“A bougier twist on a lot of traditional Chinese dishes. The highlight of the meal was the braised pork belly, so melt in your mouth tender. Also don't miss the cucumber salad appetizer, I thought the flavors were unique and refreshing.“

“Was a walk-in on a Saturday night at eight, but this place is huge and we were seated within twenty mins! Noise levels on the lower end, even when the place was busy!
Our order was quickly taken by our friendly server, Jeevan, which included: Ginger Sour String Beans (nice and garlicy), Chicken Lo Mein, Veggie Fried Rice, Cumin Fries, Dry Pot Style (Chicken, and Tofu). Food was in-line with expectations and hit all the right spots! I wish it was a little spicy, and their 10/10 spice level is not that spicy! Excellent Sichuan food though in the UWS neighborhood. Menu slightly on the expensive side;
Will definitely be frequenting this place for their super quick service, and good food!
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly 😎“

“NYC typically rivals the Chinese food you can find in the Bay Area and Hupo certainly helps that case. Focusing on Sichuan style cuisine, Hupo has a wide array of entrees and bites that will leave you full and wanting to come back for more. They certainly do deserve their Bib Gourmand. We had a reservation for 5 set for dinner and were glad we did so as the place was very busy when we arrived. The interior is clean and simple with no frills. Once seated we were informed that they only have digital menus through a QR code which was a bit difficult to navigate with 2 out of the 5 of us being older and not as tech savvy but we figured it out anyways.
We ordered a few different entrees and split them family style so we’ll go over them generally. Side note: although many of the dishes are noted as being spicy you can request that they be made without any spice. For dim sum/appetizers we ordered the scallion pancakes and pork soup dumplings. The scallion pancakes were okay, nothing special about them but the pork soup dumplings were a bit better with a tasty broth inside and nice chewy dumplings. For entrees we got duck fried rice, braised beef noodle soup, beef with broccoli, and dan dan noodles.
The duck fried rice was very good. Many places opt to use day-old rice for fried rice and you can often tell by the texture, but if they do that here then we were fooled because the rice tastes fresh and the duck was perfect. The braised beef noodle soup was also good, not the best we’ve had, but still good with the beef having a nice texture and the broth being rich. The beef with broccoli was great, the beef velvetized and delicious, the broccoli, well, broccoli. Lastly, the dan dan noodles were fantastic. The noodles were cooked perfect, the minced beef very delicious, and the bok choy tasty as well. As it is food wise, Hupo is a standout, particularly in the Western Queens area, the only knock being its service is a bit iffy with the workers being not too warm but for the meal you get, we’re willing to shut up and just eat. A fantastic restaurant all around!“

“Yesterday, on the Mid-Autumn Festival night, we brought our parents and children to have a meal together. We usually go to Flushing for hot pot, but we didn't expect such a good hot pot so close to LIC. There are many special dishes, all of which taste good. The bell shrimp slider and egg yolk shrimp slider are both good. The medium spicy base is just right. I will try the spiciest one next time.
But what makes me come back is the great service. The person who served our table was Tao, who was very attentive and provided us with soup and vegetables in a timely manner. One time, the soup accidentally spilled. They quickly replaced us with a new pot of soup and replenished various dishes. Before leaving, we were even allowed to taste the homemade soy milk in the store. Not because of these dishes, but because it can be seen from these actions that Tao really cares. He takes care of our family with intention. He hopes that we can eat happily and not be unhappy because of accidents. He only observes such subtle things out of kindness. , the service is so attentive. This kind of service is no longer common in fast-paced hot pot restaurants, and I hope that this original intention can be maintained. Thank you Tao for giving us the opportunity to take our children and parents to enjoy this wonderful experience. We will come back for food soon. I wish you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
In addition, the ladies and gentlemen in all the stores are very friendly. When passing by, they will subconsciously check the table to see if there is anyone who needs service. They will also say hello and say thank you for coming. It feels very friendly, like home away from home.
Thank you for your delicious food and beautiful hearts.
Kid-friendliness: It would be better to prepare some small children's plates instead of plastic boxes“

“I got the spicy beef noodle soup and the dumplings in chili oil. I thought the soup was decent. I would have preferred it spicer and there wasn't a ton of beef in it. The broth wasn't super rich, but still had decent flavors. One of my favorite things about the soup were the pickled(?) bamboo shoots. It was actually probably my favorite thing in the soup! The dumplings were really good! The chili oil was another star of the meal and I ended up added some into my soup for more spice and flavor.“

“I visited this place on my trip to New York because I saw it had been awarded a Michelin bib gourmand. The food was amazing and definitely lived up to its reputation. We got the dry chili chicken and ma po tofu. Both were spicy but good. The ma po tofu in particular was very tingly, which was a unique experience.“

“Such a staple. Especially for Szchzean fix.
Hot& sour soup, mapo tofu, fried rice can't go wrong.
Did have shots of namesake Wu Liang Ye now priced $20. Chaser Tsingtao of course. Deadly night drinking much water afterwards. But, when seldom comes, why not splurge.“

“10/8/25
We were in the neighborhood for an appointment and decided to stop for lunch.
BBQ Ribs are delicious, most Chinese restaurant makes them but are usually tough but these were tender and so flavorful. I wish they were near home hehehe.
Peking Duck, while it was super crispy outside and tender inside it was not seasoned. Without the hoisin sauce it would have been a waste of money...
Bok Choy with Garlic is delicious, I wish I could make it this good hehehe.
If we are ever in the area we would definitely go back.
Lots of pig related decorations, cute! Hehehe“

“I have been coming here since I was a child when they were still at their old location and it has remained my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is always delicious and consistent. The shredded sesame chicken, scallion pancakes, and hot and sour soup are my go to dishes but everything on the menu is wonderful! The white tablecloths and beautiful atmosphere make the dining experience feel special, and the servers are always warm and caring. I leave every time feeling happy, full, and grateful this place is still just as good as ever! How many other restaurants can you say that about?“

“Han Dynasty has landed in LIC! 🌶️ Famous across NYC for its bold Sichuan flavors, this new spot serves up dishes that hit all the right notes—spicy, numbing, savory, and aromatic. The Fish Dry Pot is a must-try for anyone who loves a punch of heat, while the Braised Beef Noodles are equally irresistible. With its stunning décor, extensive menu, and lively vibe, this is the perfect spot for flavor-packed dining in the city. 🍜✨“

“Come for the food, you won’t regret it. Sichuan food at its finest, this is not your typical American style Chinese food. Parking is difficult but there’s street parking nearby. Haven’t had Sichuan food this good outside of Flushing, Queens. Mapo Tofu, lamb cumin, and cold tripe/meat appetizer are 🔝⭐️“

“We had a wonderful meal at Wa Jeal. Our dishes were fresh and beautifully presented. The ambiance is perfect for an intimate dinner: a handsome, well-space dining room, and quiet music in the background, attentive service. But best of all, the food is flavorful and absolutely delicious. Wa Jeal is one of our favorite places es to dine on the Upper East Side, and a true neighborhood gem.“

“Truly Sichuan catered a party I had for 30 people. Renee the owner made the planning process completely stressless. We had the soup dumplings (all guests agreed the best we ever had) and the rest of the food was fresh and so yummy! Almost everyone asked me where the restaurant was because it was the best Chinese food they ever had. The food, Renee and the rest of the staff makes this one of the best gems in Bergen county!!“

“Hunan Village offers a wide variety of vegetable options, including sautéed water spinach with garlic, sautéed spinach with garlic, and mixed vegetables. As a vegan, I appreciate how easy it is to find delicious plant-based dishes on their menu. I also have several special requests when ordering, such as less oil, less salt, no soy sauce, and no MSG. The staff always accommodates my needs, and my food consistently arrives prepared exactly as I requested. On top of that, the prices are very affordable. For their excellent service, attention to detail, and great value, I happily give Hunan Village a five-star review.“

“When I came in from the outside I thought it looked like 1 of those sketchy places you see in a strip mall on the highway. When I sat down I was happy too see that the waitress came quickly and efficiently brought the food out quickly aswell. I ordered the chicken fried rice and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend going here on a date. The only thing keeping this place from a 5 is there above average prices.“

“I’m from this area and moved to Miami, which has no Szechuan Chinese. On a trip back to NYC, we went to China River based on location and reviews and it was TERRIFIC. If you are from NY or North Jersey, you know what to expect — spicy shredded beef, scallion pancakes, even delish basics like chicken and broccoli. Everything was exactly as it should be. We went back a second time before heading to JFK for the flight back to Florida.“

“Great food as a chinese carry out. The baby ribs w/ black beans sauce and the salt and pepper shrimp were tasty. Service was smooth and the people there were nice.
People complaining about the people that work here doesn’t know anything about their culture. You’re in their space, so y’all should respect them. It’s a carry out, not fine dining restaurant. If you don’t like it, go somewhere else.
Complaints about them not putting napkins and utensils in your bag? Deal with it! There’s a station right by the door. You can’t miss it. You want everything done for you? How spoiled can y’all get? They are workers, not slaves.“

“This place is good... not sure why it gets bad reviews. The food was very good. Had some wontons... some egg drop soup... general tsos chicken... rice... All good - I see some complaints about service but I think the staff was very good at coming back in intervals to check on us. On top of that though, I think service is also about the attitude of the servers which I have only great things say.“

“Really enjoyed this Chelsea staple, but a spot that hasn't lost its sparkle. This is very good Sichuan food. Not the best you will ever have, but still very good.
Loads of authenticity in the menu, with fish taking a prominent place amongst a lot of options. They also have all your standard US-Cantonese American dishes.
Our selections were a Spicy Fish with Bean Curd Flower, sauteed Pea Shoots with Garlic, and Pumpkin with Scallions and Ginger.“

“We eat at Hot Fish quite often, and usually order the same dishes. I was lucky enough to be their "Tasting Panel Foodie" winner, and was invited to try some different items from the menu. If you want to indulge in an unforgettable gastronomic experience, you have to try the Fresh Striped Bass. I ordered it with spicy sauce, but there are six different flavors to chose from. We also ordered the Sliced Beef with Black Pepper. The beef was so tender and juicy, paired with onions and bell peppers in a savory, black pepper sauce. Then we ordered Dry Pot Cabbage, a mouth-watering Sichuan dish that you have to try. For our last course, we had the Yang Chow Fried Rice, the best I have ever tasted. Thank you, Hot Fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the staff and service were exceptional. I highly recommend dining here when you are looking for a great Sichuan experience.“
