“This location is very clean and professional, with plenty of seating available for customers. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made the experience even better. I ordered a small chicken teriyaki, and it came out exactly how I wanted—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Thank you, Sarku Japan, for the great service!“

“Great sushi spot for a quick, easy-on-the-wallet kinda dinner! Everything we ordered looked and tasted amazing! Staff was so warm and fast with service. The vibe here was almost lounge-like comfort with great music, lighting, and space. Great overall experience! Will come back!“

“Kuu Ramen absolutely deserves all five stars! The broth is rich, deep, and perfectly seasoned—comforting without being too salty. The noodles have that ideal springy chew, and every topping tastes fresh and intentional. The pork is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the portions are generous without feeling heavy.
The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy in that perfect ramen-shop way. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for a warm, satisfying dinner, Kuu Ramen consistently delivers a fantastic experience.
Highly recommend—you’ll want to come back! 🍜✨“

“I had the Chef Omakase plate and it was super delicious. The ataff went over and the main highlights were the toro hand roll, the toro belly, uni and salmon! The fish was pretty fresh. The wagyu beef was also a nice treat towards the end and super tasty. The staff were awesome all around and got my order in a reasonable time.
The location is pretty convenient near the World Trade Center Station/Fulton if you're in this end of the city. If you're in the area I really recommend it.“

I also really enjoyed the udon and the salmon bento set—they were full of flavor. The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting, and the wall art is fun and memorable. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. It’s the kind of place I find myself coming back to often.“

“I had a great experience at Maki Sushi while I was in town for work and happened to stumble in for dinner. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered the Sushi Deluxe, which came with 10 pieces of chef’s-choice sushi and a roll — I went with salmon and avocado. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and thoughtfully put together.
Pete, who is both the sushi chef and the owner, was excellent. We struck up a genuinely good conversation while I was eating, and he was friendly, complimentary, and clearly takes pride in what he does. Sitting at the bar felt welcoming and relaxed — the kind of place where you actually enjoy talking to the person making your food.
One small but really impressive detail stood out: Pete noticed I like a little wasabi with my tuna and offered me fresh wasabi without me even asking. For a sushi spot of this size, having fresh wasabi on hand is always impressive — it’s a great little treat, and usually something you only get if you know to ask. That kind of attentiveness says a lot.
The quality of the fish here is excellent. My favorite bite of the night was the salmon belly — rich, buttery, and delicious. The sushi here is definitely geared toward a more classic and approachable palate. It’s simple, clean, and done well, and the quality of the fish and service really shine.
I’m really glad I found this place and will absolutely come back next time I’m in the area. Thanks for a great experience, Pete — maybe next time I’m in town you’ll have some toro on hand just for me.
Highly recommend.“

“The food was delicious. It was a super cute little environment. We went there for my friends birthday. They gave her a dessert for free. I got a dancing eel roll. It was $16 and I was full so I was happy with it. I had so much fun and it was so so yummy“

“Excellent Ramen. Great service. Great little spot. The kimchi they bring you is divine, spicey, and delicious. The Spicey Ramen I had was amazing, even down to delicious bean sprouts. The spring rolls were on point. By far the best shrimp tempora I've had. Simple, light, crisp and delicious. Oh and the house sake was fantastic. If you're in the area, check this place out. It will not disappoint!“

“A cozy little Taiwanese joint in Harrison, NJ. I ordered the salt & pepper chicken bento — the fried chicken was super crispy and juicy, and the portion was bigger than expected. What really stood out was their homemade chili oil — rich, fragrant, and perfectly spicy. The side dishes were thoughtful and balanced, not just fillers. Great vibes, warm service, and a menu full of familiar flavors. I’ll be back.“

“This was the first Omakase place I went to. The place was awesome and the service was great. Every dish tasted delicious and I enjoyed every single bite. The fish was very fresh and doesn’t have the fishy taste to it. I really loved the add-one that they let you add towards the end. The uni hand roll was 30$ and it was so worth. They fill it up with uni. The sweetness of the uni burst into my mouth when I took a bite. The dessert that they served was delicious too. However this place is expensive but it’s worth every penny. I would definitely come back to this place! I went back here for my birthday and there was a new chef. I’m even more happy with my second visit here, the whole menu was delicious.“

“Traditional omakase counter restaurant, however the food and the whole experience has a next level twist. The chef pushes outside the traditional sushi path and combines things like sashimi with fermented okra jelly (delicious). You'll get a bit of everything - nigris (some of them are experimental), different forms of tuna, grilled fish and meat too. We opted for sake pairing and it was absolutely worth it from taste perspective, but we'd like to highlight the knowledge of the staff describing the differences and nuances to us. You might also get a complimentary Koshu wine from japan that goes with one of the dishes.“

“We have dined at multiple Michelin rated restaurants around the world and can honestly say that this was the best dining experience that we've ever had. From the start, the concept of only opening the doors 5 minutes before seating allows you and the rest of the patrons to gather outside in anticipation, it's a nice way to meet everyone you'll be dining with before sitting down. Once the doors opened they immediately checked us in, took our coats and commented on the reservation notes, wishing me a happy birthday. I was again wished a happy birthday as I was being seated and then a third time by our Omakase chef. The food was incredible and the staff was so friendly. Important note: if you don't like group dining experiences, this is not for you. If you like sitting with and meeting new people with delicious food and attentive service, this experience is well worth the money. While it seems that some reviews comment that they didn't like the food, I am getting the impression that at last parts of the menu change, for example we had a mushroom and truffle soup whereas others mention a miso soup. The rice for the nigiri was warm and fresh, and wasabi was grated right in front of us before being added to our food. Will recommend to everyone I know!“

“Hands down better than almost all NYC yakitori. 💯
Recommendations:
- Chicken Oyster 😳
- Chicken Wings 😩
General Comments:
- Although it takes a while, it's clear that the time is used to deliver quality. 😌
- Perfectly cooked skewers with smokey flavor. 🔥
- I was afraid the chicken might be raw because the skewers are thick, but no, they were thoroughly cooked AND juicy.
- The mushroom and chicken thigh skewers were also great but the other two I recommended were even better.“

“For a long time, sushi was considered exotic and maybe a little scary. But now one can find it practically everywhere, even in the grocery store. Sushi is a Japanese dish referring to the sour flavor of the vinegared rice.
Translated from Japanese, meaning “looks beautifully flavored,” my partner and I decided to stop for a quick bite at this establishment situated on a busy Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights.
Upon entering this clean and relaxed vibe as first-timers to Oishi Sushi, we had the entire place to ourselves and decided on a table by the window. They also have a small stool area in front of the sushi chefs.
Their extensive menu comprises a range of sushi rolls, sashimi, and bento boxes.
We opted for the Seaweed Salad, Avocado Roll, and Vegetable Lover Roll.
Food was excellent, presented well, and using the freshest quality ingredients. The Seaweed Salad was a tad salty; otherwise, everything tasted deliciously good. The price and portions were reasonable. The service was quick; the staff was friendly and courteous.
We can recommend this place.“

“Really fresh fish! Only had some yellowtail (I think) that seemed to be thawed so didn’t taste great. Otherwise, the Lover’s Boat was really good. All you can eat is another option I’ll try next time. Soup and salad are good as well. BOYB is a great plus, liquor store on the same block. Officially favorite local sushi spot!“

“Chefs Isaac, Ivan, Kathlin and server Daniel all played a part in making our anniversary dinner one for the books! Loved the ambience, loved the view and the omakase was so good even the palate cleansing ginger deserves a shoutout (delicate like apple slices); but the highlight for me was the octopus + orange in greek yogurt sauce. I knew it’d be delicious, didn’t know it’d leave me speechless“

“Okinawa Sushi and Asian Food is a locally owned family restaurant. Although it is a small establishment with limited seating. The staff is friendly and attentive offering exceptionally high quality cuisine. The restaurant is known for its fresh, expertly prepared sushi at competitive prices. It has become a popular dining choice within the community. Our order included the Boston Roll, Dragon Roll, and hand-rolled California Rolls, all of which were consistently delicious and fresh.“

“This is by far the best takeout sushi in at least a 20 mile radius, short of expensive sit down omakase. Fish is always fresh, never a “fishy” smell or taste, delivery and pickup orders always correct, very nice people. The fish to rice ratio in the rolls is perfect. Special rolls are a good value and delicious. Hope it stays in business for 50 years“

“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. That’s what this restaurant is built on, they’ve perfected what most couldn’t: late night eats that satisfy the soul. Each type of dumpling was made with extra TLC. The hibachi combos were delicious as well, loaded with flavor, I’d recommend the noodles. And lastly the star of the show were the bao dumplings and garlic soy sauce. It paired so well with the flavor palette given I was appalled. Simple options, spectacular taste, save money live better walmart“

“I had an incredible dining experience at this sushi place!
The food was fresh and absolutely delicious, with the fish tasting as if it was just caught.
The service was excellent attentive and friendly, making sure everything was perfect throughout the meal.
The highlight of the evening, though, was the mango panna cotta. It was the perfect way to end a delightful dinner—refreshing, smooth, and bursting with flavor. I cannot wait to return! Highly recommended!“

“Woman who takes orders is absolutely the worst. It’s my birthday she won’t even give a single smile or have any sense of being personable. You need to replace her or your reputation is gonna go down the drain. Ruined my birthday lunch. I had a feeling she might be awful every day cause this has happened before so we called ahead to warn it was my birthday and they assured we should come. Regret it! Seriously get rid of her!!!!!!“

“Simply beautiful! My wife did a lot of research before choosing Tsubame for her birthday. We were delighted with our dinner. I don't pretend to be an expert on sushi, omakase, or kaiseki. (Take a look at the photos to see our menu). But I know that we had a tremendously calm, enjoyable, and delicious meal.
As a side note -- I don't follow New York Mets baseball, but I learned later that Mets pitcher Kodai Senga was sitting next to me for the prior 2.5 hours. Evidently this was a repeat visit from him. So although I'm not a sushi expert, I figure he has a lot of choices about where he gets his sushi in NYC, and Tsubame meets his standards. ; - )
The service and interaction with the staff was perfect. Our conversation with Chef Jay and our server (JB) was fun and insightful, without ever being intrusive.
We wish Chef Jay, JB and the rest of the staff continued success in sharing their Kaiseki Inspired Omakase with food lovers.
Thank you!“
