“We have been trying to get in for months, maybe even years. Yesterday my friend got a notice (from being on the waitlist) there was a table and she was able to get one. And we were thrilled. We got there early, and since we have never been the 4 only bar seats actually aren’t for a bar. So we were turned away to just have a drink. But this was completely on us, and it fully say bar is first come first serve and they we’re very nice about it. We just didn’t know how strict that was. So we went next door for a drink and came back promptly for our reservation.Well let me say this place is worth the wait. Easily one of the best restaurant in St Louis. Our server Mike was amazing. He gave great drink recs and sold every dish with his descriptions. Everything was more than perfect. The food, the staff, the ambience. It all makes perfect sense why this place is jammed. I only hope we can get on the list sooner than later, but we will be trying. 10 out of 10!! Keep it up Wright’s Tavern!!Parking: Easy to find free street parking after 5, but could see how busier days may be more limited.“

“This is a GREAT neighborhood restaurant! Great ambiance in the front room! Very good wine list; we thoroughly enjoyed the Manzone Gramolere Barolo. The food was excellent, and the portions quite large on the Chicken Marsala. One of the specials was Divers Scallops on a bed of risotto, and the scallops were perfectly done. Service after the entree could have been more attentive.“

“If you love food bursting with flavor made fresh to order in a friendly atmosphere you need to go to Jalea! Every time I’ve been here, the experience is 5 stars! The owner and his family are welcoming and value their customers. It’s very apparent in their service and quality of the dishes! I love that there isn’t a 5 page menu to dig through. They have their set menu and they have mastered every single dish! From the arroz con pollo seasoned to perfection, to the seafood ceviche your tastebuds will be dancing with delight! You must start with the plantain chips (1 order is not enough lol) and finish off with their tiramisu and Colombian coffee made fresh to order! So glad to have found this place! Call ahead on a weekend night, it is definitely worth any wait!“

“Such a cool vibe at this well decorated Latin American fare restaurant! Our family went there for brunch so had both the brunch & lunch menus available to us - the empanadas that we treated as starters were phenomenal and so many choices for the mains. Corey was our server and he was phenomenal, embodying the can-do, customer-first spirit.....and super friendly. Cant wait to go back there for a dinner next time!“

“Our server Josh (yes, coincidence) nailed it. Attentive but not overbearing. The cocktails were a hit too, and I'd recommend the Apple Bottom Jeans and the Violet Mojito.My wife and I stuck to small plates as we weren't in the mood for large plates. The lobster roll was out of this world, and while it looks small, they manage to pack so much delectable lobster into it. The pork belly was also incredible though it was light on the amount of pork belly in it. The spam fried rice was really good. The chili flakes elevate the entire plate, but if you don't like spicy food, I might suggest you get something else. Finally, the cheddar biscuits...they weren't very good. They were a bit tough, not fluffy, and were portioned in a way that made them awkward to eat (too tall). I would not recommend the biscuits. But overall, great experience, 4.5/5.“

“We went there at around 7:50pm. We didn't have any reservations and the wait time was 45 mins.When we finally got our table the wait time for food was minimal. We started with freshly baked soft bread while waiting.The food was delicious. Capellini alla Zia was my favorite followed by Cannelloni. The server was very nice and attentive.The ambience was nice but too loud, lol ?I suggest book a reservation if you want to avoid long waiting time.“

“We were excited to try the Tavern tonight for the first time. We were a bit underwhelmed. I only got 3 scallops for a $45 entree (even Disney will give you 4 for the same price). Additionally, the fries and baked cookie had a burnt aftertaste from the oven. For $150, we thought it was significantly overpriced for what we got.“

“Can be a little loud when they are busy. Food is good and you get lots, won't leave hungry.Parking: Depending on how busy they are, sometimes parking is not great. Restaurant shares parking with a convenience type store/sandwich shop, and I believe a laundromat around the corner.“

The server was very good, we didn't have to wait for anything, drinks were very good the Hanger steak & fries was the absolute best Hanger steak I've ever had, the chimichuri was a great compliment to the steak. My husband had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo it was amazing, the sauce had the best flavor and the chicken was cooked perfectly. We definitely will be back!!“

“This is a VERY nice restaurant in Clayton. I didn't realize it was fine dining and showed up in a hoodie and jeans. At first, I was concerned that I would be turned away or treated differently because of my attire, but that wasn't the case. We ( my son and I) were led to a booth and ordered drinks. My son ordered a burger, which looked delicious. He confirmed that it was. I ordered the lobster bisque, and it was to die for!! Velvety smooth and full of chunks of lobster! Honestly, the BEST lobster bisque I've ever had! For dessert, we had cheesecake, and again, it was divine!The atmosphere is beautiful!! You are immediately filled with a sense of calm. Its the kind of place you would take someone for a very special occasion...like a marriage proposal. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. “This was a night out with my brothers and friends. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The drinks were okay. The bloody mary was simple, not much zing to the taste. It was kind of bland. “This is in contention with the fanciest place that I've ever had dinner. I had the steak and mashed potatoes, both of which were the best that I've ever had. I added a succulent bone marrow butter that I still think about from time to time. The service is top notch as you would expect.If you are driving you have to valet park. Be prepared for that. Also, plan to spend money. It was the most expensive ticket that I've ever had.“

I have heard people say that it's pricey and of course it is because this isn't your average Mexican restaurant. The menu is small plate oriented and the menu ismore like a tasting menu. The food is higher end than all the other places and outstanding. I can't comment on their drink menu because I seldom drink when going out. I will say that the pricing seem to be a bit higher than most places which will account for a higher per person ticket if one has two or three drinks. Still, our total was $70 ore tip for 2 people including 2 beers.The wait time between "courses" is a bit long but not enough for me to really complain about. The staff were friendly dmv knowledgeable about the menu. It may not me a place we'll go to monthly but we will definitely be back!“

“We had such a great experience at Hodaks and will definitely be back! Our food was great. The service was quick and very friendly. We had two babies with us and multiple staff stopped to wave at them and make silly faces making us feel very welcome. The restaurant, including the bathroom, was spotless. Highly recommend!“

The atmosphere is open and welcoming. I have my place at the bar that provides me with a great spot to view all the action. “Let me just preface this by saying I moved here from South Texas and have spent more than my fair share of time in Old Mexico. In years of searching for REAL Mexican food in St Louis, I’ve had many disappointments. This place was absolutely fantastic and pure pleasure for an old Texan. It even made me shhh my wife because I wasn’t willing to remove my focus from the delicacy I was partaking in. Can’t recommend this place enough and haven’t been able to stop telling others about it. “Listen......I ordered from Marie's SS for the first time today. Wowwwwww. My food was so good, I called the store and talked to Jessica(a sweetheart) while I was eating. That RARELY happens. I should've known the way someone from the store wrote my name on the delivery bag that I was in for a treat. I took a picture of that too. Lol. I ordered the wings&fries, barbecue polish, tacos, and banana pudding. EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY SMASHING. I'm trying to keep this review short, but it ain't working. “This restaurant has such a nice ambiance and peace about it. I loved the atmosphere and the waitresses and waiters were phenomenal. However, for me the food was presented well, but a bit bland for my liking thus the 3 stars. Overall a nice place to try.Parking: There is plenty of free parking on the lot. It also sits on a joining lot with a hotel. Also a nice amount of handicap parking in front of the entrance.“

“Hidden gem! Despite being hidden in a rather boring strip mall Cowbron truly stands out as a great Mexican restaurant. It's a relatively new spot, and as I mentioned it's pretty unknown, so don't expect to wait long for a table. I personally have eaten here about 5-6 times and have yet to wait for a table on a Thursday or Friday night. Don't be fooled, they are amazing but quite off the map in terms of nearby restaurants, which is how I account for their low wait times. The food is great! The fajitas are large portions, enough for two to split after a couple baskets of chips and queso, and they have THE BEST CARNITAS I have ever had in my entire life. As a former chef I can definitely speak to this as carnitas are a dish that take time and thoughtfulness to be done great, both of which are evident once you've tried the tender meat on offer here. As a regular to Mariachis II and La Catrina I can tell you that this place has earned a spot in my top 3 favorite Mexican joints in the city. Go to Cowbron!“

“Called ahead to have someone to come out to get my take order to go. I need assistance in getting out of car. They came out to take my order at the curb ( told me the whole menu) then told me to park in the back and they brought me my order to go. IOrder the steak sandwich . It was delicious really full of meat ( asked to cut in 3rd,) it came with chips and I also ordered of the 1/2 lb potato salad ( it was excellent ) I got two meals . Out of that order. Yummm.“

When I found the Fishhouse, I realize I had found a home.. it’s a family owned business, and their fish is fresh and fried well. “Pretty solid. Was our first time having Indian, so this was a new experience. We got the dinner for 2, the soup was super good! The chicken tikka masala and the lamb curry was nice, though my lamb had a super crunchy bit that I couldn’t tell what it was. Not as spicy as I was hoping for but I was happy. The rice pudding they gave wasn’t very good, had a muted taste. The bread was excellent. Service was okay, the servers weren’t very chatty and we had like 4 different people checking in. “I have been to this place a few times and it's been consistently good. They have a great ambiance and service. We tried the 4 pork gnocchi and the spicy shrimp diablo. Both the dishes were very good. We tried a few of their cocktails - a few different Mezcal cocktails and it was good. They have happy hour every day from 3-6 PM. For dessert, we had the beignets. So, as we're walking through the door later that night, when we FINALLY got home, the first thing my daughter said was RICE!! So we ate the leftovers. That was probably the clearest thing I've heard this girl say besides No, Mama, and Juice. Thank You Guys So Much!!! If ever I get another chance, I'll be back. “My son’s took me to this place for my birthday brunch. He reserved a table so I highly recommend you check availability to avoid long wait time. Our waitress Mone’ was Awesome ?? she had our table set and ready upon our arrival.
