“Absolutely one of the very best restaurants to be found anywhere. They're a 20 out of 10 and the kind of place that makes me wish I had more thumbs so I could give them more than two thumbs up! GREAT, attentive service, GREAT atmosphere and the food is Michelin Star worthy. Beyond wonderful!!!! It's truly a pleasure to dine with these folks and I recommend them to you enthusiastically and without reservation!“

“My husband and I had the best experience tonight! The food was amazing. We started with the tuna appetizer and the cure wedge salad - so good! He had the filet and I had the short ribs - both were so tasty and cooked to perfection. Our server was super attentive and so personable! We’ll definitely be returning when we’re back in the area!“

“2 of us had drinks at the bar and shared a starter plate of meatballs and an entree of Haddock Milanese. Both were terrific. The fish was cooked great and served with an excellent sauce. All the bartenders/waitstaff who served us were very nice, helpful and friendly, especially our main sever, Jenna. We’ll definitely be back.“

Live music played from the lobby, not too loud, but enough to enjoy and not disturb conversation. Food & service was excellent. Great value, especially for an upper level restaurant. “A rare gem. Huge portions. The freshest of ingredients. Yes, they offer a Vegan special. Even better, the taste, very special. Within ten minutes, we had 4 different people check on how we were doing. We were in a rush to make the theater. They handled that very well too. A truly special place. You will leave with minds at ease and belly full.“

“I work at the Moffatt-Ladd House across the street and have been meaning to come over and experience their menu, as we often have overlapping customers. Our host sat us right away, drinks were fabulous, and all the meals were absolutely amazing! (I had the caribbean grilled swordfish.) My mom had been here with her parents in college in the early 80s and clearly Casey is carrying the mantle well. Thank you especially to our server, Rachel!“

“Great service, we were met with a smile at the door. Had a fabulous meal! One of our party has to eat gluten free due to her food allergy. The staff was knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions. Not only did I feel safe about no cross contamination, the gluten free food was fantastic! We had Appetizers, entrée and dessert. (The Gluten free Beignets were out of this world) Please make them a permanent item on the menu! Good portions, even left with boxes of leftovers. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back! “This was our first time here in 8 years since it changed from Maxwell’s to Pepper’s. Maxwell’s was a place we visited frequently when in Ogunquit, and we even had my 50th birthday there. We were very apprehensive about going to Pepper’s, and we did not know what to expect! Wow and cool were the first 2 words I thought of when we entered! The place we came to know and love changed, but it was a great change with an awesome bar! Then, we had some drinks, an appetizer, and then our food came. All of it was great, and all the servers and bartenders are wonderful! We definitely recommend the Firecracker Shrimp and Calamari for appetizers, and the whole belly clams and teriyaki tuna for main courses! Everything was fresh and delicious! We are looking forward to our next trip to Ogunquit, and Pepper’s will definitely be on our dining list!“

“We have been going to Horizons for many years. The food is always wonderful and Mary Ellen and her staff are always smiling and welcoming. One of the only places you can get a choice of how you want your eggs poached and they always come out right. Best choice for breakfast in the area.“

“Went on Sunday. Was a bit nervous because of the varied reviews however, we are so glad we tried it. The iced tea was fresh and strong, my pancakes were big and fluffy loaded with blueberries. The staff was attentive but they do seem a little frazzled. The restaurant is clean and spacious and again the food was great.“

“After not visiting Portsmouth and The Gaslight for 15 years we made a reservation two weeks ago and dined last night. When we arrived the restaurant was very busy. The hostess gave us the table directly in front of the entrance—one of the worst tables. Pretty disappointing for having a reservation for two weeks. Our experience was saved by our wonderful waitress and excellent clam dinner We did ask for another table but nothing was offered — so we sat in the middle of the continuous traffic of diners entering. Otherwise would have given 5 stars.“
