“The $5 cookie isn't worth it? Well maybe as a gift I usually just bake my chocolate chip cookies from the store in my oven and they're just as good. But if you like fancy weird cookies they change their cookies all the time now that's kind of cool and for a gift people do appreciate getting them. But for a cookie you'll have to take out a mortgage I think a box of cookies is probably like 30 bucks or something like that I only got one cookie and it was like $4 or something. But like I said for a gift for your employees, for a friend, someone that's sick, it is a really nice gift to give and to receive. So I recommend it for this purpose not because you're craving a cookie cuz that'll be an expensive crave.

As one of the best bakeries in the whole world, and one that my family has loved for years, it was a no brainer to order from them when it came to provide food for my grandma's funeral.

I remember walking in to pick up our (very large) order and realizing that I had the wrong pick up time. The pastries were far from ready. Given the grief of the day, I am confident I wasn't a pleasant customer, and I'm confident I didn't take responsibility for my mistake. And yet, rather than send me on my way, the owner and her employees took basically every pastry they had on the shelving and gave it to me, likely at the expense of their current business and their current customers. They then helped me bring my order to my car, and when I offered to help them carry some boxes, the owner told me she didn't want me to get my suit dirty. She said she was sorry for my loss and then went back inside.

The pastries were a hit, but they wouldn't have been possible without Black Walnut's kindness. This review is a thank you and an apology. Thank you for your kindness. I am sorry I was so out of it.

“I haven’t been but someone recently got me a Boston cream donut form here and half to say it was the best Boston cream filled donut Ive had. The cream was perfection. Boston cream tends to be too watery and not custardy enough. This was great though. It was perfect thickness and it had strong vanilla flavor with the signature custard taste. The donut itself was solid and it had the right amount of chocolate frosting. Would recommend!!“

This is my families Perkins of choice passing by two others much closer Perkins just to go to the Maple Grove location. Our server Taylor was attentive, polite and very in tune to our groups needs. WE had 5 dozen cookies and 4 dozen bars, and at this point, even with only about 80 people, there's maybe a handful of each left and they will be gone before the end of the day. We also had kids birthday cake from here this year and it was worth it. They nailed Blueberry cake with blueberry whipped cream. Cake had real blueberries and tasted like good blueberry cake. We gave inspiration pic for train themed cake and they nailed that too with details.

“I love this place! The bakery is fantastic, but I have to practice self control and not go in there every time I come to the grocery store. The grocery store side of the place is a colorful, beautiful, place that just makes me happy when I walk inside. They sell an array of items from cooking vessels, utensils, dishes, to a whole isle of inexpensive spices, fresh produce, meats, and many things specific to Central and South American cooking and cuisine.
