“At one time this place was bad to go to but now there is a police presence until 1am so it ok to go get food there as it has good food . They don't have delivery so take out is the only option. Both apple pay and cash app is accepted as well as credit cards and cash.“

“If I could give 100,00 stars, I would. Service was incredibly friendly, down to us saying how much we loved the sauce and our server brought up a little side of sauce and another piece of bread just so we could savor the flavors a little longer. Each dish truly got better and better. This BYOB spot is a complete standout and you need to RUN HERE. Shoutout to our servers, Maggie and Mary, and Chef Ben for a memorable, absolutely delicious experience.“

“Our first experience at a James Beard award winning restaurant (2017) and chef was incredible at Vernick Fish in Philadelphia to celebrate Trent’s graduation! I know now what this caliber of food and service means and all other restaurants pale in comparison to Vernick Fish and Greg Vernick(semi-finalist chef 2025). From the appetizers (dozen oysters from RI, MA, ME, PEI) to the drinks and main course were all uniquely exquisite and cannot be replicated anywhere else. The constant doting with new silverware at each course and cleaning of the table was undeniably royalty treatment. Even the bathroom was an experience-I need the hand lotion in my life (instantly made my hands look 30 years younger). The portions, ambiance and service were all equally perfect! I highly recommend you check out Vernick Fish. We will definitely return!“

“I don’t think I have ever tried so many new foods in one sitting before. We ordered a special from the raw bar that our waitress described as a boujee poke bowl (she was awesome btw and very patient with us as we were being indecisive). It was so good! I couldn’t even tell you what was in there but basically every raw fish ever with a really great sauce. We also got some oysters (so fresh with great sauces) and the trout pancake. Never thought I’d be into cold fish on a pancake, but it was delicious. Anyway, all that rambling to say this place is amazing, definitely go if you can get a reservation, and definitely try all the weird things that sound kinda scary.“

“Our dinner was a celebration of our son's 29th birthday. There was a card on the table but, that was it. I assumed a cake or something else would be brought out but, unless we specifically asked for something, nothing extra was given. Food was very good and the waiter was as well. However, there were large gaps between ordering the appetizer (soup) and cocktails. I do understand that things may be made from scratch but soup is not one of them and a scotch rocks can't take that long. Overall, dinner was very nice.“

“Out of so many of Indonesian restaurants in the south Philly area.
DJAKARTA CAFE is our Best Place to enjoy the authentic Indonesian culinary! The portion is huge,not stingy with the sauce. I tried almost all they have in the menu, but Nasi Ayam Bakar is hands-down one of The Best! Came along with tamarind soup, fried tofu, n fried tempe..also the sambal spicy chilly!

“I was skeptical because I absolutely love eating meat. Meat and bbq is a huge part of my life. That being said dinner Saturday night was unbelievably fantastic. I absolutely loved everything that we ordered. Moms meatballs were my favorite dish. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that they are vegan. The cocktails were also delicious and strong. A++++ for this restaurant!“

“I only tried the seafood cheesesteak which is by far breath taking. The only thing is the seafood, to me it’s a bit salty but then again it depends on what chef is I’m the kitchen that day. Nice spot just calm down on overloading the seasoning. Overall good spot to eat .“
