“Was passing through town. Place is great. Was a little busy so we sat at the bar. Nice selection of beer. I got tuna burger. It was really good. Wife got chicken burger. Said it was good also. Really great bartenders. Wish one was in raleigh“
“I am a Greensboro fan with so many good local eateries to choose from. Freemason Grub & Pub is no exception. The signage is challenging in the dark, but the exterior green lights likely leftover from St. Patty's helped identify them. It's an adorable two story brick with wonderful character. Parking is off street or in their own small lot in the rear.My wife and I cut our arrival a bit close after 830 with a weekday closure of 9. The interior offers a cozy vibe with wood floors, exposed brick and dimly lit dining room . The bourbon bar is the centerpiece. With closing in 20 minutes the restaurant was mostly empty. Our friendly waitress Bella was on top of drink orders. I ordered an Old Fashioned utilizing Makers bourbon with a banana flavor profile. It proved to be outstanding @ $14. Bella encouraged us to try their bbq which they are known for, we ended up both getting the Cherrywood Brisket. My wife with side of Cesar and me side of cup of chili for $1 up charge. The recommendations really made the difference.Bella brought the food out within 15 minutes. Temperatures were correct. The brisket was magnificent. Tender with fat to meat ratio. The house sauce was perfect with a slight kick. The cup of chili was yum with Navy Bean and frito corn chips on top that was unusual. My wife agreed with my assessment on the brisket and her salad was fresh. We finished out splitting a butterfinger pie which was good size for the share. It proved to be mighty tasty and not a crumb was left. Our bill was brought to us in a timely fashion to close out. Since we were out of town Bella suggested a few other local places. I would recommend Freemason and who knows may return this week.Parking: Parking in rear“
“Came for a light snack and I'll certainly be back. Today I tried the Bollitos de Papa (cheese) and the Empanada (chicken). The potato ball was delicious... mashed potatoes formed around cheese then deep fried... it doesn't get much better than that. The empanada was great but mine was a big air pocket with only a tiny bit of filling. However what I did get was delicious and that means I just need to go back and try again!“
“We love it here. Celebrating a special occasion or looking to grab a good bite before a Grasshoppers game, this place has it all. Fancy food, eccentric cocktails wrapped up in a modern but comforting atmosphere makes this a must try spot for “
“We always love lunch at the Village Tavern! The patio is so nice and we always receive great service!Kid-friendliness: We always bring our infant with us in her stroller and it’s never been a problem. They are also very accommodating when it comes to needing hot water (to warm bottles in)!“
“Very nice restaurant in Greensboro. The staff were super-friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I ordered the bacon-wrapped meatloaf with Texas-Pete onions and gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans. It was the best meatloaf I've ever eaten.“
“What a wonderful experience today ! Business, in Greensboro , so I decided to try Undercurrent’s! We were met, by the OWNER! Delightful, Surprise, especially , in this day & age ! Very impressed by story & history of restaurant! The staff were all smiles & were very helpful! Anyone who goes to Greensboro, NC ….. truthfully NEEDS to experience this LANDMARK! The food not only tasted the best , but presentation was excellent! Their desserts , are very hard to pass up , also ! Sincerely, Suzanne Green , Raleigh, NCParking: Very easy to park !“
“I’m not even vegan but my pescatarian partner & I can go out here & leave very satisfied. Decor is cool too. So far I can vouch for the chili cheeze fries, sweet potato tots, milkshake, & “beef” tacos! Can’t wait to try more.“
“Amazing experience! Located right on a strip mall but incredibly classy. An eclectic menu with almost everything and so many options. A great wine selection and the service was perfect. Highly recommend the pimento cheese and sausage dip; it is delicious. The scallops mornay dish was great as well, very savory.“
“My husband and I visited the Battleground location on Wed March 20 for a weekday casual dinner. The service was great and the food was excellent. The food was seasoned and extremely fresh. We had the chicken skewer platter with all salad and a cheesesteak w/fries. Everyone working that day was very attentive to service and in keeping the dining room clean. An added thing for me is the restroom was also very clean. I would highly recommend this place for a visit, you won't be disappointed.“
“Great fresh fish with creative plates that try to match certain flavors with the type of fish that is served. The mussels were good, I’d recommend ordering just those instead of the mix with clams which I didn’t know was possible at first. I do wish they had rice as one of the sides. I ended up ordered mashed sweet potatoes which were ok but a bit heavy on the ginger. Rice just compliments fish so well and it should be added to the menu!“
“I highly recommend this place if you are into fine dining in Greensboro area! Their service is one of the best I have experienced and my husband and I do love going out and explore different restaurants all over NC and even in another state or outside of USA!“
“Great family-owned place with yummy food and EXCELLENT service! Big portions. Reasonable prices. Can’t recommend enough! Came for breakfast and had the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on French toast. Dipped in maple syrup. Delicious!!“
“I meant to leave this Saturday bit this is probably the best food I have ever had! My fiance as well. I have never seen her so excited for food like this! The staff was also super friendly and helpful! Definitely have to go again when I go to Greensboro again!“
“Raven n Tiffany are always kind. My omlet is always superb, not wet and soupy, and the salsa on point... French toast or pancakes are always slamming...Parking: Limited but enough, carpoolKid-friendliness: Many food options and the willingness to customize...Wheelchair accessibility: To the left of the building“
“I celebrated my college graduation with a dinner here and it was one of the best meals I have ever had! The steak was cooked beautifully and the sides were also phenomenal. There is a good selection of choices and the service was wonderful. It was also cool to see all the pictures and autographs of the famous people that had been to B. Christopher's; I can certainly see why so many celebrities have frequented the place! Atmosphere is also very quaint and perfect for an elegant meal.“
“My favorite spot especially when you receive a $5.00 coupon for the entire garden salad....recommendation: register to receive the coupons for awesome discount's??Isiah was very friendly and quick @ customer's need's....Thank you Isiah....Greatly Appreciated!“
“First impressions, it's located kind of in a larger parking lot with allot of other stores immediately by. So it's a bit intimidating. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and she explained how exactly we order and gave us some great info on the quality of ingredients they use. I've eaten a lot of burgers in my life (they're my favorite food) and this place is a hole in the rock. Top 3 burgers of my life.Overall, fantastic environment. The best kind of staff you could ask for.Amazing ingredients.Down right one of the best burgers I've ever put in my mouth hole!DO NOT PASS IT UP.“
“The music is too LOUD. I like to hear my waiter/waitress and actually talk to my dinner companions. Stupid dumb staff dancing not impressing at all. I only listen to country music so its not that. I don't want to eat where I need earplugs. Ask them to down volume the response is its as low as it goes! “
“First time dining here for my group. I ordered the salmon patties with collards, yams, and side salad. Oh and a mimosa, the watermelon strawberry one. My sis ordered the crab cakes with Mac n cheese and collards. My son had fried shrimp with yamsMy brother had the fried lobster tail and waffle and our friend ordered the chicken and waffle. When I tell you EVERYTHING was gooooood.....yes we sampled each others food because I'd heard about this place and had to confirm for MYSELF!!!! We asked for the chef, because we had to see who was blessing us with this gift. She humbly came out and thanked us for the compliments, but um "Chef Luxe", thank You!!!“
“Food quality is delicious and cocktails even better. Staff is great. Feels like an episode of Cheers because everyone knows your name. Nachos topped with chicken absolutely the best. The titos lavender drink was a taste of spring and summer.“
“This never happens… I put in an online, pickup order for 14 people yesterday. Not only was it 100% correct, everyone LOVED the food. This rarely happens when ordering for a large group so I have to give the highest compliment to Rodys. Thank you for making this group very happy! A job well done for sure!“
“I ate there 2x, for dinner I had chicken fried steak mashed potatoes, green beans, banana pudding with the best vanilla shake I have ever had, my waitress was so wonderful I went back for breakfast I made a phone order to go with a tall mid age woman she was sweet on the phone and in person I had a smash burger, chips and sweat tea, I forgot the tea and had to go back in just to meet the worse waitress this place has she was dumb as a box of rocks. I told her I didn't receive my tea the receipt was in her face on the bag but she was so into the tablet she ignored me until the nice waitress was passing then she start saying I DIDN'T KNOW. How dummy? I just told you and the receipt is right here. She need to be cleaning bathrooms and parking lots customer service is not her thing.Parking: I was in a big rig and had space to park in a lot next to the diner“
“The owner is super cool and friendly food was great hot wings was the best I've had in a while and the cheesecake taste like its straight outta Philly ? definitely enjoyed it and on top of that he serviced me fresh food 5mins before closing and the food was still “
“I never had a bad experience at this place. Use to eat here all the time. I done started doing food review videos showing people that you can eat good foods and still stay in shape… If you haven’t ate here I believe you should give it a try. Food is AMAZING!!“
“The food here is very affordable and good for the price. I never wait more than 5 minutes after getting there to get my food. Service is prompt but not always friendly, though it's understandable because the staff seem to have their hands full. Decoration is sparse but not unpleasant. Overall very cozy and a good place to eat.“
“This place is our go-to for steak and cheese and go-to in general! We get it to go but we’ve ate inside before (I brought my family when they visited from out-of-state!). I always get the same thing ?? (steak & cheese, chips). Unsweet tea is the best! Very affordable prices. Food is amazing and employees are nice. Very quick as well. A chill place to dine-in if you choose! Love it and would recommend“
“Took my dog here and, even though it was November and cold out, they still gave us a seat outside and our server was very attentive and friendly. She was also nice to my dog! The fried pickles were AMAZING and I’ll definitely return here.“
“Finally had the chance to stop in for dinner. Very busy for a Monday night but we got sat faster than I thought we would. Our server wasn’t as attentive she was focused on her other tables. The food took awhile to come out but it was decent once it arrived. I definitely recommend the shrimp tacos!!! Might stop in and give it another try when back on that side of town.“
“I stopped in today in the late afternoon. There was someone leaving with a bag of food and asked if they had been there before, and the woman praised the establishment, though did say that sometimes food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen, depending on how busy they were. Duly noted. In I went! The main bar area was almost completely empty. The place has a dark, cozy feel. That comfortable neighborhood bar feel. Not the commercialized kind you find at a chain, the classic sense of one. I can't explain it better than that. They have four TVs up behind the bar, most were showing sports related content, one had on a made-for-TV movie that made me think it might have been the Hallmark channel? I'm not a sports guy, so I spent most of my meal either looking at the smaller screen which was scrolling pictures from their Halloween party, or reading the Captions on the TV movie. The Halloween party scroller adds to that sense that this is a friendly neighborhood staple, and the staff here take pride in being part of the community. For being a smaller bar, they have done a nice job at curating their spirits list. They have some of the typical "well" brands, a couple of common middle-shelf items, and a few surprises on there that were also priced lower than I'd found at other places. Even more surprising is that some of them were still in stock! The bartender (Kat) was very efficient and welcoming, she gave me her feedback on her favorites from the menu. When two other gentlemen came in and seated not far from me, she asked them if they were going to be getting lunch, so she could put their orders in ahead of the orders of a large party in an adjacent room. I thought this was pretty thoughtful of her, as the large party was likely in no hurry, but these two guys were in suits and might have needed to watch the clock.I had the Rueben, with onion rings, and I also ordered a side of cheese curds. The sandwich was excellent for the price point. Next time I might ask what the upcharge is to get extra meat. No complaints on the value as it stood. The onion rings were very good. I meant to ask if they make them or get them in frozen, but I forgot. They came with a side of a tangy, slightly spicy (Jalepeno?) sauce. At first I thought it was extra Thousand Island dressing by the color, but it was closer to "Bang Bang" sauce (typically found with a shrimp dish at other places). The cheese curds were... okay. They were fried a little too long, so many of them started to explode, clumping together, and the breading burned in places. They came with an herbed aoli that was pretty good. I think that might go much better with fries or maybe even on a burger. They have some neat sounding twists on their burgers, and have monthly burger specials. Next time I go, I will probably try one of the burgers.“
“Porterhouse on Market is always a top tier experience. Todd is an amazing manager and has gone out of his way to make a meal right even if I didn't complain about it, but he just happened to notice something didn't look right. Jason is a great asset and host as well. Bri is always a joy to converse with and helpful. Top tier help, top-tier food. I never have a bad time going here.“
“Been going here for 10+ years and it gets better everytime. Their beer selection is phenomenal and their food is consistent and delicious! From a buffalo chicken wrap to the tacos, Philly cheese steak or their amazing BLT and sweet potato fries - don’t skip going here! Plus, their staff just straight up rocks! Highly recommend.“
“Wife and I visited Karonda's for the first time in probably five years and were not disappointed. Despite the place being nearly empty, the staff was attentive and our waitress was wonderful. The food was much better than we remembered and we both left thoroughly happy with the experience. The interior could use some work to not feel so empty when there aren't a lot of folks there. At one point, we joked about how it felt like we were eating in the basement because there was nobody around.“
“Small little place. Food is really good. From burgers and fries to a meat and 2 vegetables, it's all very good. Served hot and fresh. Service is ok. You order and sit and then pay on the way out so other than bringing food and the occasional drink refill, that's about it.“
“We were in the neighborhood and decided to eat here. This place is cool!Ross was amazing! He was very friendly and helpful! I had the bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant with a side of potatoes! It was absolutely delicious, flavorful and crispy bacon!!! My daughter had waffles with strawberries and bananas. She loved it! Looking forward to coming back again!!!“
“Tonight the Mrs. and I decided upon Darryl's for our dinner date out monthly. We were promptly seated in the downstairs lower left side of the restaurant. Sergio was our very attentive and informative waiter. He informed us both of almost everything as if we were first timers here, which was actually very nice. I chose my usual of over 30 years coming here which was the potato skins app and my wife got the potato soup cup. Her entrée was the house lasagna. I also ordered two sides of their baked beans. Our whole meals were fresh, hot and delicious. Sergio, was beyond exceptional. He was covering almost that whole entire section except for 2 tables of people. His attention to detail and listening capabilities are bar none management material. He was very professional and courteous too, without seeming to be fake or butt kissing. All in all it was a wonderful evening had out and we'll definitely ask for Sergio again.5 ☆☆☆☆☆Parking: The parking is located as a round about from front going right ward to a rear larger lot.“
“Dra J. Is a breath of fresh air! He was such a pleasant server and kind spirit. He was attentive, personable, and courteous. He made our dining experience an absolute joy today! He needs all the pins, stars, and recognition from the store!!!!“
“While visiting my girlfriend’s family in Greensboro for the holidays we went to the grandchildren’s favorite park. The kids wanted ice cream and we went to park side pull-up. I ordered a hamburger and my girlfriend had their hot dog. Both were delicious and the service was great. We will be sure to stop there again on our next visit.“
“I've been sitting on writing this review for awhile, probably longer than I should, but I still remember the evening pretty well and recently came across the photos that I had yet to post, so here goes nothing! But that is kind of the point, a restaurant like Marisol should leave you anxious to go home and tell others about what a great eating experience you had. In my case, while the food overall was good, I wasn't taken aback by anything, and at this price point, I feel that I should have been. Things started off really well, the server was eager to explain the restaurant and menu, and stayed very attentive throughout. Honestly, for my taste, overly attentive. But it's not a big place, and also wasn't very busy, so it makes sense he would have stayed vigilant with us. After ordering drinks, we received a small starter of goat cheese on crostini with some bruschetta, a nice way to kick things off. Then, one of the highlights, the basket of incredible breads was presented to us. If he had left the basket at the table, we probably would have run through it all, but we did have a few pieces with butter, that were beyond excellent. The appetizer course was fantastic. Flash fried buttermilk shrimp, house made gravlax, tomato pie, cavatelli, and a duck special. The tomato pie, I honestly wish i could have ordered a larger slice for my entrée, because I could eat that every day. The gravlax was kind of like eating lox, and I dug the texture with the crispy bread and shmear. The shrimp were plump, but given the price, nothing about them set them apart from fried shrimp elsewhere. The duck.. I said earlier about the tomato pie, maybe just give me the duck and tomato pie for an entrée, I would have been happy. For my main, i got the blackened NC mountain trout, and like others at my table, this is where the meal started to fall flat. The trout just didn't set itself apart in any way, other than the fish being clearly fresh. The blackening didn't add much flavor, nor did the sauce that it came with. For this being the supposed centerpiece of our experience, it was disappointing. I found myself wishing I got the duck breast that someone else had. For dessert, we shared the vanilla bean creme brulee and the bread pudding. The crème brûlée was well executed, which is no ordinary feat, so big props for that. The bread pudding however was the total opposite. I have never really encountered dry bread pudding before, but this was it. Even though it was covered in chocolate sauce (would have just liked a dish of that) and ice cream, still somehow dry to the bone. I was surprised the waiter didn't ask about it, given it was barely touched by all of us, and he had been so attentive to everything else. In the end, for the money, I don't know that I would return. As I said earlier, at this price point, it kind of needs to be great from top to bottom. Some of it was, but the most important part was kind of pedestrian. I could definitely see myself coming back for drinks and apps though!“
“This was my first time and I was a little skeptical but it really was good... the spaghetti was amazing, the pineapple salad was oh so good, the fried cornbread yes. What I didn't like was the mashed potatoes with gravy..you could tell they were instant and the sweet tea could be a little sweeter. Lindsey my waitress was amazing..very friendly and explained everything. It did kinda freak me out to turn around and there was someone outside the window staring at me. It is a cash only but I will definitely be back..“
“The food is amazing. This bar/restaurant is very unassuming looking from the outside. Once inside, it is a fun and energetic environment. The staff and customers are really nice and friendly and welcoming. I had a Ceasar salad with salmon and the salmon was cooked to perfection and the dressing was to die for. My friend got one of the specials and loved it. His mom got the soup and shrimp and said they tasted great. I will be back with my husband.“
“I'm thrilled to share my recent experience at Mac’s Speed Shop... Last Tuesday, my mother and I went on a food adventure that exceeded all expectations. Initially hesitant about venturing to Greensboro for BBQ, but my eldest son managed to persuade us to give it a try ! From the moment we arrived, the service was amazing. swift and incredibly accommodating. Our server, whose name escapes me, was an absolute delight, especially to my mother ! Her makeup was absolutely stunning, and when my mother inquired about it, she graciously shared the details, sparking a moment of genuine connection which I don’t see happening that quickly with my mother and strangers… It was heartwarming to witness the vibrant atmosphere, even amidst the heavy rain. The kitchen buzzed with energy and music.. ! a testament to the passion of the staff. As they say.. good food comes from good people.. ! and every bite of the amazing charred shrimp reaffirmed this notion. Without a doubt, I'll be returning soon to relive this great experience. A 10 out of 10 !“
“Been meaning to try this place for quite sometime, stopped in with my son today for lunch. He has the chicken parm and I had the scarlett which is a steak sandwich and we both had the duck fat fries. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, he finished his entire meal and was stuffed, I ate half, the portions were large and justified the price point for sure. The duck fat fries were seasoned and bursting with flavor and they are fresh cut too.We will be adding this to our list of restaurants to frequent.“
“Greensboro usually let's me down when it comes to service and food quality....but not this time!! The food was prepared to order the customer service was spectacular so friendly I felt welcomed...I would definitely suggest this spot!! Round of applause and thank you “
“Best Greek food and staff. Best and every order is freshly made for each. Each French fries order is made for each order. NO COLD FRENCH FRIES AND NOT OVERLY SALTED. There is only 3 Ghasssans Restaurants located in Greensboro. I want one near 68 and Wendover.Parking: Plenty of free parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access at both entrances“
“I wish we lived close to this place because we would become regulars! Found this place by accident in an awesome historic neighborhood. The burger selection is wonderfully diverse. I had the Swiss Bliss and my wife had the Hog Wild burger. They were both excellent! Logan and Aubry were both very helpful and friendly! We will definitely come back when we are in the area again!Kid-friendliness: We don’t have kids, but we saw that they provide sidewalk chalk for kids to decorate the patio. There’s even a cute little “toddler table” outside!“
“This place has no business being so good. The atmosphere makes it better. The staff is nice. I got my food quickly. They didn’t skimp on my veggies and look at the melty cheese! The onion rings were PERFECT which is why they aren’t pictured.“
“I go to benders weekly and I usually get the quesadillas, sometimes chicken, sometimes steak or sometimes I get crazy with it and get both. Either way I’m never disappointed, the wait staff is wonderful and the bar tenders make sure you’re well taken care of. The environment is relaxing no matter what it’s going on from holidays to sports and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a chill spot to relax and grab some food.“
“I was hungry and driving along looking for something to catch my eye that wasn't a franchise. This place caught my eye, luckily for me. The place has a good atmosphere and a cozy feel. I ordered some food and a cider that was on tap. The chicken and bean wrap was excellent and the cider was pleasantly tart. Service was excellent. I will definitely be back.“
“My mom was visiting from Raleigh and after a long day celebrating my daughter's birthday, we went to dinner We were seated outside and what a wonderful evening ! Delicious cocktails, incredible service and outstanding meals (steaks) We will go back and sit outside when the weather allows It was divine“
