“I hadn't been here in a few years but wanted some great pizza for my birthday and of course Mootz didn't disappoint! We got Beast of Burden and Bee Sting and both were delicious. The meatballs are my favorite thing on the menu. Our server, Nyla, was phenomenal - so sweet and kind and happy, and gave us great recommendations.“

“My husband and I saw a review of Sicily's, and wanted to try it. It did not disappoint! We got the deep dish, and an order of meatballs, for take-out. It was an hour drive to get home. I had a bite of it while it was cold, and it was super good! I put the rest of the piece in the air fryer, and it was amazing. The sauce is fresh tasting, and the crust was crispy on the bottom, and chewy in the middle. The cheese on the edge was slightly brown, and crisp, just the way I like it. This was absolutely the BEST pizza I've ever had, and I've had a lot in my almost 65 years! Meatballs? Another best ever! Tender and so much flavor, with a good amount of marinara, so that every last meatball has as much as you could want. It was DEFINITELY worth the trip, and well worth the money! I would be in so much trouble if I lived closer, but I would do it again in a heartbeat! And to top it off, the Chef/Manager was SO nice and friendly! We had a very nice chat with him about the sourdough, and the restaurant, and how much he loves what he does. And you can tell! I highly recommend trying this place, they are about 1 block off of the freeway, and easy to get to.“

“GB’s is my #1 spot for vegan options. They also offer gluten free dough—and they’ve done a fabulous job recreating it people like me who have issues consuming gluten. The environment is laid back, easy & chill. And the view is spectacular on Michigan Ave. Grabbing a seat at the bar—no problem! You’ll be dazzled by the large selection of craft cocktails—that’s a view in it self! It tends to get crowded quick, so calling ahead or beating the crown is suggested but it’s sooo worth it. “This pizza was seriously impressive! The cheese was melted perfectly, and the vodka sauce added so much flavor to every bite. The crust had a beautiful roasted finish, topped with parmesan and a bright lemony vinaigrette that made the whole dish stand out. “We ate here for the first time had the Fungchi and the San Gennaro fabulous best pizza we have ever had. Very light crust which brought out the true flavors that were on top of the pizza. Highly recommend if you are in Detroit and want great pizza.“

“The girl at the register is very nice and pleasant on the phone. The pizza was fantastic but the menu online needs to be updated. Every pizza on the list increased 35-45% in price which equates to $6-7 extra per pizza. The large cheese pizza is $19 not $13 the pepperoni is $22 not $15.“

“We had a rehearsal dinner for 40 people at Sheilds in Detroit and it was the best experience ever! The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great and the staff were so awesome!!! When we got there everything was set up for us and they were very welcoming. The manager Jason was great, and had everything running smoothly. The wait staff…shout out to L & D we’re phenomenal! They were right there with refills, smiles, jokes and anything you needed. They made the experience so wonderful!!! “Haven't been in a while since I moved out the neighborhood. But food was always great, service above reproach, prices were reasonable and great menu selections. Owners and staff were always friendly and appreciative. I could go for a full slab rib dinner or smothered pork chop dinner. With collard greens, Mac n cheese, cornbread and a large kool-aid mixed.“

“I can’t praise my experience here enough!!! I went to the Alex Warren concert last night (07/05/26) and had the absolute best time! However my night didn’t start great. I had won these tickets from a radio station, and was SO excited. I really wanted to go, but money has been tight so I couldn’t just buy them myself. I won two upper level tickets.(section 223, row 9) I was already a little anxious because I’m a heavy set person, I take up a lot of space, I typically try to buy tickets on the aisle so strangers aren’t forced to deal with my presence. Since I won these tickets, I had no control over being placed directly in the middle of the row. So I was already self conscious about my space. On top of that, I’ve never sat upper bowl at LCA. It is not for the feint of heart! I didn’t know I was afraid of heights until this occasion. I was sliding into a panic attack quickly. My friend and I decided I needed to go down to the concourse and take a breather. Security saw my panic attack and checked on me immediately, he was so kind and even gave us directions to guest services to see if they could help. We then talked to Katy. Katy I hope someone sees this, you were amazing! You made me feel so seen and valid, immediately jumped into fix it mode on how to make sure I could feel comfortable enough to enjoy the concert, and provided a distraction to help me calm down! She then pointed us to her supervisor, whose name I never got, I’m so sorry! He was an absolute gem! Immediately calmed me and got me and my friend moved to open seats where it was much more comfortable and spacious! We had the best time at this concert! I cannot thank the security guard, Katy, and the supervisor enough!!“

“I consider myself a pizza snob. So when I heard there was a new halal place close to the crib on the 7 I had tonooo in.. The family who owns the place are honestly great ppl and always paying attention to detail with their customer service 5⭐ Now the pizza.. The white sauce chicken Alfredo was SLAPPIN and the next day it was just as good.. The meat lovers with no pork at all is amazing the sauce is great the crust is crispy and chewy at the same time.. Since I was ordering as a reward for a few students I asked them to double cut the slices and they easily accommodated my special request. Worst day i had, ordered a small cheese with pepperoni pizza with cajun crust (very good, gently crisp crusts and just enough cajun so 10/10) and a 2L of soda through Uber Eats, Didnt get the soda i wanted , they were out & i guess the uber guy disregarded my note on what to replace it with. I called, even though slightly tense (sorry) the guy was super kind over phone, apparently this Happys Pizza is closer than i thought so i walked to get it replaced and still was super kind, even offered a pie slice. On the verge of tears on xmas eve with the worst day but the service was so kind, and the pizza was good and good service needs to be acknowledged and appreciated so 10/10.“

“Used to really enjoy the ambiance of the Greektown location and its proximity to all the things nearby, all the restaurants, shops and casino, but it was closed in 2020 due to Covid. I now use their E Jefferson location in Rivertown, which is much smaller and more for carryout. Same quality pizzas though. As to the pizzas, while you can get thin crust and round, the real star is their phenomenal deep dish Chicago style to die for! I think it's so good, it outdoes any Chicago pizza joint, including my favorite, Lou Malnatti's, which is saying alot. Of their signature pizzas, I most like their V.I.P., Three Cheese w Spinach {including optional mushrooms) and their Meats pizza. An advantage of PP"s deep dish seems to be their mixing the ingredients rather than layering them ala the Chicago custom. I find the toppings nearly all in each bite. With Chicago layering, you can get a mouthful, say, of sausage over the other ingredients. I have not noticed such layering in the PP version.. The toppings are fairly sized, not scrawny. No cutting corners. Cost is $20-40, S-L. Their sauce, the soul of any pizza, is excellent, not too sweet. They got it perfect. This is the Rolls Royce of Chicago style pizzas.“
