“Every dish we had here was delicious, starting with the guacamole. The medium spice had the perfect amount of spice and it was super fresh. The camerones and trout dishes were my absolute favorites, seasoned to perfection. Even the veggies on the trout dish were amazing. I also enjoyed the brussel sprouts. We didn't mind it, but it can get kind of loud in there so if you're looking for a romantic vibe, this isn't it. It was perfect for a group of girlfriends wanting to celebrate a birthday and catch up. Oh also, if you like margaritas, the Oyamel margarita was awesome!“

“food was very inventive and good, but it was lacking on actual depth of any type of flavor. The service was quite good though we had to wait five minutes to actually be seated because the there was only one person seating people. The interior is very confusing and crowded and the restaurant decor doesn’t really make sense, the fried chicken was very good and unique so was the scallion pancake however, the pho really didn’t have any flavor and they were using chicken stock for some reason so it didn’t really have much flavor.“

“Baked & Wired received so much attention from various websites and reviews - we had to pop by! Georgetown is known for its cupcakes, and I would like to know why!We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We found the the line extending outside the store but it moved quickly. We used the time to visit its website for pictures and to make a decision (we would find later the staff was lacking warmth!)We ordered Strawberry and Vanilla Satin. While the strawberry was touted to be top seller, we found it was way too sweet. We shaved off the frosting and found a deliciously moist cupcake with a fragrant strawberry taste. Vanilla satin topped with dark chocolate proved to be a perfect pairing.Adequate seating in the cafe with one restroom at the back. Good for afternoon break while exploring Georgetown! Also bought home the granola which has a subtle hint of coconut. It was yummy but the hefty price tag $17.50 will mean not a second purchase…“

Portions were small, even the “entrees.” Will not go back anytime soon for dinner. Our waiter was very nice though.*Came back over a year later for dinner because of an InKind Coupon. The $50 off $50 made the meal more worth it. But still expensive for what youre getting.“

“A+ for service and atmosphere! The live music/flamenco dancing was vibrant and delightful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. For the tapas, the whisky pork tenderloin with potatoes was cooked well but the sauce had an odd tang to it. It may be an acquired taste and not for everyone. The grilled eggplant was soggier than expected and I don’t think I’ll get it next time. The Serrano ham and manchego cheese appetizer on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken and seafood paella (the reason why we chose this restaurant) was a big let down…the dish was way too salty and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without downing water. The chicken and mussels/clams however, were tender and cooked well. The churros and chocolate dip for dessert were divine.“

“My hubby and I have been to Carlyle twice. Both times we shared the Judith Point calamari with the corn salsa. Calamari preparation can range from horribly rubbery and tasteless, to just “meh,” or to what Carlyle has done with it - fried to perfection, with complementary flavors in the sauces and corn salsa- for the win!I ordered the smoked salmon on my first visit two years ago, and because it was so tastefully prepared, I couldn’t bring myself to try another dish. It is just delicious.Hubby ordered crab cakes, along with coleslaw and shoestring fries. Crab cakes were meaty and flavorful. Sides were good.Atmosphere and service are good. “I visited the West End location with my husband while visiting DC and had a phenomenal experience. Aside from the food being absolutely to die for, the customer service is really what impressed me. At the register, we were greeted by an older black woman who was so kind to share suggestions and explain the menu to me despite being very busy. It truly made the ordering experience a breeze. My latte was delivered by a younger light skinned black male and I am not sure where he received his customer service training by but by far he’s got it down pat. After delivering my order he told me, “have a nice day, okay?” but it wasn’t just a pleasantry, it truly seemed like a genuine request. “This place is a neighborhood classic. They keep the prices low (by Arlington standards) and the decor is awesome "mom's kitchen throwback". May it never, never change. I don't love everything they make, but since they make about 87,000 different things, you can find something. Their emphasis is old style German baking with Christian and Jewish calendar seasonal flourishes. This is, for instance, the first place I ever had a "hot cross bun"-- like in the children's poems. (They had them for Easter). And they have a great sandwich bar where I always get egg salad. The quiches are good too. They have coffee and real German sausages that look delicious too. And a nice seating area in front of a huge window. There's always room. So basically, you could spend all day here eating, drinking coffee, reading, looking out the window, and planning your next meal. That would be a great day. (PS: parking is annoying but do-able)“

“I want to update my review of Josephine from New Year's Eve. I wish I could leave the other up to show how much better my second time was, but maybe that's for the best.Let me just say this: I have never been happier to be wrong about something. Truly, my most recent experience at Josephine was like night and day compared to the NYE episode. My wife and I met a friend of ours for dinner last Sunday. We were greeted immediately by the folks at the host station who showed us to our table upstairs. The aesthetic upstairs is really quite lovely. From there our wait staffer, Daisha, guided us through multiple courses of culinary delight.I started with their pea and mint soup, which was something I'd never had before. It was well balanced and didn't push too much in the direction of pea or mint. It's something I hope to try again. For my entree I had the boeuf bourguignon. The beef and carrot mixture was nestled into a mashed potato vessel that gave a charming elevation to French country fare. I was particularly impressed with the herb-y flavor of the mashed potatoes, it married well with the beef/carrots/sauce.My wife had the salmon, which came topped with a very generous portion of smokey roe. She loved the way the smokiness complimented the salmon. Our friend also went with seafood and had the shrimp and scallops. I was lucky enough to get a bite of the scallops which were well seasoned and almost buttery smooth in the center. Their sauce americaine was delightful. Finally, to make up for being out of desserts on NYE the staff sent us the creme brullee AND the opera cake, which we're both a delight. We also had a few martinis (the 50:50 was a stand out, especially if you're like me and like vermouth), a decaffeinated cappuccino, and more than enough Coke.A magnificent experience.“

“Stopped by with two kiddos on a weeknight and the service was impeccable. Aside from having the usual parking issues - Connecticut Ave is sometimes difficult- we had no issues finding it. It's on a row with a lot of options but we (I) wanted hummus so here we were! The service and greeting were great? Our waiter was thorough and advised of the best items on the menu as well as allowed us to take out time ordering. We tried the pita bread with olive oil which was a little bland and required salt and pepper-but the pita itself was warm perfection. We also tried the artichoke hearts, which were amazing and the dressing was so good, the kids tried to eat it with a spoon! I typically don't eat after 7 and since it was much later, I ordered a salad with tabouleh and falafel, of which I finished one. The falafel was a little dry, which didn't make for a great reheating experience but on day one it was great! The kids both ordered the kids meal with falafel which is massive and comes with hummus and rice or fries. He let my picky water get a salad instead which worked nicely. There were a ton of leftovers and we are hearty eaters. I will just say the falafel and tabouleh salad doesn't reheat very well. The tabouleh is as expected, quite wet and if I'd had space to eat it on day one, it would have been a 5/5. As such, I'd give it a solid 4.3. It wilted almost completely in 12 hours even after separating the falafel. But we would go back, the menu is expansive, the service was very good, and the ambiance is perfect for a date night at any point! The high backed booths lend and aura of privacy and the high ceilings swallow conversation in a way that allows you to relax and really talk. Definitely a good restaurant design! If you like Lebanese/Mediterranean food, you won't be disappointed!“

“Teaism is a well-known teahouse brand with four shops in Washington, DC. I prefer the one in Dupont Circle because it has a cozy and homely feel, especially the upstairs dining area with windows overlooking the street. The place has an Asian-inspired decor and offers quality teas, all-day breakfast, bento boxes, light Japanese and Thai-style meals, and some snacks such as cookies and Asian-inspired desserts like matcha gelato, jasmine creme brulee, and mochi. We ordered salmon and Korean Beef Brisket bento sets, which tasted amazing. The salads that came with them added crunchiness to the food. The mochi had the expected texture and taste. It's a self-service establishment, so there is little to discuss about the service.“

“I had a great dinner here. I liked the cocktails. The BDT fries were great. They were cut thick, and were crispy on the outside and soft inside. The duck was delicious and cooked well. The sauce that came with it went well with the duck. I also liked the ambiance of the restaurant. It had a modern, minimalistic vibe.“

“I got the chocolate croissant, and was really surprised when I realized it was a whole wheat croissant. The first whole wheat croissant I've ever had, and it really adds a nice nutty flavor to the croissant. The texture of the inside is also a bit chewier than your average croissant, with a lovely crisp on the outside. I just wish there was a bit more chocolate, but the croissant itself was wonderful, and I'm super glad I got to try the whole wheat. I also got a cortado, which was just ok. This is definitely a bakery first, so would highly recommend stopping by and grabbing some of the pastries!“

“(Review for takeout) WOW! I don't expect much from takeout but the food was so good! I got Cambodian style pho with pork shoulder and it was delicious. The meat wasn't over cooked, the broth was warm and cozy, and all the other accompaniments paired with it so well! I can't wait to actually dine in and order other dishes! I didn't know Somebody Feed Phil was here and now I'm not surprised. Thank you for the food! I felt like I was at someone's house visiting for lunch!“

Servers were always friendly and helpful, if a bit slammed. And the coffee is delicious.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free toast that didn't taste like a brick, and clear indications of which items were gluten sensitive.“

“The service was great. The deli next to the restaurant is a great temptation to bring home all kinds of cheese, wine, and crackers. The food was definitely cheese forward. So in the case of the French onion soup, which was one of the best I've ever had, it was as much about the bread and very generous portion of gryere on top as it was about the very delicious onion broth. Conflicted over what I wanted to try, I noticed they had take and bake options on the menu, so I opted for the lasagna for dining in, and I got a mac and cheese to go. Like the formentioned French onion soup, this lasagna was more about the generous amount of cheese inside. Both options were fantastic. We shared a charcuterie board for four, and it was plenty to go around. The warmed olives and Manchego cheese were quite delicious, too. They live up to their name, so if you love cheese, this is a great restaurant to see how your favorite dishes can really elevate the cheese as the star ingredient.“

“Really great food - they have really yummy breakfast sandwiches which are always hot off the panini press. They have just really great baked goods too, beautiful cakes and cupcakes and then also traditional bakery items like croissants, cookies, etc - which are all insanely delicious. I think I've tried about everything from Buzz at this point and can say the food and coffee is fantastic. It's also a really great work environment so I come here to work from my laptop pretty often. The tables in the back facing the entrance are great - there is great lighting there for zoom meetings and it's never too loud in there.“
