“This has always been a comfort to go to with all my friends and one of my regular hangouts. You get to know everyone. The drinks are reasonable and the service is fast. Karaoke, friends, pool, drinks and food are an awesome combination in my book!!“

“Lonnie's Reno Club serves up fantastic jazz with great food and a positive vibe. The staff is super friendly, and the food is top-notch. Trust me, you won't find an experience like this anywhere, and Lonnie's talent is unmatched. Definitely worth going – you won't be let down. We have been 4 times and will be back again soon. Every time is such a different experience. I really can't say enough great things about this show, it is my favorite and I have been to a lot of shows :)“

“A typical, quick, breakfast place with the usual selection of breakfast fare except no hashbrowns offered.Service was excellent - staff asked if I was new to the area as "it's usually a local spot".Wheelchair accessibility: Normal sized doorways, however not sure if automatic doors openers were present.“

“We (Me, wife, and daughter) were there for lunch. My wife and I shared The Pig Flatbread and ordered my daughter fries and chicken tenders. We flatbread was delicious! My daughter normally doesn’t eat anything from a restaurant except fries or bread. We tried the chicken tenders just in case she changed her mind. She tried the chicken along with their housemade ketchup, which she typically rejects sauce, and she loved it. We ordered drinks and they were good too. The chef/owner greeted us at the end which was a nice end to lunch. Our waiter and hostess were great as well. Overall, it was a five star experience!“

“We had only been to Rockhille Grilel once before and didn't have a great experience. Buuuut, we decided to give it another try during their Happy Hour. I got their Bruschetta and it was the BEST I've ever eaten and so delightfully plated. Simple, yet classic. Our server, Trevor was EXCELLENT. The Rockhill Grille will DEFINITELY be on our, "regular" list“

“My grandmother and I came in early in the evening. We were guided to a table almost immediately despite not having a reservation and the seat was nice because we got a good view of everything happening around us. Our server went above and beyond: constantly checking in if we needed anything and asking how the food tasted as well as boxing up our food for us. The food was extraordinarily delicious, definitely not store bought sauce! I kept thinking how I’d love to bring more of my family in the future. Thank you for a great meal and excellent service!“

“In the city's heart lies a gem where cuisine is elevated to art. The restaurant, with its modern, clean lines, exudes confidence and sophistication, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. Our journey here was remarkable, thanks to the kitchen's inventive use of ingredients, turning each dish into a visually stunning and deliciously surprising masterpiece. The service was another highlight, with attentive staff enhancing our enjoyment and making us feel part of the restaurant's family. A special mention goes to our second night at the Chef's counter, where friendly banter and culinary insights enriched our meal. This isn't just a place to eat; it's where food becomes an experience, blending taste, presentation, and warmth into something unforgettable. If you're looking for a vegetarian meal that will impress and delight, this restaurant is your destination.“

“Very cool room hidden off the alley. Had an Italian Beef (Jim's Beef) and had low expectations. Being from Chicago I was a bit snobby about anyone else outside of the Windy City doing an IB right. My apologies. Great sandwich. The bread was perfect. Tender, juicy meat. Giardiniera nice and spicy. My only gripe would be the lack of fries as a side. I had the jalepeno slaw and it was good, but fries are the natural side to a lovely beef. Will be back.“

“Best espresso martini and cocktails I've had in KC in a long time. Food and desserts were excellent, and it was so fun to take a cocktail around the art museum after dinner. Our server was so enthusiastic about the history of the place, it really made the experience.“

“Great dining experience! We sat at the chef’s counter and it was so cool to sit in front of the fire and watch all the food being made. The waitress was friendly and professional and made some great recommendations. She recommended 5-6 plates for the two of us. I highly recommend starting with the Clara Bow rolls. They are as good as everyone says they are. The croquettes and the bone marrow were also two of our favorites, but every dish was amazing and well presented. Overall, we may have found a new favorite restaurant in KC. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to makes reservations as the place was quite busy. Also, check out the hotel bar if you have some time before or after.Update: We’ve been back several times now. You can’t go wrong here. Everything is amazing! Highly recommend!“

“We were staying at the Hampton Inn downtown and were looking for a good restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. The city market area has about a dozen restaurants to choose from, so we chose this one. It was an excellent choice. The restaurant is very bright due to having a lot of windows, as well as many light fixtures inside. We started with the shrimp toast appetizer, and it was outstanding. It contained toasted pieces of baguette covered in gold shrimp, moray, chives, Sriracha, nuox Cham cauliflower, and sesame crunch. I could just eat that dish again for my dinner. For entrees, we had the Bahn MI sandwich and the grilled quail. The Bahn MI consisted of pork meatballs, bacon pate, pickled vegetables, chili aioli, banana ketchup, chili oil and cilantro. It was very flavorful but a little spicy. My husband had the grilled quail. He loved it. It was accompanied by ginger-lime fried rice. We would definitely return.“

“The atmosphere is great, the food was amazing, and cocktails were delicious! We ordered four dishes to share between two of us which was filling (they recommend 4 to 5). The food did take longer than expected to come out, but their customer service is unmatched!Dietary restrictions: They ask when you sit down if you have any dietary restrictions. They then mark the menu with which dishes to avoid.“

“Good Mac and cheese place. We got the BBQ Mac which was of course super good. The BBB Mac which had SO MUCH bacon, it was a bit sweeter but still really good especially with all the bacon. And we got the fried Mac bites. Those were decent. Breading was super good on the and super crispy.Place is small with limited seating. Defiantly designed for the corporate clientele in the area. Self serv kiosk to order and looked to be one person behind making the food. He was supper apologetic of the wait (we didn’t wait long. Maybe 10 min). Nice little quick bite but better as take out instead of sitting to eat.“

“I hadn't been to a Stroud's since the one in South KC on 85th St slid into the creek. The food was still amazing the cinnamon rolls still rock and the chicken fried steak is still amazing. The service was pretty standard, good not above and beyond. Which is fine. The view out the window to the pond is amazing but they shove in too many tables. Overall, excellent. Exactly as I remembered.“

“For our last meal in KC we booked The Farmhouse for breakfast. Located nearby City Market it is a wonderful and very busy farm to table place. I ordered the brisket tamale with eggs, Cotija cheese, and microgreens. It was fantastic. I never get fresh tamale as back east and this was a joy to eat. Every bite was fantastic. My Daughter got the lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon. She loved it. The coffee was good and string a d the service was exceptional. If I'm in KC again this is a definite. Put it on your bucket list“
“Elise at Toms Town was amazing. She gave a great tour and the tasting with her was so fun. She has us addicted to the double oak Bourbon! If you do not drink bourbon, you can still enjoy the tour. “The food here is amazing. I’ve been here 3 times and nothing was short of great. I’ve had the carnitas Mac n cheese appetizer (amazing), the crab and shrimp ravioli, the burger, and the chicken poblano. They make their food from scratch so it does take a little longer, but if you order an appetizer it doesn’t make it seem as long. Service could have been a bit better but it looked like only 2 servers had the whole floor. Great atmosphere and great music playing the whole time. I love this place!“

“The food was plentiful and fantastic. This is a small dive, but worth the hype. I hope it won't be torn down for the new baseball stadium. I definate plan to go back. “So my husband and I don't like to eat out often. Our son is Autistic and it just isn't fun for us to bring him places because he RARELY sits still, and he's a decently picky eater. Well, I'm pregnant with our second baby and happened to be pregnant for my birthday. We invited some family members out with their kids and had a decent sized party to go out to eat since I have been craving a really good steak. Though they don't take reservations, they were able to accommodate me calling early in the week and assist with the steps on how we can ensure enough seats with a lower wait time. I called Sunday morning, and they assisted further, saying we needed to call 2 hours before we'd actually be showing up since the waitlist only accommodates up to 2 hours. Totally fine, and I did that because we had 7 adults and 6 kids ages 5 and under. My husband and I decided to share a "texas sized meal" since I'm in my third trimester and I can't eat a whole lot. It absolutely filled the both of us up! Our son needed a booster seat and sat in that pretty well. The only thing I had a hard time with was how loud it was in the restaurant. Again, our son is Autistic and doesn't like a bunch of noise, so by hour 1, he was ready to go. In total, it took us almost 2 hours to sit, order, get our food, eat, and slightly socialize. It was a very busy Sunday, so I anticipate that would contribute to the long time. I'm sure we will be back again. They're my favorite steakhouse.“

“This could be your go to sandwich shop, if you give it a try. The staff is very helpful, friendly......, as well as the rest of the Boy Scout law. Their breakfasts are also excellent. When family members come to visit, they ask to go to Huey's on the Square. As I often see people I know, it is a great gathering spot and several major newspapers are available to read at your leisure. All in all, this restaurant will take you back a little way in time (notice the tin ceiling) but it won't set you back financially.“

“Good food. My daughter ordered hot chicken sandwich and it was covered in hot chili oil. It was too hot for her to eat. We asked the waitress if that was normal amount of hot chilies on it and she said yes. And my daughter said "that's okay I didn't pay attention when I ordered to what the menu said" . We didn't ask for them to take it off but they did. Appreciated the good service. I will be back.“

“The food was good and the service was mostly good … until our bill came to 52.54 and our server brought back change for $53. Please do not assume that a customer does not want his/her change. “I had the pleasure of visiting Rays Thunderbird Tavern recently and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Jacob, our server, provided exceptional and attentive service throughout our visit. It was evident that the tavern had recently reopened after facing some challenges related to business ownership, but they have truly managed to turn things around. One of the highlights of Rays Thunderbird Tavern is their revamped menu, which now includes a variety of finger foods. While these options were delicious, I would suggest adding some healthier choices to cater to a wider range of preferences. Nonetheless, the prices at this establishment are incredibly competitive, especially when it comes to their drinks. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a Bud-Light was priced at just $2.75, even outside of happy hour. For my meal, I ordered the chicken tenders, which came with a side of delicious fries. I expected the typical dry and thin bar food, but to my delight, the chicken tenders were meaty and moist. The seasoning was just right, not overly salted. My only recommendation would be to serve a few ounces more of sauce or provide an extra container, as the tenders would benefit from a little more sauciness. In addition to its other offerings, Rays Thunderbird Tavern boasts several pool tables and a couple of arcade games. This adds an extra layer of entertainment for those looking to have some fun while enjoying their time at the tavern. If you're a fan of karaoke, you're in luck! Fridays at Rays Thunderbird Tavern are dedicated to karaoke nights, where you can showcase your singing skills or cheer on your friends as they take the stage. It's a fantastic opportunity to let loose and have a blast with fellow patrons. On Saturdays, the tavern takes it up a notch with a live DJ starting around seven in the evening. The energetic beats and lively atmosphere make for a memorable night out. Whether you're dancing the night away or simply enjoying the music, the live DJ adds an extra touch of excitement to your weekend. With pool tables, arcade games, karaoke, and a live DJ, Rays Thunderbird Tavern truly has something for everyone. It's the perfect place to unwind, have some fun, and create lasting memories with friends. So, gather your crew and head over to the tavern for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.Opportunity: alternative food options“
