“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

“This was a fantastic experience! From the moment we stepped inside, the staff was courteous, engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a party of 3, and ordered 6 dishes. Each dish came out as it was made and each dish was absolutely delicious. A person in our party had a gluten allergy which was no problem and accommodated with ease. We come to NY every year and this will absolutely be a place we revisit again and again! Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike will appreciate the dishes and be amazed with the taste! Highly recommended!“

“Went for an early dinner like 4:30 pm for a pizza, we were the only ones in there.
As expected service was super attentive and very friendly and kind.
I ordered the honey pepperoni pizza. I ate the whole thing minus a few crusts. The sauce was delicious.
The place was very beautiful inside and they had a very clean bathroom.
I would definitely come back!“

I appreciate Kimika’s creative menu with plenty of vegetarian options. Our waitress Kara/Cara was so friendly and helpful. I started with a Spritz that I think could’ve used some more bubbles, but the flavors were on point. The food was good but I felt like there could’ve been a bit more flavor. We tried the Truffle Carbonara, Soy Butter Bigoli, and Eggplant Katsu - I think the Bigoli was my favorite (think elevated lo mien). For dessert, we tried the lava cake, matcha French toast (would get it with ice cream if I were to over come again) and the Nutella Bombolocini (very creative - think mochi stuffed with Nutella).
Overall, I loved the concept of Kimika and the service, but I think there could’ve been just a tad more flavor in some of our dishes. Definitely a place to try once!“

“I went there with my boyfriend and his father during a trip in NYC and we weren’t disappointed. My boyfriend had the kofta kobab which had a very meaty texture. His father had the wild mushroom kobab and I took the braised "beef". Everything was delicious, including the dessert (ekmek kataifi) which wasn’t too sweet, just perfect 😊“

“This is my new favorite meal that I’ve had in the city! Like the title says, I loved every single bite. We ordered: japchae dumplings, bbq pork buns, lion’s mane bites, leek pancakes, beef pho, and crispy crab roll. Surprisingly, my favorite bite of the night was the leek pancakes! I would order everything again but I also want to try the entire menu. I can’t wait to come back! Unfortunately, we were half way through our first few plates when I remembered to take pictures and then I completely forgot with our next round. Too yummy to care! “wow wow wowwww one of the best salads I’ve had ever ever. this place is exactly everything i could dream for in a cafe/restaurant/casual grab and go or stay for hours type spot. all the food options are made with super clean ingredients, all plant based, and made with whole foods. It’s all protein packed and packed with sooo many good nutrients + SOOO DELICIOUS!!! loved the quinoa taco salad and studied here for hours. ALSO THE DRINKS!!! dark cherry matcha latte was so strong, perfectly balanced in flavor, and slight sweetness. made with elmhurst milks too which are s tier.“

By any regular metric, this is a 5/5. Unfortunately, this is New York. More unfortunately, they have a Michelin star. Thus, they must be judged within the strata in which they belong.
The ingredients were FRESH. This is their calling card. The carrots, the squash, the beets, the buckwheat. Kudos to their souring.
The meal is an imbalanced (to me and my table). We were craving protein, and this place highlights the produce. I will say the tastiest dish was a non meat course (mushrooms in a dashi broth)
Not top of my list, but massive respect to what they serve and what they represent.“

It seems that nearly everything is prepared to order, and as a result if coming here you should be prepared to possibly wait longer than most restaurants for your food to be ready.
I do wish there was a way for the restaurant to communicate this to avoid problems with new customers who may be expecting quicker service.“

“I live in basically the middle of nowhere. Most food I eat is relegated to home cooking or traveling several towns over if I ever want to eat out. I'm visiting the city for a weekend. Oh my god I didn't know we were at this level. Genuinely some of the greatest plant meat food I've ever had. “My friend had heard of this restaurant before and had never gone, so when we spontaneously came across it after a trip to McSorley’s, we had to experience this mushroom-inspired restaurant. We were a little nervous it would be TOO mushroomy, but it wasn’t at all and was a truly incredible experience. The ambiance is impeccable and the food was so innovative with many fun (but well-balanced) flavors. We had the ramen, millet feuille, and ravioli followed by the lava cake. The ramen and lava cake were especially good but we loved everything. Highly recommend for a creative meal out with friends or a romantic date night — don’t hesitate, just go!“
