“I recently visited Buffalo, NY, and my son took me to his favorite Italian restaurant, Mulberry Italian Ristorante. I have to say this place was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious, with portions that were not just big, but BIG, BIG! Our server was exceptional, always smiling and pleasant, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. However, I now have a bit of a dilemma. The food at Mulberry’s was so good that it ruined my experience at my favorite Italian restaurant back home in Maine for me. The portions there now seem small, and the flavors just don’t compare. I’m genuinely angry at how good Mulberry’s is because now I’ll have to travel 556 miles to get their amazing Chicken Parmigiano or Lasagna. If you’re ever in Buffalo, do yourself a favor and visit Mulberry’s. Just be warned, it might spoil your experience at your current favorite Italian restaurant!“

“A friend and I had an after church lunch at the Barrel this past Sunday The food as always was great Our server was patient and gracious. We who are older appreciate that kindness greatly.“

“The food was amazing. Started with the bread (kinda hate having to pay for bread but I get it! And this was good stuff) and shrimp scampi. Followed by two pastas. The food itself was absolutely delicious, light but flavorful and balanced. The short rib ragu was top notch.

One caveat, don't plan on a quick meal. This two course night took almost two hours but was worth it.

“A MUST visit! This place have one of the BEST pizzas I have ever tried.
I asked for a Hawaiian pizza and was served to perfect, amazing cheese quality and sauce, perfect amount of ham and pineapple. The dough was very well cooked with the crispy around! Simply delicious!
But the One who has the final medal is the owner/chef. He was such a friendly and charismatic vibe, very respectful and servicial, he gave us tons of recommendations of what to do or where to go for Niagara Falls visit . We will definitely come back and bring more people to this amazing place. Thank you!!“

“I relocated to Buffalo about a year ago and this place has become one of my favorite for sure. Portions are great, flavor is really good and prices are decent plus service is always great as well. I’ve gone with different people as I felt I just had to introduce them to the Blue Cave. Everyone was amazed at the quality of the food! I have also recommended this restaurant to other friends and they have loved it! I am a huge cheese lover and you can just taste the freshness of the cheeses used. The service was efficient and friendly and I was not lacking for a thing. I enjoyed taking in the view of the downtown area while savoring my delicious wine and meal. “What a great restaurant!! The food was phenomenal! I had my birthday dinner at Bella Ciao and I was very impressed. The Lobster Mafalde was loaded with lobster and so delicious. The Rice Balls were out of this world. The Peanut Butter pie was the best I ever had. Also, Casey, the Manager was so accommodating and personable. She just couldn't do enough for us. The staff is always warm, helpful and professional in their approach. They know how fine dining should be.

The bar staff is also well trained and they offer a variety of craft cocktails and a nice wine selection as well.

The food is obviously the main attraction and they never disappoint. I've had many of their dishes but some of my favorites are:
Ahi Tuna Crudo
Broiled Oysters
Fazzoletto (never had rabbit this tender and delicious)
Branzino
Of course the bone in Ribeye

Finish off with an espresso martini (best in the city).

Yes, the prices are a bit high for Buffalo, however remember this is fine dining and in my opinion they are very reasonably priced for a restaurant of this caliber.

“As always, Mangia does not disappoint. Our only critique is the service time. We waited ages for our drinks, for our server to take our order and had to get up and request the bill long after we had finished dessert. The service itself was great, friendly and professional. Food was delicious. The tortellini is the underdog as our server noted, it has a light cream sauce and crispy meat—filling yet light.

We also enjoyed the pistachio cheesecake paired with the vanilla ice cream and wow, what a delight!

“This place is an old school Italian restaurant that has been family owned and operated since it opened in 1946. The building is quite a bit older than that though and served as a movie theater before it became a restaurant. Also, the 1980 James Caan film, Hide in Plain Sight, which took place and was filmed in Buffalo had some scenes filmed at this restaurant. Anyways this place is very simple. You walk in and there are several red and white checkered table clothed tables and an older looking bar that is fully stocked. They also have a good sized flat screen TV up on the wall above the bar that you can watch. From the bar you can see a very small and simple looking kitchen area where they home make all of the food.“

“Great lunch! I ordered the meatball parm sandwich. I really appreciated that the meatballs and sauce were not overdone with seasoning. The seasoning complemented rather than dominated. The sandwich comes with a pickle spear and a choice of potato salad or macaroni salad. I chose the latter. The mac salad was very tasty. My biggest pleasure was the dill pickle. It was terrific - crunchy and not overwhelmed by the spices or vinegar. It was more akin to the store-bought Clausen brand pickle. Well done!“

But there is a little something on the outside of the calamari that makes it delicious. The aioli is lovely as well. “Been coming to Carte Blanche for about a year now periodically while in the area for work. Always make a point to stop by every time I'm in town. Food is great and a good value for the quality. Bartenders are knowledgeable and will go out of their way whether making a drink from their rotating menu for whatever you are in the mood for. Delaney is one of my favorite bartenders and is always willing to help with selections if you want something outside of the menu options.“
