“The service was really smooth and the ambience was perfect for a group of friends or a date. It was really cozy and felt
relaxing. It’s the best I’ve had in NYC so far and I would absolutely come back again to try more dishes from their menu.
Recommend everything I had:
Appetizer: Shrimp Balchao
Main: lamb vindaloo, goat curry, lamb Rogan rosh
Drinks: Mango Lassi, Mango Mojito“

“Aug 2, 24 - stopped by today. Was extremely impressed by the service, food and overall hospitality. Pictured here is the chicken Hakka noodles, and American chop suey. It was definitely authentic indo-Chinese. They also gave us complementary coconut custard ? Will definitely recommend and look forward to returning when we visit New York again.“

“It's an absolute experience! You get to experience street food from all over India. The back story is the chef and owners traveled throughout India to experience popular street hawker dishes and brought chefs from India who specifically make these dishes. They are in the kitchen and met them.
The staff is super great here and if you get to meet Chef Akshay, he's a gem. Their GM is also the creator of their cocktail program, which you.must experience of you like trying different cocktails.
Here are some of the dishes I ate. I've been here 4 times already. Even took fam visiting from out of town and they loved it.
Goat chops marinated twice with about 9 spices, yogurt and papya before going into a tandoor oven.wow! The flavor here is deep and savory and tender meat.
Ros omelette. Ros means sauce. A Goan shrimp curry dish over an Omlete. With about 16 spices was just banging! Great curry sauce and shrimps were huge!
Empire Fried chicken served in a basket along with a chili sauce was one of my favorites. Had this twice. Love the presentation!
Basket chat. A basket made of potato , stuffed with a variety of sauces, smashed potatoes, yogurt and pomegranate. Was the perfect appetizer !
Pandi curry. Pork belly, kachumpuli extract., Kodava specialty from Coorg, a city in India. From the days of the raj when wild boar was hunted and curried. If you get this dish, pair it with rice or a paratha bread.
Pani Puri are little crisp fried dough stuffed with potatoes and filled with a sauce. The 3 options here were mint chili, pineapple and green mango sauce.
Amindabad ki galouti. 18 spices in a lamb pattie from a 100 year old recipe. This one is spicy, if you can't handle spice.
Had such a great time feasting at Jazba. To experience the diverse cusines of India, this is a can't miss spot.

“My favorite Indian food in NYC, good vibes, and the nicest staff! I've brought so many friends here because it's just the best. Our favorite dishes are the chicken bukhni kebab (the pineapple chutney is so good), achari paneer, veeray di gobhi, samosa chaat, pindi chole, butter chicken, bhuna goat, ludhianvi lamb curry, and goat biryani. Portions are generous and prices are super reasonable.
Vegetarian options: I'm not a vegetarian, but several of my friends are, and we all love this place. Good vegetarian dishes include achari paneer, veeray di gobhi, samosa chaat, pindi chole, paneer makhani, aloo gobhi, and dhaba dal.“

“I spent a month traveling around India, and one of my favorite experiences was sampling the local biryani all over the country. It was heavenly.
HZ is one of the few Indian restaurants in the Tri-State area where I taste that same level of authenticity and flavor. The Hyderabadi Goongura Veg Dum Biryani is uncompromisingly savory and tart, driven by the fermented hibiscus paste that they layer throughout. The Mahi Fry Biryani features complex layers of spices, as does the Lamb Fry Biryani--and neither rely on the animal protein to provide flavor to the rice. Rather, the protein is complementary to the spice flavor profiles already encased in the rice.
Their other dishes are no losers either, from the wonderfully zesty HZ Special Chicken Lollipops, to the hearty Kadhai Subz, to the pungent Gobi 65. But the biryani is really the quarterback of the lot, and you should not leave without trying at least one.
Finally, no more schlepping to Newark Ave in Jersey City!“

“From outside it looks like Small boutique Restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine & I just found it while roaming around streets of New York during recent visit & this accidental discovery didn't let me down, food quality & quantity both are amazing, owner is present almost from 11 am to 11 pm & staff is courteous, highly recommended as I visited all the sought after restaurants in town but this one stands out for the gourmet Indian food.“

“Great service and friendly staff. Went with family after week of trying to get reservation. The apps were delicious but the main course didn't follow. We ordered 2 vegetarian curries, one was paneer which was disappointing and second Achari Aloo, which was good. The Daal Bungalow with rice and roti was good combo. Overall the experience and the ambience was great but the food selection and taste didn't hold the high standard. Definately worth visiting if you're able to get a reservation.“

“In the past, New York City was renowned for its authentic culinary delights hidden in unassuming corners, such as the junction of Houston and First. Following gigs at Arlene's Grocery, Mercury Lounge, and CBGB, it was customary to savor these treats. Although it's been ages since my last performance at Mercury Lounge, I took advantage of its proximity and revisited. Much to my delight, the food remained irresistibly flavorful and affordable! Their menu featured a variety of seven piping hot dishes, with a strong emphasis on vegan options. From savory samosas to crispy pakoras and other delightful Indian/Pakistani delicacies, the choices were plentiful. This spot is highly recommended for a quick and satisfying meal in the area. While seating is limited, there's a standing counter indoors where you can enjoy your meal if dining in.“

The service was impressively fast, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Mr. Tarrak was very helpful, adding a personal touch to our visit. I highly recommend trying the Paneer Kaali Mirch – it was absolutely delicious and a standout dish. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I can't wait to repeat!“

“Small, rare, Indian gem. Excellent find. Everything from the decor, to the food, to the service, to the value was worth 5 stars. The owner/manager/chef Vinay Kalee was not only attentive to our needs but his recommendations were outstanding. The appetizer, Bhel Poori, (A melange of crisp rice puffs with tangy chutney) was not ordered but was served complimentary and it was delicious, highly recommend. Do bring a bottle of wine, it is a byob. I forgot to bring a bottle but luckily, J & J Pharmacy is right down the block and they do sell some wine. We ordered Tandoori Kulcha Onion bread, Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Korma..all of which were delicious. This was our first time at Rudra Indian Bistro but it won't be our last, it will now be our favorite, go to, Indian Restaurant. And for those days we don't want to leave the house, they deliver. Do yourself a favor and check this gem out.“

“Five of us had a thoroughly satisfying meal at Curry Flavor. After an assortment of appetizers, and naan, we all had different dishes. I had the lamb korma, which was excellent. Everyone else was also pleased with their choices. Portions were generous, and we brought home almost enough for another meal. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the East Village.“

“I was thirsty, so I ducked into this place and was greeted by a friendly guy behind the counter. He suggested the Mango Lassi, and I'm so glad I listened! It was a homemade masterpiece, a perfect harmony of fresh mango sweetness and creamy yogurt richness. The place had a lively atmosphere and a tantalizing array of Indian delights. The same friendly guy couldn't stop raving about this dessert called Ras Malai, which has piqued my curiosity. I've never heard of it, but his enthusiasm was infectious, and I can't wait to come back and try it.“

We were a large group that tried many appetizers and entrees and not a single dish disappointed - every bite was amazing. The owners have not overlooked a single detail in not only the menu, but also the elegant decor. If you are looking for authentic Indian food with a modern feel, you will not be disappointed!“

“Gulaabo is a delightful gem situated just steps away from the bustling Times Square area, where thousands of people are constantly taking selfies and capturing memories. The restaurant offers a beautiful setting to enjoy Indian-style cuisine amidst the vibrant cityscape.
Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed by the simple yet classic ambiance. The decor strikes a perfect balance, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience.
We ordered two dishes along with water and tea. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with the total bill, including gratuity, coming to around $57. Considering the prime location and quality of food, Gulaabo provides excellent value for money.
Overall, Gulaabo is a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy good Indian food in a charming setting near Times Square. Whether you're a local or a tourist, it's definitely worth a visit.“

“I love the Pondicherry dosa and am a regular here. The dosas are very well priced and compare very well to some of the best dosas in the city. Not sure entirely though if the wait is worth it every time though as you can find many other cheap eats in the area. Worth trying at least once though even if you’re not a regular like me. I love the food here but I do think more spice is needed in both the dosa and the sambar. The sambar is much less impressive to me than the dosa is (both are still very good). The owner is a super friendly guy and always has a smile on his face and is super friendly with all the customers. Hard working man who deserves nothing but the best“

“Located in Bergen County, this place is very small and offers limited seating. The place doesn't have much ambiance as such but they do have some good food to serve. I bought jalebi and fafda but was disappointed to know that they don't offer the papaya chutney. The chutneys which they offered were too watery and this can be improved upon whereas I had also bought dhokla which was fresh and was good. This place does offer the majority of snacks but I believe they can expand on the business by offering certain snacks( example: khandvi) through orders.“
