retro tavern with plenty of room for dancing! Top notch musicians love playing here and when they have a night off, they enjoy hearing other great musical acts here because it feels like home. You won't be disappointed--tell them Wolf & Connie sent you here! :-)“
“It is a VIBE!!! Brunch is a plated all you can eat meal. It came with Salmon, jerk wings, eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, Mac and cheese, and French toast. You have to specially request the collard greens and grits. The highlight for me....THE GRITS. Sweet, creamy, and buttery. I enjoyed the rest of the meal as well. I ordered seconds of the man and cheese and breakfast potatoes. The endless mimosas were delicious. We tried the mango, passion fruit, and strawberry flavors. Passion was my favorite. The music was an amazing mix of soul, old school, and R&B. YOU NEED RESERVATIONS. The place was packed.“
“This charming boutique LGBT bar in Washington DC truly stands out. The servers greeted us warmly, and the atmosphere buzzed with delight. The seating area was exquisite, complemented by a lovely bar. During the Valentine's season, the decor was tastefully adorned, enhancing the experience. The cocktails were expertly crafted, boasting a unique and potent flavor profile that set them apart. I wholeheartedly suggest giving them a try; the drinks are truly exceptional. Alongside a selection of chips, nuts, and a delightful cheeseboard, they offer a range of food options that align perfectly with the bar's boutique theme. The prices were fair, reflecting the high quality and generous quantities of the drinks. We visited this gem twice during our brief stay in DC, and it was a delightful experience each time.“
“Great atmosphere; the place gets busy at 7 and later, where it is bustling and great vibes even on a weekday. That’s when I would recommend coming here. Great service, our waiter checked on us very very often, and was attentive. Food was alright. The po boy was alright, wouldn’t order again. The brisket sandwich was really good though! Fries were soft, not crunchy, which I actually enjoyed but I know a lot of people don’t. Pecans brownie was soooooo good! Super warm and soft and strong chocolate, really generous on the pecans too! And a nice scoop of ice cream. Overall, if you come here I would come at 7 or later, get the brisket sandwich or smash burger and the pecan brownie.“
“Our service from Justin was so good. We also really fell in love with this bar immediately because we are vegan and they have a lot of vegan options on the menu. The vibe is great. The music is great and they have alot of sports. 10/10 definitely do it “
“I went there because no other restaurants around there had open seating and I didn't have reservations. I should have come here first because the food was great. The hostess set us up for a table for five right away, which suprised me because it was crowded. Our waitress was right on top of things and our food came quickly. I had the chicken parm sandwich and I loved it. The other in my group had burgers of different varieties. Everyone thought the food was delicious. The bar was good too. I'd definitely come back.“
“We have a complicated past with Roscoe's. We live just a block away in Old Town Takoma Park. When they opened we went there a couple of times and it was just plain bad. There were almost no toppings on the pizza and it was all pretty tasteless. So for the last more than a decade we've avoided them - which bummed me out. I love to support our local businesses but there have been, in the past, a few clunkers. And Roscoe's was yet another one. But the other day when I was walking my dog I thought, "Why do I always see people eating both indoors and outdoors there?" So I thought, "Well, let's give them another chance. Maybe they've change in over a decade!!" And have they ever. My husband and I had the Roasted Beet Salad, the Antica Pizza and the Siciliana White PIzza. It was all REALLY good. The Antica was a little greasy so I did some degreasing. The salad was perfect and substantial. The pizzas were really flavorful (with a lot of toppings) and the woodfired pizza was crispy and chewy. Just great. We'll definitely be back since we pretty much live right next door!“
“My wife and I arrived shortly after Saturday morning opening. A cheerful Giovanni promptly welcomed us. I informed him we would be a party of 5 or 6, the rest of our party would be there shortly. Giovanni welcomed us to wait at the bar, and handed us menus to get familiar with. He also offered to prepare any drinks we might be interested in and mentioned several. We do not drink, but hung out at the front. We mentioned we were celebrating my daughter's birthday. This was our first visit here. When the rest of our party arrived, Mark had our table ready. Giovanni brought us to the table. He took care of water and checking if we wanted any other beverages. After that, we ordered two starters. A dozen oysters on the half shell, and their smoked fish platter. Both were very well presented and very appetizing. We ordered our entrees sometime during the appetizers. Giovanni was continously smiling, joking around, and very happy in general. Our main course were served in a timely manner. Everyone ordered something different. Every dish was very well prepared and presented. The serving sizes were generous, from our point of view. We were full and satiated, but not stuffed. Everything was fresh looking and fresh tasking. The seasoning brought out the natural flavors of the proteins and sides. Everyone had a clean plate at the end. To our surprise, Giovanni brought over a desert with a candle in it. He led us in a happy birthday song. Obviously we were very happy with the entire experience and look forward to visiting again.“
“My party had an excellent time at KPot for dinner. Our server, Jack, was so pleasant and attentive and clearly explained how everything worked. The food itself was delicious. Everything was good quality and at a great price for all you can eat - even aside from all of the sides you can serve yourself buffet style. A lovely experience I'd love to repeat when I'm next in the area.“
“Best sandwiches I’ve ever had!! I didn’t know sandwiches could be so good. This is my new favorite go to spot in Annapolis. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The house made chips are good, desserts are good, onion rings are good! Customer service is great. Overall, very clean, lovely bathrooms, and sanitizer available for guests.“
“We had such an amazing experience! Initially, we planned to dine at Maydan, which has outdoor seating. However, since Medina was closed that day, we unexpectedly had the opportunity to sit inside at Medina and still enjoy Maydan’s menu. The vibe, the food and the service - all impeccable. It was just the two of us so we didn’t get the tawle (food tasting) menu, however the a la carte experience was just as filling if not more.“
“Use to love this place now the smell alone keeps me from being able to enjoy myself. The entire place reeks of dog urine and makes me gag. I went back tonight for the first time in a year and couldn’t believe how bad it is now.Edit: thank you for your response. I went back tonight and it was much better than a week ago. Also shout out to Thomas the bartender for being kind and friendly to everyone.“
