“I ordered a Gingerbread Latte and it was amazing! Coffee was freshly brewed for my drink, and they kindly asked me if I wanted to add cold foam, and dusted some garnish on top of it. They also have a seasonal menu that makes me really want to go back and try a seasonal drink (I really want to try the Witch's Cauldron!).

I also ordered a double chocolate cake slice for me, and 2 other slices for my family; one cookies and cream, and an extra double chocolate. Was told that the cookies and cream was delicious.

As for my thoughts on the double chocolate cake; I LOVED the cake of the dessert, very moist and soft. There was also a chocolate layer on top of the chocolate buttercream, but the frosting was different than what I'm used to. I wonder if instead they use royal icing? It tasted a bit different from the regular ordinary buttercream that I'm used to, but it wasn't bad by any means, and I still happily ate it!

I tried a bite of the cookies and cream cake, and it was also very tasty. Tasted like the cream of the cookies are mixed into the buttercream. Was a fan of that one and will definitely have to grab one for myself next time!

“Went here for an event in the back area. Very nice set up. I went in and tried an iced tea with sweet cinnamon and toasted coconut syrup. It was very good. Definitely recommend if in area. It's super cute inside and out too. They have bees housed outside in the front, a cute mural painted on the side, a cool lounge area with a hammock on the side and seating around the side and back of the building with wildflowers and such. Lights strung about that lights up the area and give a great ambiance at night. Very cool vibe. Nice hang out joint.“

I am in Detroit unexpectedly with a family party of 12 people for our father's funeral. we were trying to find a place that could prepare a party tray for that many people on short notice without it costing a fortune. this place was perfect! they happily accommodated our needs for a lot of food, had the order ready in only about 20 minutes, and it was very affordable. not to mention, delicious!! even my very picky children raved about how good their sandwiches were. The food was really good and the wait time was only about 10 minutes which wasn't that bad considering it was a busy Saturday afternoon. I actually found the prices to be reasonable and standard for today's market. The staff were friendly and very efficient. They also serve alcohol and not just craft beers. They were running drink specials on Old Fashioned cocktails. It's in an atrium style courtyard so the atmosphere was pretty serene and calming.“

“My husband and I hadn't seen a Caribou in years. We both loved whatever caramel they used in the 90s and had our hearts set on getting it again. They did not disappoint! Just like it was when we were little. I gave up a frappacino style drink in my teens but man I will be indulging in those more often now. “Did my birthday here and the staff was so sweet. They were so accomodating and patient. One of my friends has an egg allergy and they were able to make waffles without eggs for her. It was her first time eating waffles and she loved it! We were a party of 11 and they were so helpful. Food was delicious and staff was even better! “Stopped by to order two drinks— lemon mint and honey avocado. The service was quick and we got the fresh drinks under 5 minutes. The lemon mint had a lot of fresh mint and was kind of like a slushee because of the amount of crushed ice and sugar. The honey avocado was smooth and definitely more filling. While we were waiting for the drinks, got a glimpse of the fresh fruits. All the fruits looked fine other than the strawberries which were covered with white mold. Would not recommend any of the strawberry drinks after seeing the strawberries.“

Everytime I come to the Detroit area I make sure to come here. The quality is in every bite. I normally get the vegan sourdough banana pancakes. They are so fluffy and rich. I’m dreaming about them right now. I wish I could eat them. But I can’t! Oh the pain. You could feel like this. You too could feel the pains of separation. Separation from those sweet, sweet, dear pancakes.
They also have a few other options like the brown rice bowl, farro bowl, and avocado toast. Out of those I’ve only had the two bowls but I can tell you they’re delicious and they make me feel like a better person.
Overall, I can’t wait to come back. I need to get a better job so I can afford it.“

Why not stop in at Royal Oak Roast? It’s a comfy place with great people watching. The coffee is wonderful and refills are a dollar. So many different coffee choices in all styles, including espresso over over Weiss vanilla ice cream!!! “The fact that a COVID-19 card was needed upon entry, along with the fact that it wasn't advertised on the door, were the lowlights. I don't anticipate returning until the policy is changed. My recommendation is to obtain an updated COVID-19 card, and have it on your phone or in your pocket/purse/wallet before you visit. it will save the trouble of being turned away.“

“My son & I visited today based off of one of my favorite foodie's instagram. Mahmoud took care of us. He was very friendly, and patient while we came up with what we wanted. I ordered a coffee that wasn't on the menu and let me tell you, he delivered! Strong, Arabic roast iced coffee with almond milk and sweet cold foam. It was so good, and strong that I was able to put ice back on top and drink it throughout the late morning. My 10 year old had a snickers milkshake and he said that it was the best milkshake he'd ever had. He also ordered the Nutella, strawberry, banana crepe and he really enjoyed it. He ended up eating half and saving the other half for dessert after dinner. I really appreciate good customer service anywhere I can get it. I'll return here with my family, and some friends too. The atmosphere is small and vibey. Cute aesthetic for your social media pics. I can't wait to get my hands on another cup of that coffee.

Parking: You know how Hamtramck is. Get in where you fit in. I was able to park right in front of the building because I went at a good time of day (around 1pm). May have to park on a side street or pay a meter and walk a block or so depending on the day/time“

I ordered a cortado to be safe and the coffee in it was a little harsh (over roasted, for me) so I'd never order a drip coffee here, but my tuna melt tasted good.
