“Great cocktails, delicious food, and overall great atmosphere“

“I got crab cove Doordashed last night and it was just what I needed! My mom got the fried shrimp basket with sweet potato fries and she said she enjoyed it! I ordered the seafood boil (basically a build your own) with 1/2 lb shrimp head off, 2 crab clusters, and 1/2 middle neck clams in the crazy crab sauce with the mild option. I couldn’t stop eating it even though I was so full!

The food was that good AND it was doordashed so it took a little over 20 min to get to me, I can only imagine how good it is in store!“

“Our first experience at a James Beard award winning restaurant (2017) and chef was incredible at Vernick Fish in Philadelphia to celebrate Trent’s graduation! I know now what this caliber of food and service means and all other restaurants pale in comparison to Vernick Fish and Greg Vernick(semi-finalist chef 2025). From the appetizers (dozen oysters from RI, MA, ME, PEI) to the drinks and main course were all uniquely exquisite and cannot be replicated anywhere else. The constant doting with new silverware at each course and cleaning of the table was undeniably royalty treatment. Even the bathroom was an experience-I need the hand lotion in my life (instantly made my hands look 30 years younger). The portions, ambiance and service were all equally perfect! I highly recommend you check out Vernick Fish. We will definitely return!“

“We had such a fantastic experience at Illata in Philadelphia! From start to finish, everything felt special, and a big part of that was our amazing waitress, Mary — she was attentive, warm, and really elevated the whole evening with her thoughtful service.

The menu offered some unexpected surprises, and the standout for us was the carrot dish. It was hands down the highlight of the night — it almost felt like a savory take on carrot cake, rich and flavorful in the most delightful way. The trout was a pleasant surprise too; it leaned more toward the texture and richness of salmon, and honestly, it was one of the best fish dishes we’ve had in a while.

And we can’t forget the desserts — they absolutely blew us away. The rhubarb tart was perfectly balanced, and the chocolate cake was decadent without being too heavy. A perfect ending to a memorable meal!

“We held an 80th birthday party at Verona. The service was top notch and owners beyond accommodating. The guests said they want to come back! The clams casino is my favorite. The outdoor seating is great.“

I went for restaurant week and ordered the shrimp creole. Omg I cleaned my plate and was still salivating over the idea of more when I got home. My partner ordered the crab soup and the salmon. “Hello, I wasn’t sure because of the name but I’m glad I stopped. I had the Hibachi mix vegetable w chucks of chicken and nice size shrimp and fried rice, everything was deliciously fresh my rice was not sticky, and it came with a side salad, Thumps Up to #DrunkeCrab!! top off w a breath mint.“

“I really wish I could give a stellar review because the food is absolutely fabulous here. Not to mention, they will modify anything on the menu to food specifications, for instance for me who can't have gluten, eats only seafood and no cheese. Yes, they work with this with ease and everything is delicious.

The reason I can't give an amazing review is because having gone twice now, the first time our service was excellent and the second time more recently the service was very poor. Our food came out at different times to the table and as a group of four it was very disruptive. Also, many tables were turned over before we even got half way through our meal. I'm not sure what happened to be honest. I will say this was not our experience the first time we went and given how amazing the food is we will try it again.

The response from the owner that he would reach out was completely false. It is over 2 weeks now and I have heard nothing. For me, the irony was I was actually planning to come back out. But now…. ?‍♀️.

“I love supporting local businesses and captain's choice is on of my go to spots for beer or a seafood platter. He definitely has great prices on beer. He also sells wine as well as other alcohol drinks and cigarettes. My only complaint is that when you order the fried flounder platter they always give such a tiny amount of fries not even a handful of fries. I wish they would give you more fries with the meal. Also there the only place in the Mayfair area in my knowledge that sells cups of Philadelphia water ice all year around which I absolutely love.“

The management staff and team at this location is dedicated and professional - and their tenures at this location speak for itself. They take the time to remember your favorite dishes; your drink order; how you like your steak cooked ... Everyone works together to insure that you have the best experience and they actually understand if you need to send something back if it did not come out the way you like it. Our family has shared birthdays, graduations, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve with the Capital Grille Family at this location. The staff has worked with us for small Happy Hours and catering orders; they have supported our membership organizations and have always willingly donated something our good causes. And the wine locker membership is absolutely worth it. This location holds Wine Locker only special events through out the year and takes care of their members.
