“We had a cute date night at this place, but it fell short of our expectations. We were excited after reading the glowing reviews, but the service was disappointing. Given the limited seating and the small number of guests, we expected more attention and guidance on the menu. However, the menu was not extensive, so we didn’t receive a comprehensive overview of the dishes.

Despite these shortcomings, the food was delicious. Each dish was unique, and the flavors and presentation were perfect. This is a seafood restaurant, so be prepared for a variety of dishes, some of which are served raw.

“Finally went to Moono and it delivered. Each dish held its own with unique flavors. We had a la carte among four of us with a bottle of makeoli and were happily filled with 1 appetizer and 3 entrees. We ordered an extra bowl of white rice which is the move as so many dishes had excellent sauces that you just wanted to soak up with rice, plus the white rice itself is perfect with a sweetness to it.

We had Hoe Muchim + Kim, Beef Hotpot, Mushroom Sotbap, and Galbijjim. It was outstanding from the cold cucumber soup at the beginning to the end. Beef hotpot is great for those who appreciate that pure beef taste and experience- it is lightly seasoned and in my opinion a great contrast to the big flavors of Galbijjim. Galbijjim is a crowd pleaser and easy to enjoy, it is a most indulgent version with meat removed from the bones. We only wished the dish were layered with more vegetables / mushrooms, which were not side characters in this dish. Sotbap was fragrant - only wished that they scooped out the crispy bits, which are the best parts. Maybe they can offer guests the option to serve themselves rather than take away and return with the scooped out bowls for each person.

Also would love to see more makgeolli options on the drinks menu.

“a few weeks ago, went to the Merrmaid oyster bar on the upper West side had a fabulous meal awesome bartender…… the calamari and shrimp and avocado sliders were amazing ….. had dinner again last night at the Mermaid oyster bar in Times Square both Food and service were amazing… it’s a must to have the Chunu, wellfleet & naked, cowboy Oysters.. Shanghai spareribs and kale salad with chorizo crusted Chatham cod was fabulous…. lastly, linguine, and clam with the lobster roll was my favorite throughout the night…..“

“I have to say for the small amount of food the prices are a bit high.
The calamares were good, but the cheese plate i wasn't happy with it. They gave me 3 very tiny thin slices of hard white cheese, 1 very small brie, 2 dry pieces of white bread, 1 dry piece of priciutto and what I mostly did not like was the 2 slices of mortadella meat. They could have given a better meat choice also instead of dry bread water crackers would be a better choice.
That's just cheap meat to me. Usually when I order a charcuterie plate I am satisfied. This was not satisfying.
My husband had the burger he said it was OK.
Nothing to brag about.
The Tin building inside has a nice vibe.
Other than that I felt like when I was in France. Very little food with high prices.

“Just went here with my mom and it was great. We got the tuna tartare as an appetizer and it was sooooo good and fresh 🤤🤤. For entrees she got their clam pasta and loved it, and I got their special scallops which were super tasty!! It was a little noisy but personally I didn’t really care. Overall great service and the food was delicious!!! (They also gave us some free pound cake at the end which was nice)“

“We had a nice experience here. My steak was very good, I really did enjoy it. My husband things his dish dish was also pleasant. At first our waiter was a bit stiff and stand offish but he opened up and was professional. The location is beautiful and so is the space. I wouldn’t make a special trip to go back here specifically but if I’m in the mall again, I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It’s quality service and food, expensive but it’s NYC.“

After getting a great window seat, my Sis jokingly said, "How romantic, too bad I'm here with my brother". Our gorgeous server Michelle was spectacular. She made multiple trips to the bar to find 'just the right wine' for my sister's particular taste and made two special requests to the kitchen on our behalf. Michelle's calming presence and 'in the moment' attitude made us feel very special. Being an intellectual herself, Michelle engaged with us most excellently in conversation. “Too bad there aren’t more stars to click on. As a Sicilian/Italian every time I go to an Italian restaurant I have to always settle for the close enough. Not this time at Piccola Cucina Estiatorio, 71 Thompson Street NYC. After seeing their extremely authentic Sicilian menu online I knew that it had to be the real thing. After easily reserving a table online we showed up with yes our hopes being very high. For the first time the food was everything I had hoped for. 1. Arancini: nicely crunchy and flavored. Not oily or old at all. 2. Grilled veggies: although simply presented they were really tasty and fresh. 3. Involtini: out of this world. Exactly made like in my town in Sicily. A Moist, tender, flavored with some really tasty mozzarella cheese, served on a nice bed of caponata. 4. Maccheroni alla Norma: finally my very favorite dish. I almost cried. Besides a fantastic pasta, rigorously cooked al dente, there was a more than generous amount of diced eggplant, obviously, with basil leaves, olive oil and everything the Mediterranean has so generously given to Sicily for thousands of years. It’s worth mentioning the more than welcome grated “ricotta salata” as a testimony to the high attention to detail of Chef Gioele. That was a dinner I will not easily forget. The last thing I want to say is that, according to the highly professional and attentive staff, almost every single ingredient in this restaurant is flown directly from Sicily including the very tasty cannoli filled with ricotta cheese. (The cheese flies frozen during shipping). Sorry for the long review. I only wanted to show my super happiness with this restaurant. ANGELO.“

“I am not even a fan of lobster rolls but maaann, their aint nothing like grabbing a roll from here and heading to the sweet lil park down the street and watching Lady Liberty whilst chowing down on an all-American lobster roll. It really is a great feeling. Worth it everytime. Staff is nice too.“

I found Saar online, it was less than a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give them a try. So glad we did. Nice place. Great, friendly service (Karim is the man!), and excellent food. I ended up cancelling the reservations I made for night 3 and we went back to Saar. Give them a try if you like Indian food. It was amazing!“
