“My wife’s food tasted bland like hospital food. No seasoning at all. Her hardshell taco was basic ground beef cooked with cheese on it on a hard shell and then her beans were bland. Tasted like hospital food although Hospital food has more seasoning than this did. I got ACP Texano and it was good but the steak was tough and chewy. Not worth $42“

“Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and craft beer on tap! My family and I love this place. My only complaint would be that last time we were here, someone at the table next to us had a dog in a tote bag that was most definitely NOT a service animal. Not one staff member said anything to her. This is a problem for me as I suffer from severe animal allergies. In addition, I don’t feel it is sanitary to bring animals in an establishment where food is being sold/served. Like I said, we love this place, but if this becomes a habit we will have to find another place to go. ☹️“

The cheeseburger lettuce, tomato and mayo is my favorite cooked medium with extra crispy fries and a good cold Pepsi makes it all so good. COME ON OVER AND GET YOU SOME BREAKFAST OR LUNCH. “Have been a few times over the years with really mixed reviews, a lot of what I've had has been hit or miss, this last trip however however has changed my view and hopefully will show some promise for future brews! I've on average rated what I've tried 2-3 range at most except for a rare 3.5/4 for a sour, but their gose was not bad at all and the dually loaded DIPA (and I am NOT an IPA person) is DELICIOUS, by far the best beer I've had from them! I hope to see this level of quality in future beers!“

“There are only two restaurants we stop on our way to Washington DC whenever we do a road trip to meet our family in DC, one of the restaurant is this and every time we enjoyed it. The food is very delicious and priced reasonably. The staff is good and the interior of the restaurant is nice and clean , well suited for a big party. “I thought I would never again taste food like my Aunt Hattie made it, but today a friend took me to University Kitchen for lunch, and I had green beans, stewed cabbage, fried chicken livers, and cornbread. It was like going back in time to my Aunt Hattie's kitchen and once again tasting good old country cooking at its best. They have managed to keep those great vintage recipes alive, and I now have a new favorite restaurant. Everyone who worked there was amiable and on top of service. It was great!“

“I really enjoy the food at Fire & Sticks and have always had good experiences with the restaurant, but I was disappointed with something on my most recent takeout order.

I ordered four soups to go and noticed that a 15% gratuity was automatically added to the order. I generally tip on takeout orders anyway because I appreciate the staff preparing and packaging everything, but I don't agree with automatically charging a 15% gratuity for takeout.

To me, there is a meaningful difference between dining in, where a server is taking care of your table throughout the meal, and picking up an order at the counter. I'm happy to tip for good service, including on takeout, but I think the amount should be left up to the customer.

The food is still excellent, but tipping culture has gotten out of hand when a 15% gratuity is automatically added to a to-go order. Unfortunately, that's a policy I just can't endorse.“

“TERRIBLE. Went there for birthday celebration. Took 45 minutes for waitress to take our order. Husband got skunky beer. Food came out a couple at a time with about 5 minutes in between (there were 12 of us but there were only about 8 other people in the restaurant). My 4 year old granddaughter ordered pasta and marinara. After everyone else finally got their food I asked the waitress where her food was. Her reply: we don’t have any marinara, here’s some macaroni and cheese. She never said they didn’t have what she ordered and never asked what else she wanted. I never received a refill of my soda in the 2 hours we were there. And finally, it took the waitress another 30 minutes to take care of the tab. To top it off the food was mediocre at best“

“My family brought me here for my birthday. The service was great. We went when it was a little later in the evening so it was quiet, aside from my family. I got the T-Bone. It was cooked perfectly to a beautiful medium rare. The rice I had with it however was extremely salty. Other than that, it was fantastic.“
