“Every dish was incredible. Just what we were looking for. My husband had the oysters and the scallops, I had the ceviche and sea bass. All fantastic. Impeccable service. Fun to eat at the open kitchen counter and watch the cools do their thing. I'd visit again.“

“The food was GOOD. The wait was crazy. I flew in from out of state. We had reservations at 8pm we were not seated until 9:15 pmThey did comp our Apps while we waited. But I felt the wait was not warranted.... Just unorganized. Also allowing people who missed their reservations by 30 min to be seated while people who were on time had to wait.Servers were great. Just an Honest review.“

“Very small intimate space with the open kitchen directly on the floor. Had an incredible experience here! The staff was super friendly and bantered with us all night. The stand out to me was the scallop toast, it practically melts in your mouth. Though everything we had was excellent flavor and presentation wise. I will absolutely be back!“

“Great, great food as always! NOW the service portion...I accidently left my wallet after the meal. The hostess took it upon herself to look at my license, grab my name, and go through prior reservations to get my cell number. She phoned me to tell me on a Saturday night to let me know I had left my wallet. Circumventing NOT having my wallet and the Oyster House closed till Tuesday.Without the call and the extra step to look up my previous information. I would not have known when or where I left or lost my wallet!Thank you to the staff for great service and caring about your customers!Signed,Customer for life.“

“The food was outstanding. The atmosphere was awesome. I really appreciated your wine selection, although, we ordered a bottle and the vintage didn't match what was on your wine list. That being said, it wasn't a huge issue and we found a bottle we liked regardless. Service was kind of cold at first, and then our waitress got cut and the one who took over was amazing. Much love to her!!“

“We had dinner at Estia before the Sting with the Philadelphia Orchestra concert. We started with the Estia chips - fried eggplant & cucumbers which were delicious. My Fiancée had the salmon with the spinach rice, done to perfection. I had the sea bass which was marvelous - moist & tender - served with a tomato based vegetable medley. We topped it off with with the caramel baklava & a scoop of vanilla ice cream - a wonderful treat to cap off the perfect dinner. The only downside was that we had a cramped table. I'm 6'4” and always appreciate some extra leg room. I later found out that we could have requested a specific table with more room when I made the reservation.“

“Honestly great services and the food was beyond my expectations! Great food and service. I appreciate that they didn’t make us feel uncomfortable arriving one hour before closing. Truth is parking was brutal but the food was definitely worth it!“

“Finally got to try out Friday Saturday Sunday and overall had a good time, but wasn't blown away. Service was solid throughout and the drinks we tried were all tasty. My issue is that, when compared with other similar multi course options in Philly at the same price range, I wasn't impressed with the food. Everything was prepared perfectly fine, but overall dishes were either on the blander side (such as the fish and desserts) or odd (such as the sweetbread). The tortellini was fantastic though and a standout.Would I come back? Sure, if friends wanted to go. But there are other prix fixe restaurants I prefer in Philly at the moment.“

“This is probably the most popular restaurant in the area, as evidenced by the crowds inside and couldn't get a reservation online but we called and they did their best to accommodate us so we were able to get a table for 2, 8:30 pm. The service is 10 stars, best service I ever had & the food was fresh and delicious. Can't wait to be back !“

“What a wonderful experience we had here. We had a reservation at 8:30pm, luckily for us we were the only ones eating at that time for the omakase. The chef was able to make all the sushi and serve us quickly, which was nice. All the fish was fresh and tasted delicious ?. Kimchi Omakase is truly a gem for the price. I will be back, I recommend you give them a try.“

“We've been here several times since it opened, and have experienced good service and food each time. Several of the dishes have been on the menu each time, but some have been tweaked with different ingredients, making them a little different (even though the original was already worth trying again). The "Brown Butter" dessert, the name of which sounded rather unappetizing on our first visit, turned out to be one of the highlights. Definitely try it. Prices are also reasonable, for a more upscale establishment.Kid-friendliness: It's a quiet, intimate environment. Go for a date night and leave the kids with a sitter.“

“Very good restaurant but it feels like they're still working out the kinks. Service was friendly but a little haphazard. Food was delicious but a little pricey and not the best presentation. Not quite up there with the best but still highly recommended.“

“My dear lovely souls James “Jim” is the absolute BEST man ever!!!! I saw him help the staff, help get table cleared to move things along. He was so kind and knows my daughter eats her oysters but she was busy talking and on ordered entree. Well, he made sure that it happened. It was just the special things he and other do to make it a family affair at capital. People like him, Beth (bar tender), Dan (bar tender), Anthony (sever) and Maria (sever) that make my world go round, make our family feel welcomed and always so accommodating! God bless you and love you!“

“I am surprised this place has only got about 350 reviews at time of writing. This place was very good for hotpot options. When you arrive, you get asked if you want the normal or premium option (you get to pick 2 premium options as a once off per person). We just went for the normal one and it was great! You order the hotpot meats via iPad (and even had option for Sashimi which was unexpected, but very nice!). Everything else you go up and get yourself, which I prefer as you can control how much you get. They also had a small selection of cold "salad" items such as chicken feet, cold sliced beef, wood ear and chilli. These options were delicious.Re drinks: The price includes all you can drink. They have a fridge with bottled drinks that you would expect to find in a Chinese supermarket, and you basically help yourself to as much as you want. There is also a small selection of deserts - I am always too full to eat these so cannot comment on it!Would love to go back here again in future.“

“We went out to dinner with another couple and it was such a fun experience. It is a steak house so you should get steak at this place. Also, well mad and delicious cocktails. The atmosphere feels like you are in a chalet in the Alps. It was truly a fun evening and we will be going back. You do need to reserve several weeks ahead.“

“Food was excellent at Cherry Hill, NJ location. Smaller portion sizes than you'd expect. But, filling and delicious. Price on the higher side but doable for upper or most upper middle-income bracket folks. Atmosphere is a little loud and the tables are setup in the middle with booths around the perimeter of the restaurant. Would've preferred a booth over a table. Overall would recommend and will likely go back.“

“We had George as a waiter. Fantastic service. The food was incredible. My wife had an excellent octopus. I had the wild boar. “We were seated immediately upon arrival for our reservation. Water arrived within seconds and our server arrived shortly after the water. We made our drink selections and then were able to savor the wines for a few minutes. Our served arrived a few minutes after the wine was served and asked if we were ready to place our food order. My decided to split a Caesar salad, my wife ordered the jumbo sea scallops and I ordered the black grouper and crab “cigar”. The salad was a perfect starter for us and the entrees were superb. We finished our dining with the “avocado ice cream” desert that was a wonderful delight to finish with. Courtney, our server, took very good care of us without “hovering”. We look forward to returning!“

“Eddie V's is nice, but not exceptional. The restaurant is beautiful. The live music created a wonderful dining atmosphere. The service is quick and professional. Unfortunately, the food is average. My salmon was dry, and the veggies were very hard. The Chilean sea bass was much better, but a small portion. You're paying more for the ambiance than the food, and it's pricey.“

“This place is just recently opened and received pretty good reviews, so I decided to try it out.everything we ordered was tasty with a generous portions, but the flavor was just too sweet for me and my boyfriend. I know Thai food is sweet, but this is another level of sweet. And the coconut noodle soup, it has no flavor and tasted so coconuty. It would have been better if they use rice noodle or glass noodle instead of vermicelli noodle. The ambience is plain, but it looks new and clean. The color of the building looks unattractive in my opinion.Service is good, but it takes awhile for the food to come out. They seem to be more busy with takeout orders.Overall, a decent Thai food with good portion and reasonable price. Tip: pay in CASH, you’ll get 5% off and they also accept Venmo.“
“Very small neighborhood restaurant, if you want most authentic you know these places are the best. Service was great, speaks both English and Khmer. It was so cold yesterday so a nice hot bowl of Cambodian noodle soup was perfect! And of course when you can't say no to the soup but also want the dry version, do both, yum!!“

“I would say this place is probably the best Indonesian food you can find in South Philly. The most authentic food and so many dishes to choose from. Everything is fantastic and delicious! My go to Indonesian restaurant before Sky Cafe. I feel like their food has more flavors. However, portions are kinda small for me. Although I like their cucumber pickles, spicy chili peppers and sambal chili paste. They go very well with the dishes.Very friendly staffs and small cozy family owned restaurant. Parking is tough here if you want to dine in, I always do takeout.I highly recommend this place! 10/10“

“We celebrated Valentine’s Day the day after the actual holiday and couldn’t be more impressed. The staff all greeted us and it was evident how close they are as a family! Everything down the bread was homemade, and our favorite part of the meal was hands down the table side cacio e pepe. We loved it so much we both agreed one of us would order it as our entree the next time we go back. We both had the veal special over polenta with carrots, & we enjoyed their homemade ice box cake. Thank you to the staff for such a great night out!“

“Came here with my mom from a recommendation her friend gave. We really enjoyed the sushi! The prices were very affordable, we paid less than $40 for two entrees and two soups. However the cleanliness was a little suspect for me. You can see the area where the chefs prepare the sushi, and it reminded me of a Waffle House.“

“So it doesn't look like much from the outside. But as an 80's baby from SOUTH JERSEY, we used to have a seafood plane called Blue Claw. You'd get the most fresh seafood however you wanted it and they had their own unique flavor. Well my peoples over here have brought back that nostalgia. That custom laurel seafood butter is to die for and the variety is amazing. They're super friendly and welcoming and they always somehow bless me with more than what I pay for (but that's OUR secret). If you love seafood and you crave it like my family, look no further than here.“

“It's one of the better restaurants to visit without having to go to Philly. Service is great. Some dishes like raw oysters or short rib pasta were great. An eggplant appetizer was so so. Ceasar salad was so so. There was a miniscule amount of parmesan in the salad. The dressing was O.k. The The bread that is served along with the dishes is O.k. the key lime pie was very good. Coffee was O.k.Parking: There is valet parking in the front, and self parking on the side and back. Finding the entrance to the parking lot is a bit tricky.“

“Nestled in the vibrant streets of Philadelphia, Charlie Was A Sinner. is a haven for those seeking a culinary experience that transcends expectations. With its inviting ambiance and innovative plant-based cuisine, this restaurant captivates the senses and leaves a lasting impression.Let's dive into the star of the show: the food. Each dish at Charlie Was A Sinner. is a work of art, meticulously crafted to delight even the most discerning palate. From the first bite to the last, every flavor sings in perfect harmony, showcasing the creativity and skill of the culinary team. However, I must address a notable aspect of our dining experience—the service. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, there were some shortcomings that impacted the overall enjoyment of our meal. In particular, our server seemed lacking in knowledge of the menu, unable to provide accurate information about certain dishes' ingredients. This became especially problematic when attempting to accommodate dietary restrictions at our table. Rather than consulting the chef or kitchen staff for clarification, our server seemed uncertain and unable to provide the necessary assistance.Despite this hiccup, I must commend the kitchen for their flexibility and willingness to accommodate our dietary needs once the issue was brought to their attention. Their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience did not go unnoticed and ultimately salvaged what could have been a disappointing situation. In conclusion, while Charlie Was A Sinner. excels in its culinary offerings, there is room for improvement in the realm of service, particularly in staff knowledge and communication. Nonetheless, I remain impressed by the restaurant's commitment to delivering exceptional plant-based cuisine and look forward to returning for another memorable dining experience.“

“I've been meaning to come here since they opened this location, probably close to 6 months now. I finally stopped in right before close and grabbed a 1/2 pint of Shrimp salad and a Mega Crab Cake.I was hoping for a hot crab cake sandwich there, but it's more a Market than a restaurant. No points deducted there though. The shrimp salad was very good. Not 100% perfectly cooked, but not overcooked either. But where it shines is it's really just big - and I mean BIG - pieces of shrimp, light mayo, small cuts of celery for crunch and spices. No filler at all. $10 for a half pint of that stuff by itself is a killer deal. Get a $.65 roll from Del Buonos and slap this shrimp salad on it with maybe a little hot sauce and that's a meal my friend. The crabcake was $13 and change but was a very good size. Mostly crab meat, very thin breadcrumb on the outside only, not much binder or filler. Was very tasty and you definitely know it's a big ol' crabcake.Overall, I'll be back for sure!“
