“It's an old, local eatery. The service was great. We enjoyed the food. You're going to get honest, simple, unpretentious fare. Don't expect a Michelin star or silver service. This is the place locals go for an easy meal.Parking: There is free parking at the restaurant. There may be additional street parking nearby.“

“Very nice place! Good food, good quantity for the price and lots to look at! There was a line but it moves fast. So fast I didn't get to read everything before it was our turn. Parking lot and street parking ok but had to look for a few minutes. Will go again.“

“I've been eating at padillas for decades and we'll have to say that the food has been very consistent over that time and it's always delicious. If you're not a fan of onions then my suggestion is your tell your waiter or waitress to hold the onions because they're very liberal and the amount of onion they put on your food, I don't like onion. The tamales are very good probably the best in Albuquerque and the blue corn chicken enchiladas are also just very delicious.“

“Stopped in today with one of my suppliers. He frequents the restaurant though it was my first time. Menu had a lot of gems on it but when I saw the Monte Cristo I was done debating on what to eat. Food came out pretty quickly, and the service was fair. It was after the rush so I expected a bit better service since it wasn't busy. The food was pretty good. 3/5 on Monte Cristos I have eaten before. I think the big thing it lacked was the powdered sugar on the toast and real jam. It hand some weird fruit flavored syrup. Certainly worth the try but short from a traditional. With try something different next time I am in.“

“HUGE breakfast burritos! Great options for them and very tasty. Jerky is also top tier. Highly recommended anything here. Staff you order with could be more friendly but the Owner/Manager is always there and always willing to go the extra mile for his customers. Super friendly and great with kids as well!“

“We were staying at The Clyde for a conference and some of our people found this little place, and boy we were thankful they did! The word spread fast through quite a few groups from our conference because they did not disappoint! For lunch yesterday, our group had Zak's Famous Club, Monte Cristo, Tosatadas Compuestas, and Pasolé which were all amazing. This morning we had Carne Adovada and Eggs, Good Morning Relleno, and another round of Pasolé for one because she loved it that much! They also have a $5 handheld breakfast burrito that you can grab on the go! The chips and salsa were also yummy! And to top it off, the staff were very nice! I can honestly say, we as a group, highly recommend stopping in. Thank you Baca Boys Cafe staff!“

“At a conference and looking for a steak dinner. I saw a photo online of High Noon’s food and decided to try it. The filet and veggie enchiladas that I saw online were of the highest quality, as was Chantel’s service. 5 star food and service without 5 star prices!“

“We hadn't been here in a while but were in the area killing time before another business opened. This was a Sunday morning around 11:15. It was fairly busy. Everything was excellent! We haven't been to a restaurant with service this good in a very long time. Our meals were very good and came quicker than expected. At almost every restaurant we frequent the service has greatly declined and we all seem to have become accustomed to that new normal. However on this day at this location it was exceptional. We will definitely make an effort to return again soon.“

“Stopped in for lunch while enjoying a day at the Biopark. Great selection of New Mexican eats with attentive staff in a smaller dining area. We didn’t receive one of the items we ordered, but the removed it without an issue as we were very full for the entrees and flan. The birria tacos were so crispy. Probably our best New Mexican food all week.“

“Great place for classic New Mexican food. We can't get enough smothered burritos, enchiladas, and red and green chili. All really well done by fast and friendly family. We also had a really good green chili cheeseburger, and the chili cheese hash browns are outstanding.Vegetarian options: Bean burritos, potato burritos, hash browns.“

The employees family owned are very nice, knowledgeable ,helpful, respectful and very busy at that.. you can call ahead order and pickup when you arrive the place is so busy all time and very prompt every time someone needs assistance. “What does a pharmacist turned restaurant owner who is literally a one man show do when his name is the restaurant? If you are Ben Michael, you are the host, waiter, bartender, chef, bus boy cashier and entertainer. Cash only. Entrees are $15-$33. The guy is literally amazing as his friend says, Renaissance man who whips up the Southwest dishes. But if you are lucky and not in a rush, he opens his piano for a little sing a long. If you come, be prepared to wait for the check, but you'll leave smiling.“

“Growing up in Albuquerque developed in me a true love for "Red or Green" culture. Living out of state now makes me crazy living without it, so, when I visit I want the real deal food of the "Burque!" Tia Betty Blues is my new favorite. My Navajo sculptor friend, Natiya, introduced me and now I'm hooked. You can see in the pictures the food, and they don't skimp. Look at the size of that Carne Adovada burrito compared to his hands. It's massive! I got a 4-egg omelette smothered in green chile with calabacitas (zucchini and corn), and my other friend had blue corn waffles with strawberries.Next time I'm in Albuquerque this will be the first place I go, and probably more than once. I highly recommend it, especially in warm weather, when you can sit outside. I think the owner also has the Waffleria (?).Parking: Parking lot is somewhat small so go at times of least business.“

“This is the 2nd time we have been there. The husband had the Mexican turnover with carne adovada basically a stuffed sopailla. I had the Chicharrione & bean burrito with green chili. The service is great and the food is amazing. I did not know they had won a James Beard Award. Basically the Oscars of food for American Classic.“

“We cannot say enough wonderful things about Monroe’s New Mexican Restaurant! We have eaten in both restaurants, ordered takeout, and had small gatherings catered many times over the years. Every experience has been positive. Recently, we hired them to cater our wedding reception for about 140-180 people at a private venue. We worked with Sarah to plan the menu, calculate quantities of food needed, and plan for the delivery and service at the event. She was very helpful, professional, and responsive to both email and phone messages. Monroe’s catering was fantastic! The staff was super friendly and professional. They set up quickly and quietly, served guests with a smile, packed up leftovers nicely, and cleaned up, leaving the area neat. The food was fantastic and tasty as usual for Monroe’s. The quality of the food and service was exceptional and the prices more than reasonable. We could not have asked for a better catering experience on our special day!“

“I went to Duran's for a late lunch recently and got an order to go. I ordered a enchilada a la cart with whole beans. It was ready in less than 5 minutes and was piping hot. Both the enchilada and beans were delicious and the serving size was generous. The staff were helpful & friendly as well.“

“Charritos is a Great New Mexican Restaurant! My son and his wife eat there almost every day and when I lived there for a year and a half, the three of us would eat breakfast/brunch there about every two days. I would drive and meet them there and I grew to love the Huevos Rancheros New Mexican style...I had never eaten that before then and I really like them! But now Im allergic to egg whites, so I can’t eat any. If I was to eat some, I would have terrible stomach pains , bloating of my stomach and projectile vomiting!! I’m allergic to corn also, peanuts and rice! All the foods I love! I was practically raised on rice, eating rice with every meal, but now I can’t eat rice without suffering the consequences!!!“

“This place was recommended to me by a local. It a small seemingly family run restaurant. The staff very friendly. It seems like a local hang out.The food is different but not bad. I think I was not use to the local flavors. I’d like to go back and try it again. The people there are really wonderful.“

“This new Stripes location is really well put together. The staff are all very friendly and my food has come out very fast both times I have been. I don’t think that Stripes has a great burrito compared to other choices in the city but it’s good and fairly priced. The eggs they use remind me of the ones in Taco Bell breakfast and the green chile is so-so. Overall, would recommend.“

“By far Garcia's was my favorite restaurant in the Old Town area. I had previously ordered Chile Rellenos at two other restaurants and both were disappointing. Garcia's made the third time a charm as these were spot on, my wife ordered the Pork Adovada which was also delicious!l We came in about 45 minutes before closing with a group of five and the service was excellent, even though we were the last customers in the restaurant. I highly recommend this place!“

“I've NEVER liked Wecks. But, the other day I decided to order a breakfast burrito to go. The reason for giving Wecks another chance is because all the other places I've had to chose from have sorely disappointed me over the last couple of years. All the old school amazing burritos are now disgusting! (Blakes, Taco Cabana, Twisters) NO MORE! Wecks breakfast burritos are back on my radar. Yay!“

“Bomb-diggity, the food is good here. El Patio has become one of my favorite go-tos in the 505. We had excellent service, mouth-watering good food (the Carne Adovada is absolutely the best and the chile? Fuhgeddaboudit--so hot and so, so good). Prices are what you'd expect to pay and it'z cozy inside--but very, very much worth the trip. We'll be back very soon.“

“Staying at the double tree, I ate here instead of going out, and it was pretty sweet. It was a top notch old fashioned, and the breaking bad salad. My server handled business, taking care of me and other people really well. I’m happy I stayed to eat and saved the time.“

“I was in a party of three at 11 am on a Saturday. The decorative atmosphere of this restaurant is fantastic. The service and food were excellent as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the bold flavors of the chips and salsa. They had a smoky flavor that was different from many restaurants in Albuquerque. I ordered the huevos rancheros with carne adovada. I do not believe I have seen this combination offered at another restaurant in town. The combination was excellent! Another in my party had the tamale plate, which he found very flavorful. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to eat here again soon.“

“Tried to go for dinner, but only carry outs after 4. Came back the next day for lunch. Ordered Chicken/cheese chile rellano. Made with hatch Chiles, this was spicier than my Dallas tastebuds were used to, but it was FABULOUS! A coworker ordered a carne avovado enchiladas and a beef enchilada with red sauce. He said the avovado was the best enchilada he ever had.“
“I think what makes this place so great are the people who work here. It's genuinely warm people and that really makes or breaks an experience for me. We are visiting NM and came here for brunch. The server recommended the Indian Taco with green Chile and it did not disappoint. I've never had one before but it hit the spot for a savory meal which is my jam. Casual vibes for sure and lots history on the walls. We enjoyed our time here and were all so stuffed but hopefully we can make it back one more time before we head back to California!“

“Hmm what...So I am excited to meet up with my daughter and her boy in ABQ for the day. I haven't seen her in a month or so and I have not met him yet. A Frind of mine gives me a recommendation of this place as an option for dinner. We spend a great day touring ABQ and then head over for dinner. We walk up to a small entrance with two different 80 year old couples walking in, in front of us and another 70 year old couple walking in behind us. The from entrance has four tables that look to be abandoned for awhile. My first thought is "this might not be for us.. what was my guy thinking.. im not that old..."We walk In to find a front counter with Cafe pastries behind glass and the smell of coffee in the air. Four more side tables off to the left through a small doorway. My second thought... "oh no.. this cant be right"The hottest asks us if we want to sit inside or outside. Not wanting to sit in the baren front entrance I say inside. Then the craziest thing happensWe are walked through the small left door way past the 4 side tables. Into a hallway with another 10 tables, half of which are full of people. Then past those tables into a huge room with 20 more tables... seriously spanish decor.. a mariachi band playing by tables... huge glass windows showing a beautiful decorated and landscaped outside seating area.. wow.. the boy and I were both like "what just happened..." did we go through a portal..The food is magnificent and the staff was super friendly, courteous and attentive. If you want to be amazed.. swing in you will be impressed. This place has wow factor and the taste of the food matches the ambiance . Perfect :)“

“We ate here on Sunday, and liked it so much that out of all of Albuquerque, we came RIGHT BACK to the same place! Esther waited on us Sunday, and she was so helpful and bright eyed, and best of all she appeared happy, and her entire attitude was pleasant as she hustled around to her tables! We also liked the scrumptious meal we each had. The shredded chicken enchiladas and fried potatoes were oh, so, yummy! Keep up the good work!Parking: Plenty of space, if you are careful.“

“Title: A Fiesta of Flavors at Stripes Burrito - Unforgettable Bacon and Top-Notch Chile! As a seasoned food enthusiast, I've encountered my fair share of culinary delights, but my recent visit to Stripes Burrito has set a new benchmark for what I consider exceptional. I'm compelled to share this gem of a find with fellow food lovers. Stripes Burrito is not just a restaurant; it's a flavor festival, a celebration of taste that leaves you wanting more. The Star of the Show: The BaconLet's start with their bacon - it's nothing short of a masterpiece. Imagine bacon cooked to such perfection that each bite is a harmonious blend of crispiness and tenderness, a texture so satisfying that it's almost musical. The bacon's smoky aroma wafts through the air, teasing your senses even before you take a bite. It's the kind of bacon that could easily steal the spotlight in any dish, yet it complements the other ingredients beautifully.Chile That Sets the Bar HighNow, let's talk about the chile. Calling it 'top-notch' might be an understatement. It's the heart and soul of their burritos, a pivotal ingredient that elevates every bite. The chile at Stripes Burrito is a brilliant concoction of flavors - spicy, but not overwhelmingly so, with a depth of flavor that suggests a carefully curated blend of spices and the freshest ingredients. It's a warmth that comforts and excites your palate, making each burrito an adventure in itself. The Ultimate Burrito ExperienceCombining the best bacon I've ever tasted with the exemplary chile, Stripes Burrito crafts a burrito experience that is unparalleled. Each burrito is a testament to the chef's dedication to flavor and quality. The ingredients meld together in a symphony of flavors, each bite a delightful surprise. The tortillas, fresh and soft, are the perfect canvas for the vibrant fillings.A Welcoming AtmosphereBeyond the food, the atmosphere at Stripes Burrito adds to the overall experience. The staff's welcoming nature and the cozy, inviting ambiance make you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you arrive hungry and leave with a contented smile and plans to return. In ConclusionIn summary, Stripes Burrito is more than a dining destination; it's a culinary journey that you'll want to embark on repeatedly. The bacon and chile are not just ingredients here; they are stars that shine bright, making Stripes Burrito a must-visit for anyone seeking a burrito experience that transcends the ordinary. Highly recommended!“

“Only suggestion is the checking in process which is an easy fix with a sign that states "please wait to be seated or sit yourself". Otherwise great place, good atmosphere, staff are super friendly. Food was delicious. If you're a red vs green person...neither are hot in my opinion but the red is just so tasty. If you love spicy food as I do then ask your server for the hottest thing they got...promise they are tasty ;)“
