“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

“Best vegan pizza in NYC. I could have sworn I reviewed Double Zero before and now I’m wondering if the review disappeared because it was for their old location. They moved (on the same block I think?) into a place that looks a little tighter inside but had an outdoor seating.
Came with a party of 3 and sat inside for a quiet Saturday night dinner—interior seating was maybe half full and exterior seating was packed.
Warning interior didn’t have AC running.
Got two pizzas and jackfruit tacos
Jackfruit tacos: Good but lacked a sauce or spice that left it getting drowned out by the much more flavorful pizzas
Truffle cashew cream pizza: Excellent. Third time getting it and every time it’s been a hit. Flavorful spread of mushrooms on cashew cheese
Spicy Pepperoni Pizza: Pepperonis themselves quite good on a tomato, basil, cheese base. Note the pepperonis have coconut in them in case you’re allergic.
Also got two cocktails and a mocktail, but nothing to report there. My Moscow mule was largely ice.
Unfortunately, the owner is apparently a terrible person according to the April 22, 2024 NYTimes article, but the food is good especially for vegans.“

“By far our favorite restaurant we visit in the city. Have been here over 500x and the tagliatelle with sheep’s cheese cabbage and shrimp will never get old ! Carmine runs a beautiful establishment on the UWS“

“The food here is amazing, and the staff are great. I can’t recommend it enough. Unfortunately, the Facebook rating system for restaurants is focused mostly on the wrong things, likely due to poor algorithm design. Curbside pickups? Daily specials? Takeaway menu? Grow up, Facebook.“

“We were celebrating a birthday with a group of six and the food was absolutely delicious! My personal favorites were the Soy Butter Bigoli, Mochi Bombolocini, Scallop, Rigatoni, and the Apple Pie. Most of the food was amazing. The service was fantastic – everyone was so attentive, helpful, and friendly. The atmosphere is super relaxed. I really loved the Umami in the Kenmare cocktail.“

“Loved this small 100 year old Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village. The food was delish, but even better than the food was the atmosphere and the staff. Our waiter was Tony. Not only was he funny, he knew his pasta! We felt like old friends by the time we left! The bartender was not only beautiful to look at, he too treated us like old friends! He meet us at the door on our way out and gifted me with a juicy birthday kiss! Totally made my night!“

“The food is incredible and the service is always on point. The beet hummus was the table's favorite. The watermelon salad was delightful. The drinks are pricey, but they have delicious mocktails and even an alcohol removed sparkling wine.“

“We stumbled upon this restaurant after not finding any open seats in the area and so glad we did. Despite them closing in 30 minutes they did not hesitate to seat our party of 6. The manager was amazing and seriously a gem between advising the perfect meal choices and wine pairings, she also poured the drinks, cut the pasta and still took time to give us the best recommendations for a visit to Milan. This was probably one of the best pastas I have ever had! Thank you!!!! What a gem find!!“

“Five stars. Da Toscano is an absolute gem in the heart of Greenwich Village, a true destination for anyone who loves Italian food. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and sophisticated without being stuffy. The service is impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just another diner.
But the real star of the show is, of course, the food. Every dish is a masterpiece of flavor and technique. The pastas are a must-try; the lamb neck agnolotti is a revelation, and the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe pesto is the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes in appreciation. The creativity on the menu is matched only by the flawless execution. Even the simple things, like their focaccia, are elevated to an art form.
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an extraordinary meal, Da Toscano delivers on every front. It's a place where you can taste the passion and skill that goes into every plate. I've dined here multiple times, and each visit has been consistently exceptional. It is, without a doubt, one of the best Italian restaurants in New York City and a guaranteed five-star experience.“

“Sat at Chefs counter. Started with steak tartar special which was amazing. Next a Spring pasta with envelopes of melted ricotta cheese. My favorite was the rabbit with rigatoni. Unbelievable. A couple glasses of the Barolo by the glass, along with the ice cream sandwich and we were in heaven!“

“Good food, but nothing worth waiting hours for in the rain, like many people were. Broccoli rabe and tonarelli cacio e pepe were great. We were seated at the window, and a homeless guy came right up and started staring at us, but the server was very nice and got him to leave.“

“It’s a restaurant that’s reminds me of my childhood and my early Twenties that was my go to Italian restaurant. I loved everything about this place and enjoyed the great food. I took my wife to celebrate our birthday together and talked about how amazing it was growing up in this neighborhood.“

“We happened to be walking by on a Friday night and my husband pointed it out. Our pasta was fresh and delicious and served so quickly. The staff was beyond attentive and professional. “I am so bored of red sauce Italian-American food! I longed for a restaurant with interesting, delicious pasta dishes and found San Carlo. We had a salad and three different pastas, and each dish was thoughtful and balanced. Went back twice in one week for the spaghettone with anchovies. We even have a new favorite truffle pasta in the city! I no longer live here, but will make it a point to return every time I visit family. We loved it, food and service was impeccable.“

“The service and the food were absolutely amazing. I ordered the ricotta toast and the melon salad. Both were exquisite full of flavor. Then we ordered two pasta dishes that were magnificent. We were fortunate enough to be seated in front of the chefs. The head Chef was so kind and making jokes all night which made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. Thank you! We will certainly be back.“

“The food was phenomenal and service on point. My husband had a Bronx Tail and all seafood was seasoned perfectly and the fettuccine fresh. The maitre'd descaled the lobster and cut it for him at the table. I had the tender, veal marsala which was paired with the best whipped potato I have ever eaten. Paired with a Montipuluciano, it was a good accompaniment. The Italian cheesecake was very good, and cannoli very small. They need a little more light as we had to use our phone flashlights to read the bill and menu. 4.9/5“

“It was our first trip to SORSO, and it did not disappoint. Great little wine bar in a great neighborhood near NYU. The menu is limited, but perfect for a bottle of wine and some lite fare. Our waiter was great and recommended a fabulous white wine from his hometown region near the Dolomites! Great evening.“

“Food was delicious and location is great, but my waiter service received was mediocre. The waiter was distracted when we were ordering and he got rude when we asked a few questions due to a dietary restriction. The other staff was pleasant.“

“After having dinner at Fasano yesterday, I found myself wondering why it didn’t feel like a “wow” experience. I think it’s because the very upscale, almost uptight atmosphere didn’t quite match the quality of the food which was good, but not exceptional. The heavy curtains didn’t help the ambiance, and at one point I noticed the music was off, which made things feel even more dreary“

“Wonderful Italian restaurant near the water in Long Island City. Definitely recommend setting a reservation as this place does fill up. The restaurant staff show great professionalism They were warm, attentive, and welcoming, providing prompt service. The cocktails were strong but both tasty and refreshing. From the pizza to the tartare to the pasta, everything was freshly prepared and full of flavor. It’s literally nothing like authentic, freshly prepared pasta and they nailed it. Definitely high on my list of top Italian spots I have experienced.“

“Absolutely loved Forsythia for a date night!
Gorgeously designed menu.
Great service - attentive, knowledgeable and kind. The focaccia is delicious - recommend the honey butter, olive oil & ricotta to accompany. We split the beet salad and arancini - only call out was the prosciutto on the beet salad was “fried / crispy” vs fresh. For pastas we ordered the lasagna which is a MUST order - perfectly crisp, and the agnolotti short rib pasta. I did not love the agnolotti - would try a different pasta next time. For dessert we had the stracciatella gelato - so yummy and perfect palate cleanser. Must order.
The vibe of the restaurant was so cute - brick walls, intimate, warm, inviting. Even the candle in the bathroom smelled like a wood cabin campfire - invoking a comforting, home-like atmosphere.“
