“Finally went to Moono and it delivered. Each dish held its own with unique flavors. We had a la carte among four of us with a bottle of makeoli and were happily filled with 1 appetizer and 3 entrees. We ordered an extra bowl of white rice which is the move as so many dishes had excellent sauces that you just wanted to soak up with rice, plus the white rice itself is perfect with a sweetness to it.

We had Hoe Muchim + Kim, Beef Hotpot, Mushroom Sotbap, and Galbijjim. It was outstanding from the cold cucumber soup at the beginning to the end. Beef hotpot is great for those who appreciate that pure beef taste and experience- it is lightly seasoned and in my opinion a great contrast to the big flavors of Galbijjim. Galbijjim is a crowd pleaser and easy to enjoy, it is a most indulgent version with meat removed from the bones. We only wished the dish were layered with more vegetables / mushrooms, which were not side characters in this dish. Sotbap was fragrant - only wished that they scooped out the crispy bits, which are the best parts. Maybe they can offer guests the option to serve themselves rather than take away and return with the scooped out bowls for each person.

Also would love to see more makgeolli options on the drinks menu.

“First, I need to preface this was a Thanksgiving dinner. It is almost always the case that holiday dinners (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve etc) there is a usual penalty the diner takes in quality and elevated price. It is not a criticism of Empire Steak House, just how things work in the industry to set the context.\n\nWith that stated and considered, the overall meal was better than I expected. My only real criticism regarding the food was the pumpkin soup was a little thin. \n\nWe each had filet mignon. They were well prepared and of good quantity and quality. Staff were accommodating and friendly. We even received a little complimentary port after dessert, which was a nice gesture. \n\nWe had the set Thanksgiving menu which gave you multiple choices for starter, principal plate, and dessert. We had the pumpkin soup and calamari to start (see prior comments on the soup. The fried calamari was fine). We both found the vegetables well prepared that went with our steaks. For dessert, the pumpkin pie was tasty and well portioned along with the sorbet.\n\nIn addition to the above food, we had three glasses of wine. The total price with tax and 20% tip was $365. All in all this was a good value. We may return. Even though we generally don't go out for steak very often, this may be a safer bet in the theater district since the ingredients at Empire Steak House seem to be of good quality and charming service.“

“This is a very small restaurant so important to make reservations. I love sitting at the bar only 4 seats lots of space for the food. The bartender let me sample several beers to help me decide which I thought was so kind. Food is gooood clean And nice variety although. It's I fish specially they offer steak and a bone marrow dish so 2026“

“I have to say for the small amount of food the prices are a bit high.
The calamares were good, but the cheese plate i wasn't happy with it. They gave me 3 very tiny thin slices of hard white cheese, 1 very small brie, 2 dry pieces of white bread, 1 dry piece of priciutto and what I mostly did not like was the 2 slices of mortadella meat. They could have given a better meat choice also instead of dry bread water crackers would be a better choice.
That's just cheap meat to me. Usually when I order a charcuterie plate I am satisfied. This was not satisfying.
My husband had the burger he said it was OK.
Nothing to brag about.
The Tin building inside has a nice vibe.
Other than that I felt like when I was in France. Very little food with high prices.

The crabs, mussels and shrimp were FRESH and DELECTABLE. The vegetables were seasoned to perfection. least of them all the amount that you receive is enough to feed a full size family, and we only ordered for two. I will definitely be back. “Took my visiting sister there on a Tuesday evening. She was taken aback by the level of service that made us feel like VIPs! After getting a great window seat, my Sis jokingly said, "How romantic, too bad I'm here with my brother". Our gorgeous server Michelle was spectacular. She made multiple trips to the bar to find 'just the right wine' for my sister's particular taste and made two special requests to the kitchen on our behalf. Michelle's calming presence and 'in the moment' attitude made us feel very special. Being an intellectual herself, Michelle engaged with us most excellently in conversation. I've had a few nice meals before at the Chart House, but this by far was the best experience ever thanks to Michelle.“

“Too bad there aren’t more stars to click on. As a Sicilian/Italian every time I go to an Italian restaurant I have to always settle for the close enough. Not this time at Piccola Cucina Estiatorio, 71 Thompson Street NYC. After seeing their extremely authentic Sicilian menu online I knew that it had to be the real thing. After easily reserving a table online we showed up with yes our hopes being very high. For the first time the food was everything I had hoped for. 1. Arancini: nicely crunchy and flavored. Not oily or old at all. 2. Grilled veggies: although simply presented they were really tasty and fresh. 3. Involtini: out of this world. Exactly made like in my town in Sicily. A Moist, tender, flavored with some really tasty mozzarella cheese, served on a nice bed of caponata. 4. Maccheroni alla Norma: finally my very favorite dish. I almost cried. Besides a fantastic pasta, rigorously cooked al dente, there was a more than generous amount of diced eggplant, obviously, with basil leaves, olive oil and everything the Mediterranean has so generously given to Sicily for thousands of years. It’s worth mentioning the more than welcome grated “ricotta salata” as a testimony to the high attention to detail of Chef Gioele. That was a dinner I will not easily forget. The last thing I want to say is that, according to the highly professional and attentive staff, almost every single ingredient in this restaurant is flown directly from Sicily including the very tasty cannoli filled with ricotta cheese. (The cheese flies frozen during shipping). Sorry for the long review. I only wanted to show my super happiness with this restaurant. ANGELO.“
