“Very busy in the evenings with a line out the door. They had enough flavors to choose from- Think Orange Leaf style custard.

Seemed to be a favorite amongst the kids and locals. They have some outdoor seating where you can sit and enjoy your selections but honestly with the toppings bar you really want to hang back and wait for people to add on their toppings before you approach if you don't want your custard to melt.

I was mindful of this and had noticed some slower moving, indecisive individuals (do we really need toppings?) and my custard still was melting quickly after a few steps out of the door.

Recommend getting there earlier in the evening when it's less busy. Also observed a mom that dropped their 8 year old off at the ramp and the kid darted off in front of us, cutting us off as we were about to enter the ramp. The mom parked and then joined her son afterwards (really? Lol)

I guess what im trying to say is if you're over 21 and grown but still want to enjoy some treats you should try to go earlier than later to avoid some of the riff raff 😂“

“We returned to the Outer Banks last week after a 20 year hiatus, remembering Tortuga's Lie as one of our favorite places to eat. We ate there on the second night of our stay and no one in the family was disappointed. I had the grilled salmon salad special and coming from a tough critic, it was DELICIOUS and did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the "vibe" was just the same as we remembered. We can't wait to visit again.“

“South Beach Grill is a staple during our annual OBX vacation. We order from there 2-3 times during the week. They are fast, friendly, and ordering is easy online. Dinner for our group of 9 was ready for pick-up in less than 20 minutes. Everyone has tried multiple things from the menu and everyone was extremely pleased with everything they’ve tried. My favorites are the southwest wrap, burgers, and Buffalo chicken Philly. Their fries are delicious… especially with their fry sauce or BBQ ranch. South Beach Grill is a must have on your OBX vacation!“

“Stopped for the ice cream fell in love with the cookies. The ice cream is from a NC creamery and I recommend the Lemon Crunch 🍋 But the cookies are a blessing for your taste buds. I got the coconut cookie and my husband raved about the white chocolate macadamia. I wish we had tried this sooner... but it's 10 miles down the beach 😆“

“Grabbed the lunch special as a to-go order today. When I got back to work and sat down to eat I felt like I was eating a gourmet meal! I had no idea what I had been missing out on and now that I do, Greentails will definitely be one of my go to spots!!! WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS....wouldn't change a single thing.“

“Tremendous on all accounts!… fantastic cocktails, delicious food, superior service, and an amazing view. I have never enjoyed waiting for a table more!…sitting outside under the gazebo on the deck that stretches into the sound, wonderful outside bar (try the Chocolate Martini!), and Yacht Rock over the speakers. We could have stayed out there all night and been content. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t say how great the food was inside, and the service was impeccable. (Richard was our waiter, and he is a GEM! Excellent service like he extended to our group is a lost art.) Can’t wait to see you again next year!“

“This place is an OG spot on the OBX. I’ve been going here for over a decade. Never disappointed me. One of the longest standing restaurants on this island and that says something. Good food and good people. One of my favorites spots on the island.“

“I had a wonderful omelette made with fresh vegetables and turkey bacon. The fresh pressed juice was so delicious. As a person with food allergies, Freshfit has many options for me. They offer vegan and gluten free items, plus turkey sausage or bacon instead of pork. We can’t wait to eat there again on our next OBX visit!“

“We ordered takeout, but there is inside and outside dining (pleasant). The English Garden Salad with an Impossible Burger (on top). Their apple cider vinegar dressing is so good! The salad is very filling and delicious. My husband had the Wanchese fried fish sandwich with fries which was also plentiful and yummy. Prices are fair, and service is excellent.“

“We were lucky to get a corner table with a view of an osprey nest (there were two babies and the staff even lent us binoculars) and a school of flying fish. The grilled tuna with rice and cucumber salad was great. We liked all the food except the fried green tomatoes (I wouldn’t recommend those).“

“More of a drive in kind of spot or to go. Burgers are mid. hot dogs are definitely big and thick but def not 100% all beef but hey it gets the job done without breaking the bank. Loved the fries. Accurately priced. It’s a $7 cheeseburger not a $14.“

“I’ve been coming to the Outer Banks for 30 years. I remember getting the best burger on the OBX at this restaurant. Apparently they have stopped serving food. That is not the issue. I called up to ask if they no longer serve burgers, and was told “this isn’t McDonald’s”. I don’t appreciate being spoken to that way from a worker of a restaurant I want to spend my money at. If they can’t train their staff to have better customer service, I cannot imagine how poorly they treat customers at the restaurant. Very disappointed.“

“Great ice cream, and I could tell it is homemade from the quality. While some of these reviews point out the ice cream isn’t inexpensive, you’re on the coast so I guess you can go to a chain if that bothers you. The cookie dough in particular had huge chunks and is probably the best I’ve had in a long time!“
