“I love everything about this place. I started coming here looking for a quick place for lunch close to my job. They have the freshest shrimp rolls with the freshest seafood I’ve ever had? “Illata has become our favorite Fitler Square restaurant, and we've been in the neighborhood for 22 years. It's a little gem, nestled on Gray's Ferry Ave just steps from South Street. The staff is extraordinarily pleasant and helpful, and the food is - in a word- exquisite. All delicious, all prepared beautifully, a very balanced menu of seafood, red meat and vegetarian options. Their desserts are divine!
But perhaps the most amazing, and extremely reasonable addition, to the menu is their sourdough bread- hearty and flavorful, with a perfect slightly chewy feel on the tongue. We've taken to order some to go!

“This might be one of the best ayce hot pot places I’ve been to!

You place your orders for meat via an iPad and all other foods (vegetables/fish balls/tofu etc) are self serve like a buffet. The meat comes out quickly and is good quality. The servers are very attentive and do a great job of taking away empty plates and replacing napkins. There are also some prepared foods, fruits, and desserts at the self serve station, as well as a full sauce bar. Drinks are located in the fridge (non alcoholic) and self serve, and are the classic Asian drinks like milk tea, aloe drink, and soy milk.

All tables have one large burner/one pot, so I wouldn’t recommend coming with a part of more than 4-5 people“

“Hello, I wasn’t sure because of the name but I’m glad I stopped. I had the Hibachi mix vegetable w chucks of chicken and nice size shrimp and fried rice, everything was deliciously fresh my rice was not sticky, and it came with a side salad, Thumps Up to #DrunkeCrab!! top off w a breath mint.“

“I really wish I could give a stellar review because the food is absolutely fabulous here. Not to mention, they will modify anything on the menu to food specifications, for instance for me who can't have gluten, eats only seafood and no cheese. Yes, they work with this with ease and everything is delicious.

The reason I can't give an amazing review is because having gone twice now, the first time our service was excellent and the second time more recently the service was very poor. Our food came out at different times to the table and as a group of four it was very disruptive. Also, many tables were turned over before we even got half way through our meal. I'm not sure what happened to be honest. I will say this was not our experience the first time we went and given how amazing the food is we will try it again.

The response from the owner that he would reach out was completely false. It is over 2 weeks now and I have heard nothing. For me, the irony was I was actually planning to come back out. But now…. ?‍♀️.

I went for restaurant week and ordered the shrimp creole. Omg I cleaned my plate and was still salivating over the idea of more when I got home. My partner ordered the crab soup and the salmon. Eyes rolled in the back of his head y’all. Everything was so well and for my first time they left a lasting impression. Would definitely dine here again. “It's your average Hood Deli. Breaded chicken wings are to die for. No thrills, but always FRESH. Mother and Father own and run the business. Both can be a little brash but overall it's a good place to get a quick bite that isn't expensive. Never ever have to worry about the food not being fresh either.“

“Excellent food and service. I had a very nice juicy well seasoned Ribeye steak. (Perfect for mama) Hubby had king crab fried rice, crispy rice sushi and lobster bisque. The rest of the family also had what I was told amazing dishes and cocktails.

This is a really great place and the staff are very nice. The bar seemed pretty busy. Lots of people celebrating birthdays. If you are looking for a nice date spot with good food and don't mind paying a little extra you can get a really amazing meal here.

Parking: Streets are horrible both afternoon and night. Your best bet for parking is to park at the mall inside the garage. You can pay through your phone to secure a spot.“

She cut into the center of the meat, acknowledged it immediately, and made me a new steak. The new meat was a satisfactory medium cooked steak. After that, the manager came and checked again to make sure there was no problem.
Overall, I think the service here is top notch. The distance between seats is appropriate, so it's not uncomfortable, and the interior is also great. I just think the quality of the steak taste wasn't as great as I expected. I think it's a great place to go to set the mood for a special day, or just have a glass of wine with a light menu. However, if your goal is to experience the best steak taste, we recommend going elsewhere.“
