“What can I recommend at North Star? Mainly LGBTQ+ nights on Tuesdays. But really, you can't miss on any night. Good, healthy food. Excellent bar. Visually appealing space. What's not to like? I'm not going to click any categories below because you can stop by and judge for yourselves.“
“I can’t thank you, Tasty Bakery, enough for coming to the rescue! I called yesterday in search of a dairy free/gluten free birthday cake for myself for today. I knew the chances were slim given how short notice it was but Tasty so graciously said they could make one for me! So so very kind of them and WOW the cake tastes so incredible! I can’t thank Tasty enough for making my birthday.“
“If I could give more stars I would! Every time I visit I am amazed by the kind staff, delicious food, and clean dining space. I often tell my friends that the burrito bowl here is the one dish I could eat for the rest of my life and never tire of. Even my friends who wouldn’t normally touch vegan food leave with their perspectives completely changed! This is a must-visit restaurant, especially for the burrito bowl!“
“This place is all vegan ? I ordered the banh mi and it was pretty good overall. Service was also pretty quick, which was nice. The only downside in my opinion is that the portion size is kinda small so I was still a bit hungry ? even after my meal! Note: this place is usually very busy so be prepared to wait a lil ⏲️“
“If you've never had a cinnamon roll from this place, then you're missing out! I ordered a CYO with chocolate frosting topped with strawberries and blueberries. This was the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. The young lady behind the counter was very kind when answering my questions about the Dole whip and even offered me a sample. I also sampled the cookie dough. Everything was top notch!Dietary restrictions: Dole whip is dairy free. It's like a sorbet.“
“I am a regular at this place to say the least for last 9 years, so I have seen the place transition from a compact 15 table seating to the what it is currently. All vegetarian restaurant and excellent tasting food. You would like each and every item on their menu. All the chaat items are really good. I would definitely recommend to try it if you're fan of chaats. Dahi puri is my go to. Bhature have become less oil over the years but taste of chole has gone down. Pav bhaji is nice and so is puri bhaji. I am not a fan of sambar here, even if I get dosa, I stick to masala dosa and eating chutney and bhaji. Dabeli is also a good option. Mango lassi and Faluda are great but very sweet, if you’re on diet, skip it.As of 2024, they have launched lunch combos which is a great business idea and so is for customer. You can try a meal and chat item for $15 with some dish restrictions.Wait time is usually around 30-45 minutes on late busy Saturday evening, other than that day it's pretty manageable. Service staff is very friendly and even in busy times they’ll make sure you have a good experience.Abundant parking available. Place is clean and has sufficient seating.“
“I'm an Ethiopian food connoisseur. The food here was fresh, and it was served quickly, but it was a bit bland spice-wise. It was still delicious, though, and authentic. The ambiance was great. There was Ethiopian art on the walls. There's even a private room for large parties. We didn't have a reservation but were still seated right away. The location is great. It's in a safe area, close to campus and about a block from a parking garage.“
“So glad I went here. Above and beyond friendly service and great food. I would love to see a place like this in Grand Rapids, but will definitely come back when I'm in the area.Vegetarian options: clearly marked vegan options were are great“
“We order from here often, and this is one of the best vegan friendly restaurants we've been to in Ypsi. The food is reasonably priced and quite good. The hot ginger tonic is incredible too.Vegetarian options: Mostly veganDietary restrictions: Great for vegans!“
