“Love this location!!! It’s closer to home. Originally went to the 56tg location for lunch on work. Sancia who used to work at that location is now at 57th and I jsut love her. Always so sweet and attentive and the food is sooo good. I’m from Brooklyn so finding a good oxtail in the city is a gem and very rare! Wishing sancia and the whole team all the best!!!!“

“The food was accepted for the mac and cheese it had no flavor and was very stiff. Jerk chicken as delicious, rasta pasta was delicious but spicy(i don't east spice, so my tolerance is low).The festival is delicious, especially hot. Rice was okay. I love the cabbage and I normally don't eat cabbage. The girl who took the order was super nice, as well as the guy making the chicken. Will go back for sure. Not really a place to dine in unless they have a separate location because I didn't see it.“

Food: We got the Oxtail Rigatoni and Jerk Chicken with rice and beans. Incredibly delicious!! The food was incredibly fresh and tasty, even after 2 days in the fridge after we took leftovers, it tasted really good.

Drinks: Marvarita was really good, sugarcane spritz was warm and not very good, you can pass.

Atmosphere: We went at 5pm on a Sunday, there was live music, hilarious singer who complemented people sitting around.

Service: 11/10. Barbara(the owner) is lovely, she came and said hi, chatted with us and even took our order. Our server was Anthony, delightful man, felt like he was a cousin. we felt like we were so welcome and KNOWN in the restaurant.

Pricepoint: ridiculously reasonable esp being in Greenwich.

This will be our go to Jamaican spot from this point on.“

“Was walking by and saw A&J Caribbean Taste. I just had to go in and see what they had. It was like home! They had a wide range of food and I was so excited I asked for a sample of it all lol. DELICIOUS. Further, it was super generous of the server to accommodate my request. My favorite was the oxtail though all dishes were delicious. If you're missing GOOOOD Caribbean food and want a variety - and not have to wait for food preparation - this is a must visit. Compliments to the chef. This will now be one of my go-to spots whenever I come to my Newark Office.“

The Salad Tropical was the most delicious salad I’ve had in my life - fresher than fresh with a unique and perfect blend of subtle flavors. I judge restaurants by their pork and the Lechon did not disappoint. Delicate flavorful seasoning complemented by tenderness. I will definitely remember this meal and recommend this place. “I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

“My experience at Omar's Kitchen & Rum Bar was amazing. My server was so attentive and knew the menu very well. She was able to help me with my questions on what to get *I got the Escovitch Fish* and led me to swapping out one of my sides for the mac and cheese which was amazing. The drinks were delicious- I got a sorrel and soursop mocktail, so good and the staff was super nice as well! The music playing as well as the decor made for a great ambiance, I would definitely be back and recommend people to come eat here.“

When I went to pick up the food, the oxtails were not quite ready, though everything else in my order was good to go. They later brought the oxtail to the school for me. When the oxtail arrived it was per-fection, the meat was tender and dropping off the bone. The oxtail was well worth the wait. “This is my go to place when I have a large group to entertain. Our server was great and very professional but very personable as well. I ordered a coconut mojito and it was literally a glass of ice with a drop of coconut and a sugar stick that had seen better days. I told our server it was terrible and I got another one it was still awful and I couldn't drink it. It was very disappointing since I've had them before and they were good. Our food was great and we celebrated my friend's birthday with a special dessert . They need a new bartender those drinks were terrible! I shouldn't had to pay for those drinks but I was charged anyway. I'll have to think twice about going back“

“Quality Jamaican food in Brooklyn Heights! The food is consistent I think I've tried everything on the menu. The meat just falls off the bone and is seasoned to perfection. The Oxtail, Stew Chicken, Rasta Pasta you name it they all are delightful. A party in your mouth at a reasonable price you just can't beat it. I really wanted to Gate Keep this one but its so good others need to try it.“

I would not recommend the curry chicken if you are looking for a true, jamaican curry period that curry here was dark and thick, like other caribbean islands, possibly trinidad, make it, and that's not what we like. You definitely want to order in.advance.. as each order is made fresh- IT IS WORTH THE WAIT!!!... there is no seating or indoor dining. Straight take out.“
