“Our favorite restaurant when we come to Royal Oak! Great food without breaking the bank for a date night.”
“We went for the first time last night, and we absolutely loved it! We could not stop talking about how good the food tasted! We will definitely be back ❤️👏”
“Great place! Paul made us some of his delicious cocktails, and the meatballs were on point. Very creative menu.”
“I loved the experience I had coming to Beppé! The restaurant is so cute, the service was timely, and the food was delicious! Try the seared cauliflower with the cashew butter sauce, it's amazing!”
“We were instantly greeted and seated. Our server Robby was awesome. The entire staff was friendly. Chef Johnny is very talented and friendly. I love that he greets all guest and will even bring your food out himself. For starters we had the shrimp and crab cakes. They were crispy on the outside and melted in your mouth. The surprise with these was that there was whole shrimp inside. We loved it. The sauce on top was just the right amount. The salmon with saffron rice, coconut curry sauce and green apple slaw was the best salmon I've had in a while. The pairing was new for me but it worked. The salmon was juicy and perfectly cooked. When paired with everything on my plate it was like fireworks. Everything popped and was amazing. My husband had the beef strudel. Now he was thinking it was gonna be like a beef wellington but no. When he put his fork into the perfectly crispy flaky crust and into the most tender beef either of us have ever had, OMG. With the first bite all he could do was say "WOW"(sorry about how loud he was). The flavors of that plate were incredible. The blueberry cheesecake was the icing on the cake. It was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet and the smear of lemon sauce on the side elevated the flavors. The drinks. I had the rainforest and my husband had the Johnny Manhattan. When we saw how small the glasses were we were definitely worried. That feeling quickly faded with the first sip. The drinks may be small but they are strong and delicious. We had to pace ourselves with those. Overall, I give this place a 10/10 and will definitely be back again soon. Thank you to everyone there for a great time and for great service.”

“Jen served us on Saturday on the patio & she killed it! Her customer service was nothing short of amazing. Her knowledge of the menu. Her description of the dish I wanted just made me melt. Everything tasted delicious. We didn’t feel rush at all. I Love her personality. Thank you for having us. We can’t wait to visit again.”
“Super friendly service, food had an amazing temperature and super tasty. I must say that they marinated chicken was juicy and delicious.”

“A Californian and a Texan walk into a Midwest Taco joint… and are pleasantly surprised! Fun concept Tex-Mex menu with unique choices of sauces, meats, toppings, and shells to choose from. They have flights of special dips and signature margaritas, allowing for a fun and creative tasting experience starting with apps and drinks. For the mains, you can either build your own or taco/bowl/burrito or choose from one of their signature pairings from a large menu. They have several meat and non meat options to choose from, and our server Colby did an awesome job helping us navigate the menu to create a great Taco Tuesday experience. He took great care of us and made the fun but large menu even more approachable and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend trying it out, just keep in mind that if you are from CA/TX and like things SPICY, that the spice level on all items is geared towards a midwestern pallet aka on the milder side.”
“We love iFreeze! We took our daughter who has Celiac Disease. They have items marked as gluten free on the menu. She had the S’mores ice cream and loved it. They were very knowledgeable about Celiac and cleaned the machines before use. They keep all GF items separated as well. It’s so important to us to have safe places for our daughter to eat and have dessert. Would recommend iFreeze to anyone!”
“We stopped in today for late lunch. So glad we did!!! The food was absolutely delicious!!! I had the zoodle pasta salad! It was the best! Everything was fresh and flavorful. My husband had the superfood bowl. I’m looking forward to make the trip that way again real soon!!”
“At a recent family birthday celebration, I needed appetizers at the last minute. I went to the right people for help! It was no problem for Kal and Ann! They cheerfully made fresh batches of delicious hummus (two varieties) which came with chips and pita bread. I served that, along with two kinds of their fabulous soup, to my dinner guests. Everyone complimented the delicious food Kal and Ann prepared. If you haven’t tried KAL’s Lunch Bowl, located in the Royal Oak Farmers Market yet, I recommend it. You won’t be a “just another customer” ~~ You’ll be a FRIEND!”
“we tried you for the first time tonight at Arts Beats and Eats. was so good! refreshing, flavors were amazing and crunch of toppings were perfect pair. Will visit you again soon and bring the kids!”

“we came in yesterday for a little family dinner. Danny, our server, was newly back to work at Pronto and I've never seen a server work so hard to accommodate people and ensure we were well cared for. the entire staff and clientele were so kind and encouraging. I spent most of the meal examining the lighting fixtures (there are so many!!!), and our family searched for disco balls (also SO MANY!). The food was amazing and the service was fast. we took our 14 year old there for dinner because they needed to see that there are safe, public spaces for them - and the awe and amazement in their eyes the whole time told me that we found our new "regular" spot. the music was fun, the service was spectacular, and the entire vibe was just lovely. and as a lighting nerd, they play with light beautifully, even during a routine dinner service. to the staff at Pronto - particularly Danny - thank you. as a mom trying to figure out how to best parent a child who isn't like me, you gave me immeasurable gifts last night. you gave my child hope for a future as an adult. we love the local youth programming available but it lacks a connection to adults who are thriving and living full, beautiful lives. seeing that in action was everything our kid needed and so much more. thank you.”
“There were a lot of things I loved about this place. First off, I love a good grill & bar when I see one. The server we got (I didn't catch his name) was super nice and friendly. He was eccentric in a way that he cracked jokes with my party. The dirty soda options offer some fun flavors. I got the tropical Red Bull dirty soda (I don't remember what else it had), and it tasted incredible
I had the fan-favorite Rodeo Burger, and I can see why it's a fan-favorite. The burger was so flavorful and juicy. It also comes with a cheese sauce that was so heavenly. The truffle fries were unbelievable. They had such a great flavor to them that I couldn't get enough!
I heard good things about this place before, and it did not disappoint. I truly recommend checking this restaurant out, even if it's just for lunch”
“My wife and I go here a couple of times a week, every Tuesday for sure for Taco Tuesday. They always have a unique special taco that is delicious (it was a take on a Big Mac this week). While primarily a brewery, we're whisky drinkers and they even have specials on cocktails during happy hour. All the food and drinks are fabulous and consistently cooked well, but the draw for us are the staff! Everyone there are always super friendly, always remember us, most have been there for years (or decades in some cases!), and we always feel like Norm walking in in Cheers. Last thing I'll mention is the 432 TV's (ok maybe not that many). If you enjoy sports, they always have games on and no matter where you sit you'll catch the action.”
“Had another great night out at Edo! Fantastic service every time! Brandy was our waitress this time and she was VERY attentive, helpful, kind, and gave us stellar service! I hope you treat your staff well! They are all amazing! Food is always good, consistent, and large portions! Will be back for the service alone but the food is a huge plus!”
“first time participating in drag queen bingo- Soo much fun! A room full of love, joy, laughter, and happiness! thank you queens for being a ray of sunshine in this world”
Takeout Restaurants
“DOC Royal Oak for me is the best option in the Royal Oak area for espresso-based drinks. The loungey seating is better than most places but the ambient music that is always running is a great reason to sit and enjoy a coffee. Excellent selection of tunes with a wide variety ranging from old school funk to modern chill. The roasted coffee selection for purchase rates very well. And the baristas are well-trained in pulling top-tier shots to go along with perfectly frothed milk for your cappuccino or macchiato (my go-to’s)”
“I had 5 broken teeth and 2 large abscesses and couldn't eat much of anything but was starving. I was looking for something soft to gum. Thinking tamales or beans and cheese. Of the options the flour tortilla beef birria seemed to be the best fit. I ordered those, a side of beans and, a side of consomme. Was amazing. Just on the edge of what I can tolerate heat wise (I am a wimp). Great taste. I used the consomme to make birria ramen for a later meal. (Just beef ramen, 2 sticks string cheese, and the consomme). It was also great, very satisfying.”
“ordered from door dash a couple of times and this will be my last. every time, there is something wrong with the order. today, half of the order was missing and packing was so careless that the driver showed up with a container full of food spilled in the bag. As for the food, it has never been great, just okay.”
“I'm definitely going to go in and have a serious meal with my friends. The sandwich is sheer protection. In an age where it's a hit or miss on delivery food, they're shining. If they care about someone they might never see again... I'm in the hospital planning a trip there for lunch tomorrow. I called in for an extra pickle but my food was already made.”
“Food was great, very authentic and fresh. Drinks were good too. Had a margarita and piña colada and the Michigan burrito. Great experience, highly recommend!”

“It was my first time there and not my last !! It’s a delightful, cozy, friendly feeling establishment, everyone working there is an attribute to the business! And the owner is an amazing young women who treats you as if she has known , I so recommend visiting but beware it will be your new favorite place !!!”
“DON’T ORDER ONLINE! CALL INSTEAD!
Prices through the online apps are inflated (even if you pick up yourself). Call and place the order for less. Menu pictures accurate as of 4/13/25. They really need to have a website with or link to the in-store/call-in menu pricing.”
“This place is Very good! Had some of the best Broccoli &Cheese soup I've ever had! Their homemade in-house chips were fantastic. The Ruben was good but wasn't a fan of the sauerkraut, it was way too strong but the pickles were very good. The price was good and the food was very fresh. I will be back!!”
“First time diner and it was a great experience. The Huevos Rancheros was fantastic. It had so many good ingredients, but the best was fresh Chorizo. You could be in Mexican Town. Also, the homemade chicken soup is just like Mom used to make. Staff was friendly and attentive. I will be back.”
“WOW Mediterranean is undoubtedly one of the finest eateries in the Metro Detroit area. As a family-owned and operated establishment, it has become a beloved staple over the years. Every visit reaffirms its consistent excellence in both food and service. Kenny and Brian, in particular, always ensure a delightful experience with their outstanding hospitality and delicious Mediterranean cuisine.”
“Maybe I was just super hungry, but that Hawaiian roll may have been the best sushi I’ve eaten, and that kimchi rice?!?! To die for!! Plus, the service was outstanding. We’ll be back.”
“The perfect, laid back place to enjoy amazing food and delicious cocktails! I am obsessed with the pineapple mule, the make their own infused pineapple vodka. The live jazz on Thursdays is the perfect reason to make this a weekly visit!”

“Patti the cook! OMG! Saturday night, all by herself, no help what so ever! Our waitress said she COULD be behind because she’s on her own so our may take a little longer, we said no problem. That was not the case , we had our food in like 10 minutes! I sat at the bar and watched her do the job of about 3-4 people the rest of the night! She’s amazing! This woman deserves a raise for sure !”
“I had not been to a Beefcarver since I was a kid to the location on 8 mile. Stopped in today to the Woodward location. Food was good, the atmosphere is very nostalgic (I loved it), and the staff was amazing. The gentleman waiting on us was very friendly and very on top of things! We will be back.”
“Really good! Prices were amazing definitely cheaper then anywhere else around there. I ordered an ice vanilla latte and it was ready in what felt like seconds! The cashier was kind the workers were kind! It was quiet and perfect! And definitely one of the better lattes I have had.”
“This review is for the Royal Oak Roast only. The road is full of as*holes , the world going to sh*t more and more. The people in charge care not at all and we are on a very possible path to doom. Why not stop in at Royal Oak Roast? It’s a comfy place with great people watching. The coffee is wonderful and refills are a dollar. So many different coffee choices in all styles, including espresso over over Weiss vanilla ice cream!!! The kitchen, yes I said kitchen has scrumptious food that is presented beautifully with the seasonal selections. All this sound good? Well that’s not even the best part. It’s the staff. It’s a varied collection of kind, hard working people that make you feel welcomed and are always working hard to get your order out to you. Leave the stress behind and relax here with friends and future friends. You will be glad you came”
“This place has great coffee and an awesome vibe. Everyone that works here is great as well. The only thing is that lately they’ve been playing a lot of Arabic music, which kind of makes it feel more like a Middle Eastern restaurant and makes it a bit hard to focus on my work.”
“I arrived on an early Friday night. It was busy. I was seated and I didn’t get a menu until 15 minutes later. After I placed my order, it arrived fairly quickly. I ate the Firecracker roll and the Shoyu Ramen.
I personally don’t like sushi but the firecracker was AMAZING. I’m definitely coming back only for this dish.
Shoyu ramen was 1/10. Don’t bother.
The decor is pretty out dated. The place is wheelchair assessable. There is a parking garage right across this restaurant. There are a few parking spots outside but they were taken up at the time of visit.”
“Update: New owners, but the same wonderful hospitality. It was a pleasure to meet Sam and Taylor at the latest Pick Up Party; they have great plans for MBTB! MBTB always makes us feel welcome. We're Sipper Club members and it's worth joining - special pricing, special events and early notification of our favorite wines from wineries throughout Michigan. Snacks are available to purchase, but we sometimes take our own meat, cheese and fruit tray with us to enjoy there with our wine. It's a great place to meet up with friends too.”
“I have been going to Olga's for more than 20 years in downtown Birmingham, Troy at Oakland Mall, and now usually in Royal Oak. For years the spiral cut French fries have been my favorite fries at any fast casual chain. Yesterday I was at Royal Oak and the fries have changed for the worse. There is a new batter style and they were too salty. Please bring back the old fries!!!”
“You like spicey??? THIS is your place to go.
My spouse loves to order extra hot all the time and never breaks a sweat. 5 minute our food he starts sweating. We both were able to clear our sinuses that night. Lol
On a serious note, food was great. Service as well.
Lots of ppl coming in or ordering, so dead give away on how good they are. Yet not too busy.”
“My server informed me at the very end of my meal that the restaurant has lied to customers for over a year about having gluten free carrot cake and they have just been feeding people with intolerances gluten containing cake. So disrespectful. I got glutened after I spent $200 on my meal and was assured I had chosen gluten free dishes and precautions were being taken. Like look, I get it. Food allergies are a pain in the *ss but if you can't accommodate people with them don't lie to your customers. There are lots of other places in the metro area who do take allergies and medical conditions seriously. Way to ruin my birthday. Im going to be sick for a whole week because I have Celiac Disease. Thanks a ton.”
“Some of the best tacos we have had in Metro Detroit. Way better than Condado's. I would highly recommend, but would be apprehensive so there was always a spot ready for me. The staff was just as equally amazing too. Thank you. 10/10 all day!!”
“Great place with friendly, attentive wait staff. Portion size is very big but so yummy you will enjoy taking some home for later. Even entertainment in the dinner hour.”
“My father and I went in today for the 5 year celebration and our server Tajma was amazing. She knew the beers like the back of her hand and we had a great conversation about local breweries and beers we are huge fans of! Keep up the great work. Also the wings were phenomenal honey sirracha delicious, and the platter had so much amazing stuff we had to take a lot home! We will be back.”
“Hungry after a long day at the hospital, grabbed some cups of mushroom barley and potato soup. Both came with either a roll or crackers. Mushroom barley was good but potato leek was bland. I tossed it after one bite.
I have been to their store in Birmingham snd have enjoyed the soups and salads.
I would recommend this place for quick bites.”
“My food was well prepared, appealing and tasty. My drink was balanced and unique. The wings were tender and well seasoned. I wasn't a fan of the automatic gratuity, but all was well otherwise.”
“The reason why my food rating is low because they were out of everything I wanted to order..every time I go there for the last two times it has been out of lobster or out of something and it happens to be what have a taste for i...other than that I love the restaurant the restaurant it has great food very cozy place. I love going there. I just pray the next time I go I get the lobster that I always wanted and hope I get it next time .. great place grateful great everything just one hiccup counting on the next time I go..”

“Our dining experience was fabulous! Great food, beautiful ambiance, friendly service! One small detail I noticed: the servers / wait staff are not crumbing the tables in between courses or before dessert. Small observation, however, did not take away from the experience. I thought I would mention it because crumbing is an added plus to the fine dining experience of first class service. All in all, we had a fabulous time and will return next month for my husband’s birthday.”

“This cookie was not a dessert — it was a spiritual experience.
The Tres Leches Cake Crumbl Cookie needs to be illegal in at least 17 states. One bite and I ascended to an emotional plane where I briefly forgave my enemies, remembered childhood birthdays, and questioned if I had ever truly tasted moisture before this moment.
The cookie itself? Buttery, soft, just the right level of dense.
The tres leches topping? Creamy, rich, thick without being cloying — like the center of a good hug or the first time someone sees your worth without you asking.
And when that milk-soaked texture hit my tongue?
I audibly said “Mmmmf GOD.”
In public.
I don’t know what type of Latina abuela Crumbl summoned for this recipe, but she worked overtime. And she deserves royalties.
If you get the chance — don’t share. Don’t save. Don’t even tell your friends.
This is one of those “buy two, eat one in the car, cry a little” cookies.
Five stars. Zero regrets. More leche please.”

“As of recently there have been these 2 white skin colored Arabic guys there. Until I gave these new cooks a shot I have been forced to go to the Leo’s in Birmingham, because even the buy one get one uber eats deal is not worth it if the previous cooker had a strong 90% of giving me food poisoning. Always got sick once I ordered and the previous cooks were working. I don’t know if the owner reads his reviews but please I beg of you do not allow this new cook leave this location is of walking distance from my house, it’s now once again the best place to get food again, if your hungry guys and stop by the royal oak Leo’s and you see a younger handsome white skin colored Arabic guy, you must try his food 3rd time I grab my Philly steak from him all 3 times cooked to perfection cheese is not over melted and the bottom of meat is not burned. I refuse to order food from here unless I personally see one of the two new cooks working. If your like me and have lived next door for 5 years and avoided it for the last 4, I promise if you order when these new cooks are working you will become addicted and fall in love all over again 😍☺️”

“My husband and I took our two grandsons for breakfast. The food was fine but our server Maria was exceptional. She was attentive, friendly and professional. Maria is a gem!
Dietary restrictions: We had an egg allergy in our group and there were very limited options but that’s true wherever we go so not an exclusive issue to this restaurant.”
