I've had German beer all over the US, and many more in Germany, and I can honestly say that this brewery has the *best* Marzen I've had Stateside. Make this a stopping point if you're in this area. “Such a wonderful Vineyard - you can even stay in one of the glamping tents on property! Quiet and beautiful with live music on the weekends. They have charcuterie, breads, and snacks or bring your own and enjoy a sangria / glass of wine. Great place to visit and relax!”

“I'm a first generation Sicilian, so I grew up on the cooking of my Nona and mother; so I set a high bar of standard. The food was better than the average Italian restaurants that you will find in a strip mall. The service was wonderful and fast. I regret that I don't remember the name of the young gentleman that was our server. The bathroom was terrible...enough said. Portions are quite large. It's too bad that they, like many businesses, don't offer military/veteran discounts. If it wasn't for those of us who served, so our Country can afford those the luxury of freedom, businesses would not be able to operate, as they now do. "Freedom does not come for free". All in all, I rate them 31/2 stars.”

“My husband and I recently went to Banner Elk to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. We stopped in at The Village for a couple drinks and an appetizer. It was amazing!!! Our server was Derek and he was fantastic! This is definitely a place we will visit again. Excellent wine and food selections.”

“My wife and I discovered the Pedalin Pig 4 years ago while in town for the Grandfather Mountain Scottish Highland Games. We have since returned on our last two visits. The menu has many offerings and the meat is extremely tasty and tender. I can’t imagine being in the area and not enjoying the Pedalin Pig. We will be back! See you next July!”

This is my second time visiting Fred and Larry’s Coffee Shop in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The first time was September 13, 2021; the ending stages of COVID so customers were not allowed in the shop. I ended up drinking coffee outside with three local gentlemen; one of the them was Larry. He is an owner and a Marine Veteran. We had some good laughs and I learned a lot about Banner Elk and the surrounding area.

After visiting Fred and Larry’s Coffee the first time, I realized I wanted to make exploring local coffee shops a part of my life; and here I am almost 500 coffee shops later.

On my second trip I enjoyed a cortado while relaxing on Fred and Larry’s big comfy leather couch. The barista was super friendly. She is definitely an incredible asset to the shop.

Thank you Fred and Larry for making delicious coffee and providing a relaxing setting to meet new people and dream up new adventures in life.

“We stopped here today with 20 motorcycle riders and they were amazingly accommodating. Thankfully they have lots of seating and great staff. The food was also excellent, get the dessert!!! Lots of variety on the menu and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.”
