“Pricy of course, but the New York Strip Steak Au Poivre was tasty alone and with the sauce. They didn’t have every wine listed on the menu actually available and didn’t have any dessert options either. I wanted a Malbec, but instead went for the available Cabernet Sauvignon, Iconoclast (CA) which was jammy, full-bodied, and delicious. Altogether is was a great meal although the service was near nonexistent when I came and there were so many small bugs flying around that I had to cover my drinks with napkins.“

I needed the restroom right away, and the bartender, Orlando, kindly escorted me to it, making me feel so welcomed. Once we were seated, the food started arriving, and I was blown away. We were in the mood for something that felt like a dinner date without heading too far from home, and Adour totally hit the mark. Let me tell you, for the affordable prices, the quality of the food blew us away. The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for cozy, elevated, and with great vibes all around. We kept it classic with a rosé and a Hugo Spritz (both so refreshing), for starters we got the mussels in tomato sauce, and for dinner we ordered the lamb chops and the Adour burger with truffle fries - absolutely to die for. “Such a lovely experience overall! Came here to catch up with my cousin who lives in Hoboken and wanted to try somewhere neither of us have been before. It’s so quaint and beautiful inside loved all the decor. The staff is so friendly and a good balance of accommodating but letting you just enjoy being at dinner together without the feel of being rushed out. The cocktails were amazingggg, I found myself chugging without even realizing because I just enjoyed it so much. The food was amazing and filling as well. We got the steak and chicken for dinner and the tuna for appetizer. Would definitely come here again, such a vibe. A lot of the people around us were speaking other languages than English too which I loved, felt like a real melting pot!
They also shut the lights off to sing happy birthday to another table which was really cute because it made us all get involved!“

“I love coming to Wasai Bistro whenever I’m visiting the east coast. I’ve followed Chef Nelson since his days at Aozora and Wabi Sabi. His food quality, menu options, and value are unmatched in the area. Once you try his food you will understand why he has so many repeat diners. I highly recommend the Mes Reves Roll, Uni and bone marrow ramen, Miso glazed sea bass entree and salmon lover entree but it’s very hard to go wrong with anything Chef Nelson serves. Parking is street parking only but honestly I’ve always had a very easy time finding a spot. BYOB so you can drink what you love.“

The space has a charming vibe with plenty of seating, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I tried a pancake served with butter and fresh fruit, as well as a baked quiche with prosciutto and cheese (wish I had snapped a photo!). Beyond pastries and croissants, they also offer sandwiches, soups, and salads for lunch. The café had a steady flow of guests, with many choosing to sit and relax.
