The food, especially the charcuterie boards, was delicious and beautifully presented. Don’t miss out on the French onion soup! Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. A special shoutout to Timothy, the sommelier, who was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us pick the perfect pairings for our meal. “I threw a large surprise birthday party for my partner here and it was awesome. The atmosphere, food, and drinks were great and it was kid very kid friendly. “Flora Room is a gorgeous cocktail bar located behind and beneath Chef Del Prado's steakhouse Porzana. Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity.

I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class!

Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.“

“Small Hours was on my list and although we had little time we could make it for a glass of wine. I loved the atmosphere and how cozy it was. Since I am from Spain I checked both their wine and food menu and I was very pleased with their selection. They closed after we left and Bobby from Phoebe Bridgers started playing - It was just magical to hear it from the very dark street. A 10/10.“

“I have tried just about everything on the menu at Bina's. The Bina Burger (Smashburger) is a two patty wagon burger....SOOOOO YUMNY. The Tendiemelt is enough for two people to share. “Stopped in for the first time. The space was small but set up really well. Many selections of self-pour drinks including wine and mixed drinks. We also ordered 2 of the hot hoagies and an appetizer. I thought the food was a great value. We will definitely be back!“

“Up-Down was a fun little barcade. Games aren't free, but they're generous with the tokens. By the end of the night there was a chain of 3 or 4 groups just paying it forward, passing on unused tokens to others because we had an excess.

The selection of games is good, but not amazing. Quite a few, though, are in varying states of repair. Pinball not connected to the loyalty system, cracked screens, loose joysticks, broken coin slots, out of order cabinets.

Overall we had a great time. Played through the entire Simpsins arcade game and a few other classics, while sipping on some reasonably priced beverages. Definitely a nice night out.“

The staff were friendly and attentive even with a packed house. The food and desserts were amazing, and I really appreciated the variety of non-alcoholic options. The burlesque show was fantastic too — fun, classy, entertaining, sexy and fit the atmosphere perfectly. Volstead's Emporium is one of those places that feels like an experience, not just a night out! Can’t wait to go back!“

“This place is a solid dive bar that takes you right back to the '70s. It's not fancy, just good drinks at great prices. The place is super relaxed, and the crowd is friendly and laid-back. It’s in the heart of downtown. This bar is an adults type place, though—wouldn't recommend bring the kids. If you're looking for a no-frills spot to grab a drink and relax, this is it. Highly recommend!“
