“We ordered online and went to pick up our food and there was only one lady working, more orders were coming in and she kept a smile on her face. For a Saturday night to only have 1 employee working isn't ok, however I understand stuff happens but that young lady was amazing and kept smiling“

“I’ve tried multiple times to order from this location at 8:30 and they are never open. Door says they close at 9...maybe consider changing the times so people don’t waste time goin there. Love the sandwiches, but not being open during posted hours is a drag.“

“Boardwalk has been my go to sub spot for over a decade. Unfortunately I moved to a different state now, but anytime I'm in Grand Rapids I find my way here.
Their menu is great, but one of my favorite things to do is just walk in and have whoever is helping me create their favorite or experiment. This particular evening Kayla and Grace did not disappoint and gave me a great take on their turkey & prostini.
The staff has always treated me great and the quality of food has been consistently wonderful.“

“We tried this place randomly and we’re SO HAPPY we did—the food is amazing: fresh and flavorful!
Our family got 2 soups (spring for extra bread-it’s soft inside/crispy outside and perfect for getting all the rich and savory broth!), 2 sandwiches, spring rolls and summer rolls. Next time we order, I’m getting the pork lemongrass sandwich or the bun bo hue (THAT BROTH! 😍). The spring rolls were fine-nothing special-but the veggie summer rolls with sauce were so fresh and delicious.
The store (GR) seemed understaffed this Sunday afternoon, so the food took longer than expected, but the workers were doing their best and even double checked our order to make sure they hadn’t missed anything. A+ customer service and A+ food is worth waiting for! We’ll definitely be back!

Edited: We paid a 2nd visit during the Superbowl afternoon and our amazing experience was NOT a fluke. Everything was just as delicious as I remembered and, TRUST ME, do not sleep on the spring rolls! Looooove this place. We're adding it to the regular take out rotation!“

“This subway is the best subway I’ve been to and I have been to many other subways. Their customer service is outstanding and genuine. I want to give a shout-out to Patience Humphrey that works there. She has excellent communication and every time I go she is always working so hard and she does everything she can to her best ability and she is overall an amazing worker and she has great work ethic. First and foremost. This place is better than the Penera across the street. I'll die on that hill.

Secondly their food is amazing for sit down. And am yet to complain when I dine in. Truely 5 star experience if I say so myself for a deli shop.

Third... the drive through needs work or a new order of operations to keep food FRESH throughout the process.. what do I mean by this? I have only had issues when going through the drive through. Soggy toast. Messy sandwiches falling apart. And the most recent one of French dip sauce being half put on and thrown into a to-go bag just to have it spill over my fiancé's WHITE gaming chair apon opening. I wish I had took pictures but im telling it for what it is.

Final thoughts:
Overall ill settle for 4 stars but cannot give 5 until they fix the drive through situation. Not quite sure if there is a process that can be adjusted to ensure toast doesn't get soggy, loose items won't spill or leak, and food doesn't feel like its been sitting for 30min wrapped heavily in wrapper for steam to soggy it all up. I know a deli has a lot to keep up with. For them to have a drive through is great! Perfect for people on the go quickly. But all i have to say is I'd rather sit down when I can- every time.

The customer service while dining in is unprecedented with any other location I can think of. Everyone is so nice and very quick to help anyway possible to ensure your experience is up to their standards. The staff are doing very well. Especially the lunch crew as of this date. The evening crew seems to lack a little bit of coordination from what I can see by prospecting. But none the less the service was the same.

The atmosphere inside is somewhat homely. What i mean by this is- as a 2000s kid growing up and listening to the radio with my dad was a big part and their music selection and over all inside vibe is great, relaxing, and perfect to unwind with the family and enjoy some fresh deli products.

“I rolled in two minutes before they closed, the guy behind the counter was super kind and did not make me feel rushed at all. Got half a BLT and ate it there, again no sense of rushing me out. Great food, great service, saved my life needing a quick snack before court next door!“

We often submit large orders with substitutions and sometimes have multiple orders in one day. I can’t imagine the volume of orders they get besides us being downtown and the food still manages to get here super quickly. Every one of their employees I’ve interacted with have been very friendly and helpful as well. Not to mention the food comes out great every time. Parking: Parking was brutal as I had to compete with other people to find a spot.“

“I visited this location as it was on my way to work. I walked in to order and the girl just blankly looked at me. No greeting, no smile, no how can I help you. I asked her if she was taking orders. I order two sandwiches and brought them into work. My bread was so crunchy on the bottom it was as though it had been toasted. Not the best visit, probably won't go to that location again.“

“I thought I'd be sweet and order my sweetheart food. Named it "Sarah the Beautiful". The person who made the ordered labelled her Sandwich " Sarah the Ugly". *edited* The store handled the situation. The delivery driver took pictures for the Manger on Duty. The M.O.D. called the GM all before I could make my way up to the store. I'm told that '"human" was fired, was not the only issue with said employee. The GM did call me, I have not yet returned his call and will in the future after. Just got busy today. I could tell everyone was sorry and embarrassed that we have to have this conversation“
