My personal favs from my recent visit were the scallion, egg & cheese croissant, crab rangoon croissant, and strawberry milk donut. If you are in the area while Rose Ave is open, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by. The only negative thing i can say about going here is that, for people who do not live in or frequent the DC area, you will forever long to return. There was almost 5 years between my first and second visit here, and i dreamed of that return every single day.“

They’ve taken my child behind the scenes and shown him how grains are killed and bread is baked. I could not ask for a better community and diet staple.“

“Consistently delicious! Normally, I just go for the cookies, cronuts, and petit fours. This time we tried all things savory. We were invited to a German Christmas Market Themed party — very specific I know… Since it was a potluck, we decided to make currywurst. Heidelberg’s brats for the recipe were so good. We also grabbed their huge soft pretzel (yum) and their curry spread (double yum). Whether you go sweet or savory, you can’t go wrong. Love this bakery!“

“I finally gave in to the hype and went to try this $6 cookie.

The chocolate walnut cookie is a big boi, the form factor is half the point. The exterior has a satisfying crispy, buttery crunch that gives way to a doughy (but fully cooked) interior. Big, textured walnut pieces add a nice bite.

That said, it is quite sweet. The chocolate is overwhelming, even by cookie standards (though I understand it looks great on Instagram).

If I do try another cookie, I’ll be eating it in two sittings instead of one 🫡“

“It was my first time going to this place , the staff can try to be more welcoming and pleaseant and help they clients to order , I had to take my mask off to speak and let them know what i wanted and as i was ordering I felt like i was being rushed to order , the food was tasting but tge owner needs to change the way the food is charged , I was charge for each separate item this is not a place where you order yourself a complete meal for a full charge , the food was delicious but I would not go back and another turn off in the bakery area they had flies around the sweet bread .“

I was in a rush as I had a bus to catch and she quickly rung me up and got me a bag to hold my delicious pastries. Great customer service! “When this place is good it is excellent but there are times when the food and experience are just a bit inconsistent. Sometimes the French toast or bacon will be dried out or like it's been sitting for a little bit under the light but when it hits it really is the best. I've rated it four stars just because consistency is so critically important with a restaurant and we often debate if we're even gonna go because we know when it's not great it's just not worth it especially for the cost.

I will also say the atmosphere itself is fine and what you'd expect. It's at least very clean, which is important. Our favorite items are:
- the French toast
- the biscuits in general
- the fact that they have kids' portions and options for some of these“

I’ve had Ethiopian food a couple of times and do believe their food is better. My wife got awaze tibs, while I got the special kitfo, a tar tar style dish. My wife’s was wonderful and I’m sure mine was good as well, but I know tar tar is not for me. Bottom line, if you’re interested in trying Ethiopian food, this would be a great experience.“

“I ordered a cake on Thursday at 1 pm to be picked up 4:30 pm on Friday for a birthday party. The man who picked up the phone was so accommodating and made sure that the customized message had the correct spelling of my name. When the cake was picked up, the lady was extremely lovely and kind. 10/10 would recommend and will be buying another birthday cake (very soon) from this bakery. I have also visited this bakery before to buy a n emergency cake and they have lots in the display case available. Perfect, delicious cakes.
