“Last year I left this place a five star review however the last couple times I’ve been here the quality has gone downhill. Chicken tastes like it’s been sitting under a heat lamp all day, very hard to chew and they forgot the dipping sauce. Fries are never seasoned and my drink is always flat. Food used to come packaged nicely in a box but now it’s thrown together in a paper bag. The workers used to smile but now they can’t bother to even make eye contact before shutting the window in your face. It was good while it lasted but save your money.“

“This place is awesome. The service is incredible. But the food was even better! The interior of it takes you back to a simpler time. Family owned and operated. The server was the sister of the cook. The coney dogs didn’t stand a chance. Fries were so crunchy and delicious. While there, the folks sitting to the left of me ordered breakfast. “If you are contemplating where to dine…go here…you won’t be disappointed. Gabi and Gabriel are such gracious and hospitable owners of this diamond in the rough in hazel park. Service is 10/10. Their food…100/10. Their drinks are plentiful and their food is all authentic and homemade. Their Langos with garlic sauce is AMAZING…Honestly my wife and I have tried almost all of their staples (they also have rotating chef specials) and we have not found one thing that we don’t like. Their “from the woods” polenta is fantastic for vegetarians. There is something for everyone and once you go…you will keep going back for more.“

“On a Saturday night my girlfriend and I wanted to go somewhere close and somewhere simple and we found The coach grill. First thing i saw was how busy and cozy the place seemed right when we walked in. After the staff cleaned a table very quickly and seated us, we looked over the menu. I heard of the famous Ruben sandwich and I wanted to try their wagyu burgers. So we ordered both, it was not a long wait at all...first impression was the Ruben was fresh and delicious and packed with flavor....while being a thick sandwich the bread was toasty and did not turn soggy. The wagyu burger I got with with cheddar and mushrooms was juicy and well made we also got the garlic fries which were hand cut, tasty and hot to the touch.
The staff was very kind and attentive, always checking on us, replacing drinks without being asked and being quick to clean off the table of plates we were done with....but not being pushy in any way.
The vibe was busy but still nice and the music was at a perfect volume,not too loud and the place had a nice style.
I would not only recommend this establishment if you like american bar food but I will definitely be back for that Ruben again“

“Zeff’s Coney Island is a little gem hidden in the heart of Eastern Market! I’ve been coming here for 20 years, and this place doesn’t miss a beat. The food is always consistently good, which keeps me coming back. My favorite item on the menu is the Greek omelette with feta, tomatoes, and onions – it’s simply delicious! The gyro meat is the perfect blend of lamb and spices, making it a must-try.

“We were instantly greeted and seated. Our server Robby was awesome. The entire staff was friendly. Chef Johnny is very talented and friendly. I love that he greets all guest and will even bring your food out himself. For starters we had the shrimp and crab cakes. They were crispy on the outside and melted in your mouth. The surprise with these was that there was whole shrimp inside. We loved it. The sauce on top was just the right amount. The salmon with saffron rice, coconut curry sauce and green apple slaw was the best salmon I've had in a while. The pairing was new for me but it worked. The salmon was juicy and perfectly cooked. When paired with everything on my plate it was like fireworks. Everything popped and was amazing. My husband had the beef strudel. Now he was thinking it was gonna be like a beef wellington but no. When he put his fork into the perfectly crispy flaky crust and into the most tender beef either of us have ever had, OMG. With the first bite all he could do was say "WOW"(sorry about how loud he was). The flavors of that plate were incredible. The blueberry cheesecake was the icing on the cake. It was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet and the smear of lemon sauce on the side elevated the flavors. The drinks. I had the rainforest and my husband had the Johnny Manhattan. When we saw how small the glasses were we were definitely worried. That feeling quickly faded with the first sip. The drinks may be small but they are strong and delicious. We had to pace ourselves with those. Overall, I give this place a 10/10 and will definitely be back again soon. Thank you to everyone there for a great time and for great service.“

“I moved here in March and I’m still working on finding my new local go to spots. It’s my first time here and this is going to be my #1 go to diner/Coney Island.
It’s a family run business and it’s obvious that they work hard to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The waitresses are genuinely kind and you can tell they care about their customer.

The food was really good! It came out quick, the portions were generous, and if you like hash browns you won’t be sorry!! I’m a big coffee gal and my coffee was never empty, always hot, and as a VERY rare treat, the coffee is actually really good.

Lastly, the restaurant is clean and well maintained. It is obvious they take pride in what they do and are dedicated to making a great experience.
