Upon entry, one will be greeted by friendly and attentive staff and see a slew of patrons enjoying traditional cuisine in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The quality of the food is fantastic and the spice and seasonings of the provided dishes are consistent, and really showcase the cuisinier here care about the culinary tastes of their dishes. Perfect for a lunch date or small dinner with the family. Plan for a wait during peak hours due to patron volumes, however the food and experience are truly worth a wait.“

“NO vegetables in Shrimp St. Paul sandwich. Sweet & Sour Shrimp was 1 container of plain white rice, NO vegetables anywhere, the "shrimp" (2/3 plain fried breading & 1/3 shrimp) was NOT cooked in sweet & sour sauce, and packed separately. Quality is now abominable.“

“Well I had my usual Chinese craving that always comes at least once a month. It had been a couple days before I could finally get the time to go get some Chinese. Luckily, for me when this time came I was door dashing in U-City, because I came across this hidden gem. The restaurant itself looks very deceiving, but I had read the reviews so I knew better. I ordered the dinner special broccoli chicken and was surprised that I could add Lo Mein instead of the traditional rice as a side. It was $3 more but well worth it. It also came with a spring roll which was the only thing that I wasn't impressed with. The whole meal cost just under $14 which was well worth it. I also will say this, I ordered carry out and walked quite away back to my car. When I did get back to my car, and went to eat my food, it was so hot that if I hadn't tested it first, it would have given me 3rd degree burns in my mouth. No joke! I have no idea how they had gotten my food so hot, but it was by far the hottest food I've ever experienced and it took quite awhile for it to cool down enough to even begin to eat it. With all this said, this by far was the best Chinese food I've ever eaten! And I've eaten at a lot of different Chinese restaurants. I believe the gravy the food was prepared in was what made the difference and off the chain delicious. I would highly recommend eating here often and yes as soon as I'm anywhere near U-City I'll be stopping in to get more food from here. 5 stars all day long!“

“Hosts were attentive and frequently refilled our water cups. Everything was freshly made and hot despite it was a later dinner for us. Some food was bland (mushrooms) until combined the sauce from another dish. Buffet was reasonably priced at 12.95. We'll definitely be returning!“

“I just moved nearby and was looking for a new Chinese food spot. St. Louis is hit and miss on Chinese food, with mostly a lot of misses. I was super happy that the food was terrific at New China! I had the Kung Pao chicken lunch special. Came with fried rice and an egg roll. It was the best I've had in the area. The crab rangoon and fried dumplings were on point. 10/10, I'll be back!“

“The BEST Chinese restaurant in Saint Louis. I cannot stress how clean the restaurant is and how great the food and service are. It is so hard to find a great Chinese sit down restaurant and this is the place. Fresh, delicious and always hot. I recommend this restaurant to everyone that I know. I especially enjoy Linda the server and how nice and intuitive she is to all her customers' needs. I give this place 5 stars. I absolutely love King Doh. The Best in the Midwest. Thank You!“

The only thing I would advise against is the boneless hot braised chicken... because it is not real hot braised chicken. Instead it is breaded in beer batter and smothered in BBQ or a ketchup type sauce. So all in all stick to the classics you'll be very happy!“

“Food is pretty good. My go to dishes are veg egg foo young, s&s chicken, potstickers. Efy not bad but their gravy needs work. Also, if you get veg fried rice or something you have to also ask for egg in it, & you get charged for EVERY LITTLE THING. They charged me pork efy, minus pork, no minus charge, then charged for veggies. Same w/ the rice. They did similar thing on the lomain we ordered. Crazy. “If you are craving great Chinese food, please consider giving this amazing little place a try. I found them during the pandemic and I think for an entire year while delivery was free on DoorDash I ordered them twice a week. The food was that incredible!

During that time I lived with my roommate and this place hooked us up with amazing portion sizes. We loved the Mai Fun noodles and there was always leftovers even between two people with one order! Honestly I still crave those noodles every few months or so, along with the teriyaki chicken kebabs; even with my regular order, there hasn't been a dish I've disliked so far in 4 almost 5 years.

I've never dined inside the establishment, but when I pick up my order it's always clean, the atmosphere is bustling, and the staff is so friendly. I'm not even ordering their food currently, and I didn't just finish a meal. I just noticed a past order and thought about how I needed to tell everyone how great this place is. 10/5 stars.“

“Best St. Paul sandwich I've found so far. Sometimes a little salty, but still the best I've had. I've tried other food from here, but mainly come for the St. Paul. You can call in a pickup order, which seems to be what most people do. Or you can come wait while your order is being prepared. They have a dining room but rarely have I seen anyone eating there... the wait is usually something like 15 minutes. You ring a bell through the plastic partitioned ordering window when you arrive and someone will come out of the kitchen (if no one is already there) to take your order. This place isn't fancy by any means, and the tables seem like they could use a cleaning. Of note are the plants up front which are seemingly ancient. Lastly, not the St. Paul, but I went in late on a rainy night and had the best egg drop soup I've ever had. It may be because I was the only customer at the time, but I will definitely be back to try for that experience again.

“In the majority of these restaurant/Chinese....what's to be expected but you either call your order in before you go, or order when you get there. The services are not like a real restaurant...hell you can even go to the restrooms in the majority of them. The food is cooked to order and usually be reasonably-priced and good. I can't say even say if they are rude...I have never been treated rude here, your service is simple "How can I help you "give you a total, you pay. You either get a number or they call out what your order number, you get your bag, check it and go. The majority of the places you stand and wait on your food and go. I can say...in the City for me the food is better....at the majority of the all Chinese restaurants. Everyone has their favorite one to go too...but by far the City's restaurants are better.“

“I am a first time customer. The outside looks a little dingy, but don't let that keep you from trying it. In reading the reviews there are a handful of people that have had issues, but many have had a good experience. I had to do a double-take on the lunch menu prices. They are at pre-pandemic levels. In other words, this place is incredibly reasonable. I had the Kung Pao Chicken lunch to go. It was ready in minutes. The egg roll was crispy and hot. For basically $7+tax, try to find a freshly prepared lunch meal anywhere for that. I will be back. I highly recommend this place.“

“I ordered Harold's Chinese food yesterday and was well pleased! Everything was delicious. I ordered the hot braised chicken platter with shrimp fried rice, and crab ragoon. The crab ragoon was sweet, but not too sweet and had a nice balance. I also ordered vegetable egg rolls which were very tasty and crispy. I was very pleased and will definitely eat there again!“

“Best Chinese food in Saint Louis. Best St. Pauls, rice, Rangoons, and eggrolls. Call ahead of time, it won't take that long. When you driving by, don't blink or you'll miss it. Parking "lot" is super small, just get in when you can. And it's one of the last places that still give you a free drink when you spend over $10!! Only thing is the hot wings. They're dry, no sauce. Not my thing, but the wings were still cool.“

I asked for rice without white onion and it was still white onion in the rice. The crab ragoon the way that it was wrapped was the lazy way. It was just folded in half like a triangle. It was good though and and you saw the imitiation crab meat in it.

I have seen staff deflect, and argue with customers when they share their grievance. That is very unprofessional. Please learn how to respect the community that patronize your business daily!!! “The service that I received was A1. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. The St. Paul was probably the best I've ever had. The ingredients seemed very fresh and they sprinkled a little salt on top of the St. Paul patty which was a pleasant surprise for my taste buds. The hot braised chicken is good. The crab rangoon is really good. The fried rice isn't anything to brag about in my opinion though it's not bad by any means. It's a mix between the cities dark fried rice and the county's typical light colored rice. I'd probably opt for steamed white rice next time. My only complaint is that there was a man sitting inside asking everyone for money. He wasn't rude by any means but it made me uncomfortable. With all that said, I'd still go back because the food was really good overall.“
