“We came here during restaurant week, and the servings are just enough for each member of the group to try. This restaurant serves great food that makes you want to appreciate every bite. Sampan is linked, and this location is typically busy. Since the dining room was downstairs, there was a kind of nice corridor leading to it. You and your group can choose from a small variety of dishes to share at the table during restaurant week, with some items having an additional fee. There was a stronger romantic vibe. Here, the Kobe beef is a great choice.“
“That might we went was only me and my friends it was “vip” service. The chef was so warm welcomed and chitchat with us. The foods were amazing and fresh. Highly recommended. They sometimes change the food on the menu depending on the season or availability.“
“Pretty good experience! There was a little bit of a mix up with what we ordered but they instantly took care of it and got us the rest of our food. Some of the food was hit or miss. The broll, Bloc party, Hijiki, and e I shumai was great but I didn't really like the chashu because it was a bit gummy and the wings were not my favorite. But other than that, it was all great. I will definitely come back soon to try more things :)“
“a hidden gem of Philly!!!! absolutely worth it, the staff were so friendly, and fantastic at their jobs!! our server Alex helped us find everything we were looking for, and recommended us some great options for appetizers too!! will be going back!!“
“The staff was very attentive, quick and friendly. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and didn't expect such a rich taste - perfectly cooked noodles, a creamy broth and perfectly assorted toppings. Haven't had such good ramen outside of Japan. Will definitely come back again!“
“Served by Didi - absolutely devoured the steak fried rice, philly roll and spicy salmon roll. Been coming here for a long time and will continue to do so. Ask to buy the yum yum sauce - it’s made in house and can be bought in larger portions.“
“What a wonderful experience we had here. We had a reservation at 8:30pm, luckily for us we were the only ones eating at that time for the omakase. The chef was able to make all the sushi and serve us quickly, which was nice. All the fish was fresh and tasted delicious ?. Kimchi Omakase is truly a gem for the price. I will be back, I recommend you give them a try.“
“Place is out of this world. Best experience ever. 8 seats, 17 courses, chef explains every dish, what ingredients, where it’s from, etc. it was fun, music was perfect, and service was waiting on us at every moment. Really a top notch experience for omakase. Chef made it so much fun.“
“This place is SO good, a new neighborhood favorite. The sushi, robatayaki, and entrees we tried were all incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and well seasoned (especially the hangar steak robatayaki!!). Love that it's a BYO, too. The desserts were also a highlight - I would come back just for the cheesecake and the black sesame ice cream! Service was knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. We will be back!“
“I highly recommend yusushi. My wife loves Japanese food. Me not so much. But this place is amazing. They have the sushi, but they also have main entrees. I got the pork katsu curry. Which is a fried pork cutlet on rice with curry sauce. But they have other entrees on the menu. They have takeout option. Probably even delivery. If your in the mood for chinese, japanese is better if you are in Marlton ?“
“This place is a hidden gem! We were pleasantly surprised by the very generous portions, reasonable prices and the excellent service. The food was so delicious, my kids begged us to return the following evening for dinner! As a former pizza restaurant owner, their newly tweaked dough recipe is on point and consistent. We had the best pizza on the East coast 2 nights in a row. We made sure to order extra, as our server Yoram suggested the pizza was even better heated up later. If we're ever back that way in Philly, you can be sure we already have dinner plans!Kid-friendliness: Excellent service and the server was extra kind to my kids and even gave them treats for behaving so well during the meal“
“This place was immaculate from start to finish: the ambiance, the food, the drinks, the service… everything was perfection! If you’re thinking about visiting this place, this is your sign to do so!I tried the waygu roll, Mai fried rice, and the “hurts” roll. Everything was worth it! It’s a bit pricey here but again, you are paying for what you’re getting and that is pure deliciousness!“
“By far one of the best poke bowls I’ve ever had (and I’ve had my fair share of them)! The staff are so lovely and accommodating, and are happy to help give recommendations on different fish/sushi if you’re not sure what you’d like to try. Cannot recommend enough.“
“Delicious, fresh, exceptional, and tasty! Loved coming here and it was a first time experience. It was so delicious I have told all my friends about it. The menu is very diverse so lots to choose from. I tried the shumai, mochi ice cream, king crab roll, and the crunchy roll! Very affordable for all the food I got! ($39). Parking is street parking but a beautiful walk.“
“good food and good service! we only got the shrimp tempura roll and california roll, but both were yummy :D our waitress was very nice and they were giving complimentary mango martinis as well, which were delicious (u can get it virgin too). very cozy little space perfect for catching up w a friend or a small birthday, v good vibes :)“
“Came here for dinner during Wrestlemania 40 weekend. Excellent service and the sushi was amazing! Especially the fried sushi with smoked salmon. Also got the shrimp tempura and sweet potato rolls. Wish had more room to finish it all. Pretty small place, so was lucky enough that it wasn't so busy. Highly recommend!“
“Had dinner at Tomo for the first time tonight and it was wonderful. The restaurant itself is cozy and warm. The food was outstanding and the service is top tier. I will recommend them to everyone I know looking for good appetizers, ramen, and sushi. My partner and I are vegan and there are absolutely enough vegan things on the menu.“
“Found this place by accident when another restaurant nearby was closed and we were very hungry. I was surprised at how good the food was because the prices were very reasonable. This is definitely not just any other Japanese restaurant. The appetizers we had were so delicious, and my sushi rolls were better than the ones I have at other places nearby. The service was great and they were very attentive. On top of that, it was very cute inside and the atmosphere was perfect. I can’t wait to return!“
“This is a good place to eat sushi and ramen. Personally, I ordered the miso soup ramen and I loved it: both the decoration of the dish, as well as the quantity and flavor, were in harmony; For starters we ordered gyozas, which were delicious. My companion ordered a shrimp tempura roll which, on the other hand, although it had a delicious flavor, the quantity was small in relation to the price. The atmosphere is cozy. The staff treated us very kindly, which made us enjoy the experience even more.“
“Best sushi around jersey not gonna lie. They are so nice and always inviting! Their food tastes so fresh and I’m always impressed, they never forget things and are EXTREMELY FAST with their orders. I even order custom rolls from them which in itself is incredible because I’m terrified of ordering things from most places like that. My favorite item is the shrimp tempura roll but I put cream cheese on it too. Also they never under sauce!!!“
“It was my birthday and I was craving sushi. I looked around at a few places and I decided to try this place. I looked at the menu before going and they had a lot of great choices. The staff was amazing. They were very nice and helpful. We had no wait for a table either. The food was very delicious, definitely worth coming here to try. I was very amazed that it came out on a boat like that too. I loved it. These were the rolls we ordered. Eagle Roll, Lobster Roll, Tiger Roll, Dancing Shrimp Roll, and King Dragon Roll.“
“Amazing is the only way to describe it!! Hands down best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to! We ordered edamame, Beef Negi Maki , 6 sushi rolls, chicken fried rice and the butterfly shrimp, everything tasted so fresh and perfectly seasoned it was a holiday for my tastebuds. The service was incredible; my family and I cannot wait to go back!“
“Very good sushi spot. Went with my wife on a date night and had a great time. The waitress was patient and answered all our questions when we tried to get away from the basic Cali roll. I tried raw sushi for the first time and it wasn't bad. We did try some of the Cali rolls and they were great and well balanced. Usually you get a bunch of cucumber and a little crab, but not here. Everything was delicious and the staff was great. Check them out.“
“Came here with my mom from a recommendation her friend gave. We really enjoyed the sushi! The prices were very affordable, we paid less than $40 for two entrees and two soups. However the cleanliness was a little suspect for me. You can see the area where the chefs prepare the sushi, and it reminded me of a Waffle House.“
“Fantastic sushi, great prices, quick delivery. The order is always correct, packed well, and the food is delicious. And if you're in the mood for a seafood boil, this is the place to go! Get the garlic butter sauce - spicy! Soooooo good.“
“Amazing Japanese food - fish was as fresh as could be, creative dishes, beautiful presentation, welcoming staff, top-tier experience. Chef/owner Matthew is extremely nice, knowledgeable of his craft and accommodating; he's willing to curate unique dishes for his guests, treated us like family.“
“Only ate here twice and it was exceptional for the price. Honestly I thought the good reviews had to be fake bc there were so many and so highly rated. But it’s legit. It appears to be closed though permanently since it’s been down for over a month now.Hopefully the owners see this and will tell me they’re re-opening soon??“
“Just two focused homies making the best quick sushi, sashimi, nori etc. it’s a counter with maybe 8 seats and it feels so informal but right to the point. I got the valentines roll and the fresh red tuna was so buttery soft. I loved it. Also don’t skip the sashimi platter!! Great place for any quick satisfying meal. Lots of people come through for takeout so it’s incredibly busy but they are efficient. Order at least 30 mins ahead so you’re not waiting too long - They are very busy on Friday nights.“
“First time ordering from this place, and they serve high quality sushi and food at affordable prices! I've had the salmon rolls as of today, and they are healthy and delicious! The tempura vegetables were quite delectable, and the miso soup was excellent! Friendly service and excellent food!“
“Weekend happy hour yes please! Great sushi spot in Center City. The happy hour menu has most of your classic sushi roll and appetizer choices. The veggie gyoza was delicious. We also ordered the meet me in the summer roll which was refreshingly good. The mango added a nice sweetness that I wasn't sure if I would like, but it was good.“
“Location a bit sketchy and there is not many seats inside but the sushi is good quality for its price point. The salmon roll is $10 at time of writing, slightly more expensive than nearby alternatives but seems to be expertly prepared. The braised pork belly buns are delicious and come with thick slabs of pork meat. The fried rice rolls appetizers are also quick good and does their job to stimulate the appetite. The cha shu ramen itself is slightly spicy and includes a sliced slab of corn which is an interesting choice, at first glance, it seems a bit like instant ramen but upon tasing the noodles are certainly higher quality than that of instant ramen. The eggs are hard boiled and reminiscent of soy sauced braised salty tea eggs, the broth is flavorful but nothing too special and the same can be said for the cha shu pork pieces. Overall 4/5. The ramen passable but the sushi is the main highlight of this place.“
“Another awesome lunch at Zama. We sat at the bar where Peter the bartender made our experience so special. He is friendly and engaging. Plus he had great drinks and menu suggestions. Our go to place every time we head to Phila.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian rainbow roll is fabulous.“
“So grateful to have a local sushi spot that i LOVE! I have converted several people to sushi lovers with this spot alone so that tells you how good it is! I love the 3 roll lunch specials, but oh how i wish they also allowed it on sundays :( some of us work monday-saturday, but alas still excellent sushi!“
“One of my favorite places around! You can eat here at all price points. My favs are Clear Soup for cold days, and then for dinner portions: tataki, poke bowls, and sushi rolls are all fantastic to mix and match. Poke bowls are the best bang for buck. GO HERE IF YOU LIVE CLOSE!“
“This place has become a home of mine of Friday nights. Kevin is an excellent, skilled sushi chef and keeps positive relationships with his customers. His staff, the elder and waitresses are always professional and courteous. They work incredibly hard to make the entire experience a memorable one. I hope they recover from this recent property loss and temporary closure.“
“I am so happy this place opened on 2nd street!! Everything my man and I ordered had such tasty and unique flavor. We ordered the drunken noodles (which I was so excited about and met my expectations), tofu fried rice, crab rangoon, and a few sushi rolls. My man usually says his food is fine, however, he said this place is BANGIN which amazed me. Atmosphere is gorgeous. Service is so sweet and kind although I do think our waitress could have been a bit more attentive to details like water refills, empty plates, etc…I didn’t even mind though because she was so sweet and amazing in every other way. I can’t wait to try more items on the menu and am glad nolibs finally has great sushi!!!!“
“The sushi was incredible! Our server was so sweet and knowledgeable and helped us decide between all the options. I definitely recommend this place if you’re a sushi fanatic.Parking: There’s plenty of parking during the weekday evenings but weekends are a pain.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space. No stairs.“
“Had our anniversary dinner here and it was spectacular. The cocktails were excellent and so was the sake. We started with sashimi from the seasonal menu and honestly that was my favorite part of the meal. The yellowtail app and the entrees were also excellent. Can’t wait to go back here! This place lives up to the expectations!“
“Our favorite sushi place- EVER. There aren’t enough good things to say about this place. Every single dish is always so fresh & just delish.Maggie, the server, host & everything in between is absolutely AMAZING. Such a sweetheart & gives the best recommendations.I could not recommend Tsuki more than we already do. A lowkey, MUST try if you’re in the Rittenhouse area.“
“I went here with a crew of 6 to celebrate a special day, and it was a really good experience! By no means am I a sushi expert, but I am not a newcomer either and to me it was pretty great experience, especially the tempura shrimp on the mango shrimp roll.. We ordered the Party Platter D which came with 64 pieces total comprised of Alaska roll, tuna avocado roll, california roll, spicy tuna roll, sweet potato roll, tiger roll, mango shrimp roll, and creamy crab roll. The mango in the mango shrimp roll was also a welcomed change of flavors. Lots of options. We ended up getting one of the family meals that really satisfied our group's stomachs and wallets. Generally it is a little expensive, but it's a local establishment that also doesn't have a liquor license to bring in easy revenue. On that note, this is a BYOB restaurant, which is pretty neat, allowing you to save even more on your overall price if you plan on drinking. I wonder if they would be willing to warm your sake for you? My only food recommendation (which I communicated to the open and friendly guy at the counter, is that the spicy tuna wasn't very spicy. Maybe now it will be spicier if they've had similar complaints since the time I went--probably 5 months ago at this point. Otherwise, my only other complaint is just that it's a small place--about 8 spots at the stylish wood sushi bar, and two picnic style tables that can seat 5 if you pull up a chair, so it might be a little tough to find a spot if you're going out with a crew.“
“Always a great go-to lunch or dinner spot. I love the salmon bento box, so many of my favorite things! I have probably ordered it 20 times and it’s seriously never let me down! Yummy!!!Dietary restrictions: They are able to accommodate my dislike for mushrooms that come in the vegetable side!“
“This is my go-to place for special occasions, like getting an A (or even a B+) in my Penn Law courses. CONGRATULATIONS to the owner for an incredible four years! I've been enjoying Kaseiki's sashimi bowls since the start of the pandemic and have always had wonderful experiences with them. The ingredients are always fresh and even the basic bowls, like their signature Anniversary Bowl, are very artistically done and taste great. I highly recommend the Second Anniversary Bowl, an upgrade that includes delicately prepared scallop, the sweetest shitake mushrooms you've ever had, and mouth-watering, delicious O-toro! The prices are high, but the quality is also high, so it's definitely worth it! Looking forward to enjoying a Chirashi bowl in person someday.“
“Visited Philly on vacation and so happy we came to eat here. The food was so fresh healthy and delicious. The place was very clean with fast service. Even so accommodating to my gluten allergy was able to order almost annything even dessert! Highly recommend!Kid-friendliness: Gave my daughter coloring while we waited for her food and made sure it came out fast for her. With lots of kids options!“
“I had an incredible experience at Tokyo Sushi today! The freshness and taste of the food blew me away. The dumpling soup was exceptionally delicious, and I couldn't get enough of the flavorful spicy tuna roll – undoubtedly the best I've ever had. The avocado they use is remarkably fresh, making every bite a delight. What truly impressed me was the variety of unique drink options that perfectly complemented the meal. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients are truly commendable. Tokyo Sushi has won me over as a loyal customer with their outstanding menu and impeccable service. Can't wait to return for more amazing culinary experiences!“
“Exceptional cuisine! Awesome environment (built by my friend Ben Workerman!) and friendly/ informative service. We love the circle front door and warm interior. We went with the sake pairing which we enjoyed and went will with our omakase. Loved crunching down on the soft shell crab little bite. A bit pricey, but worth it! Will definitely return. I rank it a 3 out of 3 drink review (coke, beer, sake).“
“The sushi and the variety here is absolutely excellent. Great ambience for dining in and great service and when ordering for pick up your order will always be ready. It has the largest variety of sushi that I have seen and it is excellent quality I highly recommend this establishment.“
“I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant and the lovely people that run it. We have been ordering from Sakura since before Covid and have always enjoyed the food and the friendly people that work there. The rolls are fresh and there's a nice variety. Sorry, no pictures but we ate it all too fast ?Parking: The lot always has spaces and the pick up is so convenient due to the drive through window as it was an old Taco Bell.Kid-friendliness: My kids are always greeted and made to feel welcome. They have been given extra treats by the staff and absolutely love going to Sakura to "see our friends."“
“Their lunch special is a great value and the rolls were good without the deal too. the tuna in the tuna roll was fresh, flavorful, and plentiful.the atmosphere felt really casual so it might not be great for a nice date, but any other sushi need would be well met “
“Worthy of the hype! We came without a reservation for happy hour, and they were able to squeeze us in, but looks like a reservation is a good idea. The happy hour sake was good, and the U-Maki were fun and delicious. Looking forward to coming back with a reservation for the omakase!“
“Our hostess was a little rude when we first arrived however our party ultimately had a wonderful time.We dined at this location following our EID festivities. Our Chef Frank was very entertaining. We had a large party most were children. They really enjoyed watching him cook. He had a great personality as well. The food, delicious! I had the steak and shrimp hibachi. The steak was cooked to perfection, the shrimp was tasty & seasoned well.“
