“I usually visit Dave’s Hot Chicken at 7th Ave Brooklyn.
This time we went so late that it was just 40 minutes left in closing and they had put all the tables and chairs away (means the dine in was closed already) but the girl at the counter was so nice that she not only allowed us to take the chairs and sit but also suggested us to rate them on app to get a free drink (everyone loves free stuff..right??)
The food and atmosphere is always always so good. We love to go there at least twice a month (as far from our place). Highly recommended especially if you are looking for some good halal food.“

“I’m visiting NJ (lived here for a long time) and wanted to eat some of my favorite foods. I ordered dinner from port of peri peri and it was perfectly cooked but missing my fries. I let that be known to the restaurant and received a small refund. Next night, I ordered dinner again and I received a large order of fries on the house as well as a discount card for 5% for dine in orders valid for one more week. Amazing customer service. “The spicy chicken biscuit omg toooooo die for so my husband and I saw many people entering this spot plus it was our first time. We heard mac and cheese, greens, and fried chicken. So we got a bucket of mixed chicken, two sides of Mac and cheese, and some collard greens (they make them with black eyed peas and tomatoes; totally different from any kind of greens I ever had and I definitely was left craving more. “So I was looking forward to try real korean fried chicken in a while , my previous experiences weren’t great ( and then I came across this little hidden gem in the middle of nowhere!
The place itself is nothing fine dining or fancy , simple , clean and to the point but the fried chicken was yum ! The owner was very nice and we ordered dubboki and a whole fried chicken with a choice of sauces , I definitely would recommend it and come back !
One tiny thing , please next time serve the starter before the chicken because dubboki was a tiny bit colder than I hoped“

“Got the chicken lunch box which costed $10 (came out to $10.88 after tax). It came with rice on the side along with salad. Salad was a bit too vinegary and the chicken tasted too sweet. Didn’t really like how the chicken tasted and the color looks very light. Not sure how to describe it but the chicken tasted “dirty”as if it wasn’t washed well. Would’ve been better if it was fried chicken.“

Initially, I was thinking about going to a certain Filipino fried chicken chain, but after checking the ratings, Pollo Camino came out on top. They’ve recently opened a new branch near Penn Station, but I ended up visiting their 8th Ave location instead — a small, single-storefront shop with a simple interior.

I ordered the fried chicken set for $9.99, which came with two pieces of chicken, a piece of bread, one side, and a drink for an extra $1.
• Drink: I went with their Horchata, made with peanuts and vanilla ,milk, without the cinnamon and rice I’m used to. It had a nice aroma, refreshing, and a bit different — in a good way.
• Side: I chose yuca fries, served in large sticks. The inside was dense than potato, with a lightly crisp exterior. Personally, I wasn’t a fan — I’d say skip this and go for another side.
• Fried Chicken: Lightly battered with a noticeable blend of spices and herbs. The meat was tender, while the skin wasn’t the super-crispy kind you’d get from those well-known Louisiana or Kentucky-style chains. Flavor was solid, but here’s an important tip — just like with many fried chicken places, don’t let it sit too long. Once it cools, the saltiness becomes much more pronounced.

Service gets a full 5 stars in the fast-food category — no self-service pick-up here, they bring your food right to the table.

Overall, Pollo Camino is worth trying if you’re around Penn Station. The price is fair, the chicken is flavorful, but choose your side wisely and eat it while it’s hot. Next time I’ll try a competitor for comparison, but for now, my top spot still belongs to Louisiana chain.“

The tenders themselves were hot and moist, made with prime cuts of chicken breast. I would have appreciated a bit more seasoning in the batter, but I can see how that might be intentional to let the sauces shine and appeal to different palates. I didn’t love the truffle mac and cheese — I personally prefer a sharper cheddar and egg-based style — but the portion sizes overall were satisfying. The staff was very friendly and polite, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting for a casual bite. Ordering at the kiosk was convenient, though I do wish there was a bathroom on-site. Not fully convinced about the value for price given a couple of these factors, but I’d still return, especially for that broccolini.“

“This place is just as advertised. Quick and simple food done very well, for a great price. I got the 1/2 chicken combo with Greek lemon potatoes. Everything was solid, the chicken was nicely cooked and juicy with a classic rotisserie flavor. The lemon flavor came though nicely on the potatoes. You also get a green sauce that comes with the meal that adds a nice acidic herbal flavor. Also, I got the grilled buffalo wings which I really enjoyed. Many places do not offer grilled, so I really appreciated this. I find especially for takeout, fried wings lose the textural component and become soggy. The grilled adds an extra depth of flavor that I personally enjoy. Overall great value.“

Their chicken sandwich is hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. “I think I can honestly say, without hyperbole, that this was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life. The only way I can describe the chicken sandwich is it was immaculate. The sandwich itself wasn't anything new or fancy or unique it was just the perfect example of something simple done perfectly. Good chicken with Juicy and tender the breading was crispy and well seasoned and so were the fries. 10/10 would highly recommend I'd eat this everyday if I could.“
