Punjabi food is known for its rich and buttery flavors and G.O.A.T Room uses only fresh spices and herbs, such as turmeric cloves, ginger, and garlic. Butter chicken has a creamy gravy made of onions, yogurt, seeds, and did not disappoint. The goat meat was the best I’ve ever eaten. Naan and everything was perfect and not too oily at all. The portions are good sized and the presentation is exceptional. The atmosphere is lovely with authentic decor, and smartly set tables but mostly it’s the staff’s hospitality that amazed us. Bobby and his team has accomplished what they have set out to do and that is to bring the best food to the people of DMV. My Wife was able to get some vegetarian options that she really enjoyed while still tasting some of the food items from the tasting menu that I got. The service was impeccable. “I just had my 2nd absolutely DELICIOUS Indian dinner at Virraaj on Cordell. My husband noticed what he thought was a new restaurant across from the public parking last week so we went there for our Wednesday date nite. We went earlyish and only a couple other tables were taken when we arrived but by the time we left at 6:30 ish it was just about full so best to make reservations. Even with many diners, it was still easy to talk to each other and be heard. I started w/ the AAM Palak Chaat appetizer which I had first tasted at Rasika and have ordered every time I have seen it on a menu. Definitely rivaled Rasika's and the portion was big enough to share w/ my husband as an appetizer. My main was the Murgh Bahak/ Kadai Chicken. So tender, so tasty with onion and green and red bell peppers, delicious brown sauce w/ terrific spices plus a little spicy kick. I ate as much as I could and still had left overs for 2 lunches at home. My husband ordered a lamb dish he enjoyed and finished every morsel including the rice. I saw some reviewers would have liked more rice. We had plenty with our meals so maybe they are giving more w/ each dinner. The waiter was attentive, professional, courteous and nice. The restaurant itself was classy & beautifully appointed - you could tell someone put a great deal of thought and money into designing it. This week we had friends visit who live in VA, within walking distance to Clarendon. We always go there for Indian food because there are so many good Indian restaurants to choose from but they were excited to try Virraaj from our comments about how much we enjoyed it. Before ordering takeout, I called and spoke to Jenni 3 times because I wanted to order what I had ordered last week but couldn't remember the name. She could not have been kinder or more patient in helping me figure out that it was the Kadhai Chicken. It may not seem like it from this review but I am a picky eater - happy to pay any price (just about ) for good food but am too often disappointed in Bethesda. Virraag got the highest marks on everything important to me: service, food, and ambiance - all of us enjoyed our meals and noone was disappointed. We ordered pickup for 4 main dishes including my fav Murgh Bahak/Kadai Chicken, Butter Chicken, Lamb Tawa Masala and Hariyal Murgh Tikka, naan and roti. All went on 2 big lazy susans on the dining room table and we kept on spinning, tasting and enjoying. The wife of the other couple always orders the Butter Chicken and kept on saying how moist and delicious the chicken was tonight. We all tried and liked everything - - not one complaint. So glad that we have a great Indian restaurant to go to and take friends to and not worry that anyone is not going to enjoy -- it is that good!“

“Aditi Goumet is a nondescript small restaurant in Vienna. People can easily miss it as it is in a small strip mall at the edge of Vienna. But, it is a hidden gem. Aditi Gourmet has the best-tasting chicken biryani, the best-tasting goat curry, and the best-tasting okra (“bhindi”) masala in Fairfax County. I recommend it highly.“

“First time dining in and had a great experience! We usually order to go (malai kofta, palak paneer, dal makhani, and ofc their samosas!!), but noticed the menu was different for dine in and wanted to try it.

The food was incredible- homey, well spiced, and perfectly fried. They do such a great job at balancing flavors and making fried food crispy and not greasy. The owner/worker was so kind to us as always!

Here's what we got:

1) Chole bhature- incredible chickpeas and crispy fluffy bhature. This was def the best thing we got!

2) Samosa chaat- you can't come here without getting their samosas. They are the best, large and well seasoned. This came with the chole (my fave!)and was very filling

3) Vada pav- super tasty fried potato ball with green chutney in a bun

4) Gobi paratha- finely minced and delicate cauliflower in a paratha! It was so impressive how much cauliflower was in here without the paratha ripping.

5) Masala chai- made fresh to order! He told us how other places pre make chai and fridge it, but he makes it fresh to order. It was so good and not as spiced as you would think. Loved the warmth and delicate flavor

Come with the expectation to wait a little more than a usual restaurant, but it will be worth it because everything tastes homemade and masterful. Don't be intimidated! They have an English menu and the owner understands English pretty well. Def check it out and show them some love with dine in or takeout!

This type of authentic hole in the wall is hard to find and very treasured by the community- in the hour we dined in, we saw almost 10 different parties calling in catering orders, dining in, or picking up takeout orders. You can tell how respected and well loved this place is; it's a gem of MoCo for sure!“
