“Great experience! All the staff was top notch! We had smoked old fashions for a cocktail, which were perfectly presented. Aranchini and Gruyère spread were great as well as the pasta entrees. Wish we had time for dessert and to enjoy the live music duo, who were awesome. We had tickets to Royal Oak Music Theater...which was within walking distance.“

“Quaint and modern little spot. Can definitely see it livening up during the warmer months. I had a reservation for my husband’s birthday. Aperol for me and a wise and handsome for husband. Both good. We shared the steak tartare and braised beef apps. Both were delicious. Nice just and flavor with the tartare. The whipped feta with beets was smooth and delicious. I got the scallops and risotto. The risotto Nero was interesting. I don’t know if they added cheese but there was almost a smaller gelatin consistency. Scallops were nicely seared. Other main was the tagliatelle with lamb ragú. It had a nice hint of spice and the fresh pasta was evident. Dessert was a VERY rich chocolate ganache-like dessert with small malt balls on top. There was a hint of thyme which was a good contrasting flavor.“

“Have tried it twice. 1st time just us to test it. Found the vibe great. Easy going. Lots of choices from beer, wine and seltzers. Bought some bread bites and was not impressed with the taste nor price. Talked to a couple that bought the Royal w/Cheese and they said it was great, agreed it looked great We played some shuffleboard, nice to have though the table needs a little work on its surface. The employs there were 2nd visit we brought a couple of friends after a night at Johnnys. They liked it as we did. Again many choices to drink. Casual table and easy guest to speak with, many of whom were playing various games. Asked to switch the channel on TV and no problem did it right away. Overall we will be back and want to try the burger“

“Our dining experience was fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxing and fun. Our waitress, Kelly was amazing. She was kind, energetic, attentive without hovering. The food was outstanding. “What a hidden gem! Great diner for breakfast in Royal Oak area. Banana Pecan Waffle was amazing. The candied pecans made a big difference. We also had Corned Beef Hash, pancakes, bacon, plus much more. Portions are huge. You cannot walk away hungry. Hot, fresh coffee, and excellent, friendly service. We can see why the Oak Diner is so poplar. DoorDash delivers! Nostalgic setting, loved the decor. Daily specials and loved the joke of the day board. Counter sitting or dining area. “I had not been to a Beefcarver since I was a kid to the location on 8 mile. Stopped in today to the Woodward location. Food was good, the atmosphere is very nostalgic (I loved it), and the staff was amazing. The gentleman waiting on us was very friendly and very on top of things! We will be back.“

“For my first time visiting Jim Brady’s I must say it definitely exceeded my expectations! My daughter made a reservation for her birthday dinner and we loved the way that the table was set up so cute! The vibe is amazing there! It’s so cute for ladies to have a ladies night out. The food was extremely delicious! The customer service is on point!I can’t remember the waitress name that served us on Fri 4/20/24 at 630pm, but she was AMAZING! “Le Crepe is always amazing! The staff are attentive and the crepes are fresh every time. They’re stuffed with tasty goodness and will have you wanting more; I haven’t ever had a crepe that I didn’t like from here. It’s far from where I live, but it’s worth the drive to support a small business!“

“Stellar sliders, solid shakes, and chill atmosphereI ordered a double-cheeseburger slider and vanilla shake.The Slider: the bun is not cakey but rather a soft sponge-type bread that absorbs the juice of the burger well. This leaves a great meat-to-bun ratio, and the cheese melt is glorious, covering every part of the patty. I witnessed the maestro on the grill as he made my sliders, and he used the tried and true "pinch and pull" method of lifting the patty off the grill. I then saw him scrap the melted cheese on the grill and add it to the burger. It was a marvelous process to witness and a magical taste to experience. The sliders were hot, cheezy, and accompanied by caramelized onions and a touch of ketchup added for some sweetness. I was highly impressed by the double-cheeseburger sliders I ordered, so much so that I ate 5 in total.The Shake: It was creamy and delicious, and it was just right in that Goldilocks zone of not being too thick and not too milky.I ate lunch on a Sunday, and there were only a few other diners, so it was a very calm and chill environment to enjoy my food in. The service was prompt and respectful. I was not waiting long either for my order to be taken or delivered.Parking: Plenty of paid parking on Main Street but there are parking garages nearby that are free for the first 2 hours. I parked a 5 min walk away in the neighborhoods so I could park for free and enjoy the nice weather on my walk.“

My mom and I had come in a few weeks ago and our server (a girl with a braid, we saw her again tonight) was OK but not the best. She seemed uninterested in us/our experience, beverages took a long time to come out (even waters), and we felt ignored throughout the meal. We didn’t need much so this was OK, but it did stick out to us. However, the food was obviously so good that we were drawn back in. We returned tonight and had the best time! The food might’ve even been better than last time (which is a high bar to reach), and our server was quick with beverages, knowledgeable about the menu, and seemed willing to go the extra step for us to be happy. He talked my mom into having a dessert (which was huge but very delicious, we ended up splitting it!). I haven’t seen her so happy from a meal in a long time. We absolutely will be returning with no hesitations and we will request Scott if he’s working and has room for us! P.S. The host is also very accommodating, we have bad backs so the booths don’t work well for us and she happily placed us at a table with no issues.“

“Stopped here while staying at a hotel nearby. Was told it would be a 20 minute wait but ended up getting seated in less than five minutes. (On a busy Saturday night). The host and waiter were extremely pleasant! Me and my guest had buffalo boneless wings, and the chicken tacos. Both were delicious! We also had a couple cocktails, which were also crafted perfectly! “I haven't been to this one in quite a while, but I remember the food was very good and it's been at least 2 years. So I went today and met my son who I meet every Saturday. I ordered the spinach feta scramble which comes with toast and choices of a side and I chose pancakes and I'm mad at myself. I didn't take a picture because it was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Every ingredient was so fresh the spinach was beautiful the feta they could've put a little more in, but it was wonderful. The service was wonderful . We go to a lot of different restaurants. The ambiance was OK... I highly recommend this one to everyone. Enjoy.!!!“

“I have been going to Olga's for more than 20 years in downtown Birmingham, Troy at Oakland Mall, and now usually in Royal Oak. For years the spiral cut French fries have been my favorite fries at any fast casual chain. Yesterday I was at Royal Oak and the fries have changed for the worse. There is a new batter style and they were too salty. Please bring back the old fries!!!“

“My first experience with First Watch was some years ago, in Pikesville, MD. I was so excited that they were building locations nearby in Michigan. This visit was just as nice. They were very busy (Saturday, lunch time), so our server was excused for not bringing a couple of items. Of course, it was a bit noisy, but the atmosphere was good. The food was very tasty & mine was dine exactly how I'd wanted it. We had a Salmon Benedict, a classic breakfast (eggs, artisans toast and seasoned potato bites). Coffee was great. We both ordered omelettes, hash browns (crispy), toast and coffee and everything was truly delicious. The omelette was impressive. The cheese was so nicely melted and it was very hot and fresh. I enjoyed every single bite of it. I had the custom and I can definitely recommend. Our waitress was prompt, friendly and regularly checked in on us. She kept our coffees hot and fresh.
