“My wife’s food tasted bland like hospital food. No seasoning at all. Her hardshell taco was basic ground beef cooked with cheese on it on a hard shell and then her beans were bland. Tasted like hospital food although Hospital food has more seasoning than this did. I got ACP Texano and it was good but the steak was tough and chewy. Not worth $42“

“Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and craft beer on tap! My family and I love this place. My only complaint would be that last time we were here, someone at the table next to us had a dog in a tote bag that was most definitely NOT a service animal. Not one staff member said anything to her. This is a problem for me as I suffer from severe animal allergies. In addition, I don’t feel it is sanitary to bring animals in an establishment where food is being sold/served. Like I said, we love this place, but if this becomes a habit we will have to find another place to go. ☹️“

I went to an expensive Teppanyaki restaurant in Winston this weekend and I was surprised when I realized that the food at Carolina Sakura was better. “Have been a few times over the years with really mixed reviews, a lot of what I've had has been hit or miss, this last trip however however has changed my view and hopefully will show some promise for future brews! I've on average rated what I've tried 2-3 range at most except for a rare 3.5/4 for a sour, but their gose was not bad at all and the dually loaded DIPA (and I am NOT an IPA person) is DELICIOUS, by far the best beer I've had from them! I hope to see this level of quality in future beers!“

“Had a great lunch at Shinko Grill. The sesame chicken was great, and the soup and salad were exactly what you’d expect, fresh and satisfying. They offer many lunch menu options, so there’s plenty to choose from, and the restaurant has plenty of seating which made for a comfortable dining experience. Outdoor seating is available as well.“

“I thought I would never again taste food like my Aunt Hattie made it, but today a friend took me to University Kitchen for lunch, and I had green beans, stewed cabbage, fried chicken livers, and cornbread. It was like going back in time to my Aunt Hattie's kitchen and once again tasting good old country cooking at its best. They have managed to keep those great vintage recipes alive, and I now have a new favorite restaurant. Everyone who worked there was amiable and on top of service. It was great!“

“TERRIBLE. Went there for birthday celebration. Took 45 minutes for waitress to take our order. Husband got skunky beer. Food came out a couple at a time with about 5 minutes in between (there were 12 of us but there were only about 8 other people in the restaurant). My 4 year old granddaughter ordered pasta and marinara. After everyone else finally got their food I asked the waitress where her food was. Her reply: we don’t have any marinara, here’s some macaroni and cheese. She never said they didn’t have what she ordered and never asked what else she wanted. I never received a refill of my soda in the 2 hours we were there. And finally, it took the waitress another 30 minutes to take care of the tab. To top it off the food was mediocre at best“

“The building and inside dining area appeared clean and well-kept when I walked in. I stopped by to grab a tuna sub, and the sandwich itself tasted pretty good and hit the spot.
However, there were a couple of things that kept this from being a top-notch experience. First, My server wouldn't let me use my coupon because they already had a daily special running, which felt a bit restrictive since you'd expect to be able to use a valid coupon anytime before the expiration date. The service was okay and the person making the sandwich was polite enough, but the transaction felt a little rushed and hurried through.
Down on the food line, I also noticed that some of the ingredient containers weren't completely filled up. No matter what time a customer walks through the door, those bins should look fresh, stocked, and ready to go.
Overall, the food is good and the place is clean, but the rushed pace and the empty containers mean it doesn't quite hit that highest mark. It’s a fair, decent spot, but there’s room for improvement on staying on top of the food line.“
