The French toast was well prepared with high quality ingredients. It had a caramelized banana and powdered sugar. All good BUT why serve a portion of fake corn syrup maple product? A restaurant of this caliber in this neighborhood should have real maple syrup. The dish was sweet enough that it didn't really need it, but I always enjoy real maple syrup. It just degrades the entire dish by putting some disgusting artificial product on the plate.The less major complaint was that the bread for the salmon avocado toast was too thick making it unwieldy to eat.The employees seemed a bit grumpy. None of them were rude or mean, however, and they were all competent. Today is the spring ahead daylight savings time of the clocks. Perhaps they were disjointed from that?“
“This bakery has been in this town for as long as I remember. The only thing I ever get here is their cheese danish and coffee. Not that I don't like anything else, it's that I'm freaking crazy about cheese danish. Anytime I go into a bakery I look for them before anything else. If they have them then it's what I'm getting, and Miller's always has them. They make a big one for 9.95 that lasts me at least a couple of days. They also make a large cappuccino with an extra shot that is really good. Most places won't make you a large cappuccino so for that I choose Miller's when I want a big cup of coffee. The servers are always pleasant and professional and they have ample seating if you want to sit and enjoy your coffee. The spot is quiet so if you're looking for a nice quiet spot then this is the place for you.“

But overall the avocado and the eggs were good enough for a 4⭐, and I think the two things that helped to push it over the edge to 5⭐ were the bread and the pickled peppers. In particular the pickled peppers added a little bit of sweetness and a little kick. Pleasant surprise.Matcha latte was reasonable and not remarkable -- lacking in latte art but slightly making up for it in portion. Also, could have been sifted/whisked some more because there were lumpy chunks at the bottom. Seriously I’ve had a lot of burgers in my life and burgers happen to be my favorite food but this all American cheeseburger from @cake_burgers has to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I mean from the top to the bottom the soft, perfectly toasted brioche bun, to the perfectly crisp and fresh lettuce and tomatoes and melty cheese, and their special burger sauce?! Whenever a restaurant has a special sauce I have to try it because I have high expectations and this one exceeded it. The grilled onions made it even better! The meat was perfectly cooked and so juicy. It was like my dream burger had finally come to fruition. I am also a big sweet potato fries lover and they make the PERFECT sweet potato fries, everything is balanced so nicely from seasoning to texture. “I was back in my hometown for a short trip and wanted to work remote from a cafe. I did a quick Yelp search and stumbled across Marimba Cafe - the new name caught my eye and the aesthetics and offerings here solidified my decision. I don't think I've ever come across a sit down Latin cafe here in Bergen County so to me, since moving away, it's the first of its kind. Also first of its kind to proudly offer CBD infused menu items. I believe they just opened in November! The vibes in here are immaculate. My favorite feature is the stone floor - it just transports you somewhere new! The color scheme in here is also appealing, and the Latin music made me want to dance while I took on meetings haha. Overall, really solid branding and concept. Since I was working west coast hours, I spent the whole afternoon into close here. It's a really great place to work as there were other people working remote. They have comfortable seating and outlets conveniently located along the booth. I will say though that the booth seating was just a tad too high for the table so it took some time getting used to. Also, they do play the music fairly loud (a must) in here so it can be a tad distracting if you're taking meetings and have to speak. Since I stayed here for over 5 hours, I was able to observe the sense of community Marimba has fostered - they greet customers like friends! I also saw on their Instagram that they host community events like paint nights and dance nights and support other local businesses with their La Placita Sundays. I love everything this business is about. I ordered the coquito latte hot and a pan de bono. The latte was solid and I wish the pan de bono was just a bit bigger! I would love to try more here. Congrats to the owners of Marimba, I wish the cafe tons of business and success! I definitely want to visit again when I'm back in town.“
