“I really came fully prepared to hate on this place, most of all because C picked it, but also because it is hyped to death. Further hatred materialized when I waited in line for our reservation and felt like a schmuck.
Then I realized the line wasn't for people with reservations, I went inside, we were seated immediately, our waiter was fabulous, the food was fabulous, and the wine was fabulous. Everything was phenomenal and extra, extra good.“

I appreciate Kimika’s creative menu with plenty of vegetarian options. Our waitress Kara/Cara was so friendly and helpful. I started with a Spritz that I think could’ve used some more bubbles, but the flavors were on point. The food was good but I felt like there could’ve been a bit more flavor. We tried the Truffle Carbonara, Soy Butter Bigoli, and Eggplant Katsu - I think the Bigoli was my favorite (think elevated lo mien). For dessert, we tried the lava cake, matcha French toast (would get it with ice cream if I were to over come again) and the Nutella Bombolocini (very creative - think mochi stuffed with Nutella).
Overall, I loved the concept of Kimika and the service, but I think there could’ve been just a tad more flavor in some of our dishes. Definitely a place to try once!“

“Bit of a mixed bag here. The room is cool, chill vibes, good music and lighting and professional, friendly service. We had the “surprise” 6 course tasting menu. There was definitely a problem in the kitchen because there were some extremely long delays between courses, our meal took 2 1/2 hours.
We started with the complimentary focaccia, delicious and we went for the ricotta upcharge, $10 for 2 tablespoons of ricotta. Not sure the value proposition was there.
Flavors were generally on point, the eggplant with some charred greens was OK but didn’t love it. Favorite dish was the crab agnolotti, scrumptious.
The bucatini served before that was perfectly cooked, but was excessively salty, apparently because of the capers as we mentioned the issue to the server. However, it definitely tasted like someone slipped with the salt shaker. Our main was a kind of disappointing plate of mini meatballs in a sweet and savory sauce. Interesting but for $129 menu maybe we expected more than mini meatballs.
Dessert was a scoop of peach and Prosecco sorbet, refreshing, but a little bit underwhelming for dessert on a tasting menu. I guess as I am writing this I kind of wanted to like it more than I actually ended up liking it.“

“My first time at Via 13 left a lasting impression and will return soon. The staff was very welcoming and helpful with menu suggestions. We enjoyed all of them. Knowing I was a vegan, they sent out a complimentary pasta dish that was super tasty, which was very thoughtful. The space (with skylight) is beautiful and inviting. The staff, food, interior design and service of Via 13 is impeccable.“

“Loved this small 100 year old Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village. The food was delish, but even better than the food was the atmosphere and the staff. Our waiter was Tony. Not only was he funny, he knew his pasta! We felt like old friends by the time we left! The bartender was not only beautiful to look at, he too treated us like old friends! He meet us at the door on our way out and gifted me with a juicy birthday kiss! Totally made my night!“

“A true gem in the Union Sq/Washington Sq area that combines carefully selected hors d'oeuvres and a wine selection by true connoisseurs.
In late 2024, I became a regular. Yes, the selection of wine is expert, you might be surprised by a fine selection from Alto Adige, which is the chef’s homeland. At Sorsó, you have certified sommeliers who are ready to answer you and help you make the right decision for whatever is your mood . The charcuterie selection, as I mentioned, is spot on. The salads are superb and, honestly, the artichokes are divine — my favorite! The ambience is intimate and feels like home.“

Visited this quaint restaurant on a special occasion that has broadened my understanding on Northern Italian cuisine. The appetizer, an equivalent of beef tartar, had a delicate balance of freshness that was accentuated by the hazelnut chips to give a nutty, rich undertone. The pastas were supremely enjoyable and I can taste the gaminess of the rabbits mixed with the cheese’s dairy flavors all wrapped perfectly with the pasta. Ate and left no crumbs. The fish special of the day was a treat. The juiciness and the firmness of the fish is rewarding and addictive. The side of fries have room for improvement as they were too dry and bit oily. The hospitality was top notch though the distance between each seats makes you feel like seating on Spirit Airlines and not much privacy with your personal conversations.“

“I’m so happy our original Christmas Eve reservation was cancelled and we found this gem. It was perfect. Romantic ambience, beyond excellent service, food was delicious, drinks were strong. My boyfriend and I shared: Appetizers: -Seared scallops: I know right, scallops. Generic usually? But these were in an amazing sauce which was devoured with our side of bread. -Octopus carpaccio: Perfect amount of freshness to balance the rich scallops. Main: -The wood fired fish for two: they brought the fish out from the kitchen to show us the fish in flames and that was very cute and appreciated -Meatless Rigatoni: I seriously held on to this dish to the very last moments even though I didn’t have enough room to finish it lol I was obsessed with the sauce Dessert: - Panna Cotta: the balsamic reduction was something I did not expect with this dessert but it was magical“
