We stayed on the property as well and found the check in process to be quick and easy, ALL of the staff were friendly and accommodating! Our room was very well stocked and clean!! As my aunt said, it is a hidden gem of High Point and it comes highly recommended!!“

“I thought I would never again taste food like my Aunt Hattie made it, but today a friend took me to University Kitchen for lunch, and I had green beans, stewed cabbage, fried chicken livers, and cornbread. It was like going back in time to my Aunt Hattie's kitchen and once again tasting good old country cooking at its best. They have managed to keep those great vintage recipes alive, and I now have a new favorite restaurant. Everyone who worked there was amiable and on top of service. It was great!“

I kept thinking, I could have gone to Publix and gotten a better sub that would have been $3 cheaper. “Went in yesterday and a diner had her dog sitting with her in the chair as she ate at the bar. I was told the dog had a "certificate," which people can get for 99 cents online if they want to impose their "emotional support" dog on other people in restaurants. Restaurants and coffee shops need to follow NC code, which allows service dogs but not emotional support pets. I left and I doubt I will go back, but I will miss the onion rings and local atmosphere. It's a good place if you don't mind eating with dogs. But I'm done with this nonsense.“

“Great place to watch a game..just be prepared to ask for a TV to be changed. Have been there a couple of Sundays and 1/3 of the TVs are usually on something other than football. Food is your standard Hooters food, the girls are above average and great servers.“

“I love this place. I learned about it a few years in Our State. I have been going here every since. The staff is very friendly. Dennis is so nice. I have to have my chicken wings, even if I get the fried fish, I still have to get a least one chicken wing. I will be going back again tomorrow. I have to get some potatoe salad for my Mom. She loves it. The breakfast is great. They get you a nice portion. I live in Greensboro,but I'm in high point a lot, so that's my favorite restaurant there. The guy that takes us order is my buddy. “Omg so I decided to try this place after it was recommended by a friend, let me just say I’ll be back for lunch tomorrow and bringing home extra! The lady who took my order was also very sweet, she listed all the sides for me and their was so many I didn’t want to make her repeat them all again so I found a menu and chose from there. I’m not a fan of pork fatback cabbages so the spicy cabbages they had were mmm so good, the greens were tangy just how I like and the Mac and cheese don’t get me started on that, I just about ate my whole serving before I pulled out of the parking spot and almost turned back for more, I can’t wait to come back and try more of their food! Don’t forget to wash it down with their lemonade which is just how I like it sweet! If they were open later I’d come back today with my family for dinner! They don’t disappoint!“

“While I was shopping in the Archdale/High Point, NC area, I decided to stop in at BBQ Joe's Country Cooking restaurant for lunch on a Sunday.
It was about 2 pm & I expected the usual crowded conditions but encountered only a group of 5 fellow Veterans who were just leaving. I, of course, enjoyed a good session of discussion with them out in the parking lot before going in.
I was met quickly by the friendly cashier at the order counter. Placed my order for Chopped pork BBQ sandwich with coleslaw added onto it, an order of fries & a drink cup for a dine in experience.
As I went to the self serve soda dispenser with had a selection of Coke products, I looked around the completely empty, clean restaurant. Picking a secluded booth area where I could view the front door & order counter area & kitchen, I had a seat. It wasn't very long when my plate arrived with a heaping full bun of chopped BBQ Pork along with a very generous serving of French fries. I added some house BBQ sauce that was there at the table along with some other condiments & took my first bite of purely delicious BBQ Pork. Uum, uum! So good! The kindle cut fries were freshly cooked, warm & had just the right, crispy, crunchy texture.
After a pleasant 30 minutes or so of quite dining, the server brought me the bill & I proceeded to pay at the cashier counter after getting a soda refill. I left a generous tip & the entire bill was only about $21. Well worth the price for the tasty, pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant if you are in the mood for some excellent BBQ.“

“Clean, cute place. I wasn't aware that there was so many options here. I thought it was just a place where you ordered ham or turkey for occasions. There is so much more. If you look online at the menu, you'll want to go to the "lunch menu" to find individual sandwiches. These are available all day! Wish I would've known this long ago!!
The food was amazing and the portions are enough for 2 ppl! So don't scoff too much about the price. Its well worth it!!“

“Good food and great prices especially for the portions. It might not be obvious but it's heavily Greek influenced and is fairly authentic considering its called a sub shop. The chicken filet sandwich is really just two really good and large chicken tenders and I hope they never change it, its one of the best chicken sandwiches around“
