“North Star Tavern absolutely crushed it for our group! We had our reservation double at the very last minute and they not only accommodated us, but were able to get us in earlier too. The host who helped coordinate everything was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. I really wish I had gotten his name because he made the whole experience so easy. And Riley, our server, despite being a Packer fan 😉, was fantastic. She handled our large group like a pro and gave us excellent service the entire time with a smile on her face. Also…that Brussel sprout salad is an absolute banger. 10/10 all around!“

“Food & service was excellent. Minnesota Wild Rice Soup was delicious. My Minnesota cousin said it was the best she'd ever had. The Shrimp and Grits were reminiscent of the best of New Orleans cuisine...just enough spicy with succulent shrimp and creamy grits. Our great waiter (name?/young blondish male) advised well on wine pairing. Cousin had the Artisanal Seasonal Pasta which she found refreshing and rich, but not heavy. Our waiter was excellent, attentive, personable, and professional. Would return anytime, even if just for a bowl of the wild rice soup.“

“Our favorite restaurant in Minnesota, hands down. We’ve tried dim sum in NYC, LA, Boston, Florida, San Francisco, and plenty of other places, and somehow nothing beats the dim sum here. We’ve been coming for years, and it has become our favorite dim sum restaurant of all time.

The regular dining menu is amazing too, but you can really tell how much they care about their dumplings and about staying true to the craft. It’s unreal. The scallop and shrimp dumplings genuinely make me want to shed a tear with how good they are. Every time I come here, I’m somehow still amazed by the entire dim sum experience. My whole family absolutely loves this place. Even the non-dumpling items during dim sum are phenomenal. The crab lollipops were something I had never even seen before coming here, and they might be the best crab creation I’ve ever had. The juicy duck is incredible too.

But one of my absolute favorites has to be the steamed BBQ pork buns. Unbelievable. Truly the best BBQ pork buns I’ve ever had. They even reheat perfectly in the microwave, so I always stock up and bring extras home whenever I go. Truly amazing little buns of happiness.

Every time I walk into this restaurant, I come in with a smile and somehow leave with an even bigger one and a stomach full of ridiculously good food. What makes the experience even better is our server, Jack. He always takes such great care of us. He knows exactly what we like and will sometimes start bringing out our favorite dumplings without us even having to ask. He is genuinely such a kind person and treats me and my family so well every time we come in on a weekend morning. He brightens our day and somehow manages to make an already incredible meal feel even better. We absolutely love this place and hope to keep coming back for many more years.“

We slipped into Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café on the north end, first floor of Mall of America, and for an hour, the world outside could wait. The space was effortlessly elegant, the kind of place where you linger a little longer, and the staff—guided by an attentive general manager—made it feel as if our table was the only one that mattered. We shared the Nordic Crêpe, bursting with savory flavor, and the Bonne Maman—French for good mother and as sweet as its name. I sipped an Iced Strawberry Matcha that was so pretty it felt like wearing pearls before noon. Everything was délicieux, the kind of food you want to both savor slowly and order again immediately. We almost ordered a third crêpe but stopped ourselves, deciding instead to save that moment for another day… with our daughter at the table. Because isn’t the best part of a perfect morning knowing you get to fall in love with it all over again?“

I had ordered takeout from here a few years ago and thought it was good, but Chef Latish obviously has done a lot of work to improve the scope of the menu and the flavors. As a vegetarian, I also appreciate their very large selection of options. My buddy and I ordered the aloo mattar (very good) and the malai kofta (truly outstanding!) and we can't wait to go back! We were there 40 minutes before close so I understand not everything is available, but this restaurant is still open according to the posted business hours and I need a second to re-evaluate my order after being told they’re out of everything I planned on getting. Change your business hours if you don’t want to continue serving food while you’re still open.“
