“Recently I watched an episode of “Comedian in Cars Drinking Coffee” with Jerry Seinfeld and Sabastain M. On this particular episode they went to Faicco’s Itailian deli. They talked about how good the sandwich was. Since we were heading to NY from Chicago, thought this would be a great place to stop . Let’s just say it didn’t disappoint. We had the Italian sandwich - it was so amazing. People should put this on their list to visit when coming to NY.“

“The “Golden Boy” was delicious, with very fresh mozzarella cheese. Even the small sandwich is quite filling—you could probably feed two people with it! The restaurant is cash-only, but they do have an ATM inside, which is convenient. Service was pretty quick, and the staff were friendly and polite. Definitely worth trying!“

“My new favorite appetizing: The best bagels I've ever eaten: perfect crust around tasty middles with just the right amount of chew. Seeded varieties are throughly coated, top and bottom. Bialys are tender with flavorful onion filling. There is a pretzel bagel. A PRETZEL BAGEL. And chili crisp cream cheese! And wait, there's more: That king smoked salmon? Rich and tender, delicately smoked. Whitefish salad? Tuna salad? Far more fish than filler and perfectly delicious. Off the charts customer service, from email response to ordering to pick-up. We traveled from Long Island to shop at Shelsky's, and we'll definitely do it again.“

“I read the service loan not because the service staff was an issue, but I am sick and tired of being penalized for using cash. I didn’t realize I went to the counter. I made my order selected everything and then I was told if I need to pay cash. I need to go to a kiosk. Annoying because now I have to go through all these menus to figure out what I just ordered feed cash into machine wait for that to come out. Totally unnecessary step and unfortunately something that would make me not want to stop here because they added a layer of complexity. It wasn’t necessary. Now I’m sure by the tone of my review that you could probably tell how old I am but that’s fine by me. I like walking into an establishment explaining what I want paying cash and walking out. It’s that simple but yet this isn’t. That being said, the food is fabulous so if the kiosk doesn’t bother you and you never pay cash then so be it.“

“1st time to New Jersey. We decided to order from a deli, so we ordered from Poppies, best decision we ever made. We ordered through a delivery service and it was still hot when it arrived. We ordered the hot roast beef sandwich on long roll and a bacon cheese burger on long roll with 2 bags of doretoes. They did not disappoint they were big, hot and very tasty. I will recommend to friends and family if they are coming to New Jersey from Texas anytime in the future.“

However, they were very patient with us and told us what the special sandwiches of the day were. We got that day's special which was roastbeef. It was quite delicious. Next time, I would like to try a sandwich with bresaola (if they have).“

“I do not live in NYC, but I was trying to find someone who could provide food for my daughter's baby shower in the city. After researching a few options online, I contacted The Picnic Basket. I am so glad I did. The shower was to be in Central Park on a Saturday, and I was concerned about getting everything there safely and reasonably easily. As The Picnic Basket is closed on Saturday, I knew we'd need it Friday as late as possible.
They were so helpful, providing suggestions and a menu online with a lot of great options. I was able to order enough food for a party of 20 at a reasonable price. When my son-in-law arrived to pick it up, it was exceptionally well-packed and labeled. It all fit in their small apartment fridge, and we were able to get everything to the shower easily. Everyone absolutely loved the sandwich variety as well as the large kale salad. Everything was excellent and we were able to easily re-pack the leftovers for later. Great food, great service, great communication and budget-friendly. Would not hesitate to use them again! Thanks, Picnic Basket!“

UPDATE: It’s been about five years since my original review, and Mordi’s has definitely earned our business back. The food is still fantastic, and ordering through the app has made the busy lunch rush much easier. It’s once again a go-to for our office lunches. 🥪🔥

The Chicken Parm, Buffalo Chicken, and Crazy Cuban are some of our favorites. There can still be a wait because this place gets BUSY, but our recent experiences have been much better. Glad to have Mordi’s back in the lunch rotation!

Old Review

I was torn over writing this review. I have eaten a Mordi’s a number of times since it is extremely close to my office. They are a busy place the food is always good. However they need to take a moment and work on their customer service. We recently placed a big order for our Friday lunch, when we returned to the office we realized one sandwich was missing. We immediately called the shop as we got into the car. As soon as they picked they placed us on hold for five minutes without even given us a chance to tell them why we were calling. When they returned to the phone they said they are not taking any phone orders because they were busy and hung up the phone on us again without even hearing their customer our.

When my partner entered the shop and asked who hung up on us the woman behind the counter half heartily apologized. I’m sorry with so many great lunch options in this area Mordi’s will have to treat their customers with more dignity and respect before my office gives them any of our business.“

“I had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a Subway, and it’s entirely thanks to Kumar. From the moment I spoke to him, he greeted me with a genuineness and made me feel welcome. I’m a bit particular about how I like my sandwich made, and instead of rushing me or seeming annoyed, Kumar listened patiently to every single request and made sure he got it exactly right. He even offered a couple of suggestions for combinations I hadn’t thought of, and they turned out to be perfect. The sandwich itself was honestly the best one I’ve had.

Everything was fresh, the toppings were laid out evenly instead of all bunched in the middle, and it was toasted exactly the way I asked. You can tell Kumar actually takes pride in his work rather than just going through the motions. It’s a small thing, but the care he puts into each sandwich makes a real difference, and I noticed he was just as attentive with all the other customers in line. What also stood out was how clean and well-organized everything was behind the counter. Kumar kept the station tidy, changed his gloves without being asked, and handled the whole process with a level of attention to detail you don’t always see.

Even when a small line started forming, he never let the quality slip or seemed flustered, he just kept moving efficiently while still giving each person his full attention. That kind of consistency under pressure says a lot about someone’s work ethic. Kumar is the kind of employee any business would be lucky to have. He was kind, patient, professional, and genuinely friendly the entire time, even though the store was busy. It made my whole day better, and I’ll definitely be coming back to this location because of him. Subway management, please recognize this guy, he’s doing an outstanding job. Thank you, Kumar!“
