“Decent price, fast service, and fresh ingredients. I had the veggie banh mi; the bread was light, making it a healthy and satisfying sandwich with delicious herbs on it. The place it constantly busy. You can eat your food standing up on the side.“

“Very unique Vietnamese restaurant, the dishes are not like anything you'll find even in the edgier restaurants in NYC. I found the food very interesting, and I'm glad I tried it, but the flavors blended together, it lacked distinctiveness. The food is pretty shareable. The low tables on the sidewalk are cute, but didn't look very comfortable“

“EXCELLENT Vietnamese food. Best in the neighborhood and many more unique offerings than I see at most Vietnamese restaurants. I am very appreciative to the staff at Banh for being so kind and accommodating. I placed a delivery order through Square and there was an issue due to an error on Relay (the delivery app). It was not at all the fault of the restaurant but they still resent my order at no additional cost. They are wonderful!“

“i have been on the hunt for the perfect pate banh mi in manhattan and so far this is the winner! excellent sandwich, love the flavor of the pickled veggies, it has the crispiest bread ever, and theres even seating.
watch out with that crispy bread though! i personally liked it, but it is so crispy that i felt as if it cut the insides of my mouth.“

“Great local pho spot. Crispy spring rolls and rib eye summer rolls are delicious! Great way to start before my signature pho. There’s a method to my madness when mixing my pho but the base brother is excellent, deep and flavorful but still light.“

“Ordered the grilled chicken thigh sandwich, beef summer rolls, & taro milk tea.
Grilled chicken thigh was juicy & flavorful, highly recommend.
(We ordered the pork bbq as well, it was sweet and packed with flavors)
It was huge & good bread to veggies-meat ratio.
The summer rolls would be better with shrimp instead of beef because the beef was cold but the rolls were still refreshing & hug. It comes out as 2 long rolls instead of the small 4 pieces one.
The taro milk tea was mid.
Hopefully they have a dine in option because their food is really good, they’re not stingy with their ingredients. Highly recommend.
They only take food to go, either come with a car or eat at the park nearby.“

“I had their takeout so can't review the atmosphere but their food was the bomb! We had the free range chicken pho which was delicious! Light but flavorful. The chicken pieces were a mix of white and dark but not the chewy dark pieces. I also was not super thirsty right after the meal which means they don't use MSG or any other chemicals to enhance the flavor. We also got their summer rolls which super fresh and so delicious.
Packaging of the food was super tight and thoughtful- no spills.
Def will be ordering again!“

“Classic mom-and-pop style Pho spot. Although there’s a lot of elevated viet restaurants in NYC, sometimes I just prefer the laidback atmosphere and traditional dishes a mom-and-pop shop offers. Their pho broth is delicious and makes you wanting more. I also really like their calamari dish. Highly recommend.“

“Saigon Social is an amazing Vietnamese restaurant in the LES of Manhattan. Owned and operated by Helen Nguyen who uses her wonderful restaurant to prepare food for those in need for various organizations in NYC. She is a wonderful person and an amazing chef using her classical training to prepare amazingly authentic and forward thinking Vietnamese dishes. It’s a must visit!!!!“

“I had the beef pho, and it was tasty. The broth was flavorful, meat was tender, and I absolutely devoured it. (If you’ve never had pho, the beef is rare at first, but it cooks in the soup. That’s why it’s pink in the photo). The two friends I went with both ordered the chicken pho which they also loved.
I docked one star because the restaurant was sooo busy on the Monday evening when we went. We waited outside for 40 minutes, and I was getting hangry. In my opinion if you just want a plain bowl of beef or chicken pho it might be worth it to go somewhere less busy. As for their more specialized dishes, I would have to go back to try them!“

“I love this place, it’s my top 3 Viet restaurant in NYC. The flavor is very authentic to Vietnamese growing up in the south like me.
With my recent visit, I have a few critiques:
- Oc len xao dua: it was mussels and not snails. I know you guys noted that down in the menu but I still feel bothered by it. Also the mussels doesnt really go well with the coconut sauce. I think you guys should remove that dish from the menu (you guys have better dishes on the menu!)
- Pho ga: the pho itself is on the sweeter side, which is not my preference. The lemon/green sauce was very sweet and tastes weird. We even asked the waitress to confirm if it's supposed to taste sweet like that and she said yes. I think you guys can do better with the sauce, or just do without it. Ems in 86 did the Pho Ga really well tho.
The rest of the food was really good, especially the Bo Luc Lac and Lemongrass clams. I didn't get the Bo Kho this time but definitely highly recommend!“

“We came here for dinner and we loved the food! I ordered the DAC BIET 55/PP because I wanted the lemongrass beef skewers with a bunch of small dishes; loved the flavors and presentation. My friend had the chicken pho and the broth was so good.
The location is super easy to get to, just a 2 min walk from the Morgan stop and a minute walk to Moondog HiFi.
The only thing I want to address is the noise level is unbearable. This is an ongoing issue for NYC restaurants and no one seems to care.
Restaurant owners, please take that into consideration when you design your next restaurant.“

“Such a cute spot! TLDR: great sandwich, customer service, value
I was craving a bahn mi while downtown and stumbled upon this shop. The spicy shredded chicken sandwich was divine. The chicken was tender, the veggies were crisp, and it was the perfect amount of spice. The bread was crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside - perfect for bahn mi!!
It was a great value for the portion size in this neighborhood.
The person who helped me at the register was very polite and kind! Definitely great customer service.
It’s definitely more of a “hole-in-the-wall” kind of place, but seems like a well kept secret. Will def have to come back and try the bubble tea combo.
Thanks Henry’s!!!“

“We walked in for a to go order, we had the beed and chicken banmi
Pro: beef bami was nice, it was my first time to try banmi, it was also refreshing with the cucumber and some other veggies in there
Pro: chicken banmi, i like the flavor, i prefer this more than the beef and the meat was generous
Cons: chicken was dry
Cons: beef could have added more beef
I would go back and buy the chicken banmi again.“

“Fast service that doesn’t sacrifice quality. New place in the area that was surprisingly delicious. Pho has good broth, meats are flavored, it comes out right away boiling hot so you can flip it and cook it properly. I recommend dine in if you want pho because that’s the best way to eat it but it was still good as takeout.
Edit: I moved away from here a few months ago and I miss it every time I eat Pho somewhere else. This place was so flavorful that it put a lot of other places to shame.“

“Pho is very very delicious! This is probably the best pho I have eaten recently. I recommend the Special Pho which has tripe in it. I have visited many times. The soup is very sweet but not the kind of MSG soup that will make your mouth dry. The rice noodles are also very chewy and have no strange taste. The beef is also delicious and not dry. I think the beef balls are just average. The spring rolls and seafood soup are also very ordinary, I recommend eating Pho. However, it is currently closed for inside use and only for takeout.“

“There was a pho Hanoi place in Manhattan that closed down during pandemic, for years there hasn’t been a good Hanoi pho place in Manhattan. To my surprise, I saw this place on uber eats, didn’t hesitate to try it out. Hanoi pho has a special place in my heart since I spent 1/3of my life there. The flavor is a bit on the weaker side but with the fresh noodle and crispy quay, they’ve earned the 5 stars. I didnt have nuoc mam at home, but if i did I would put a lil bit more just to complete the savory balance.
Can’t wait to try it at the resto with the Banh mi.“

“Small place for takeout. Was craving bahn mi and got bbq pork. Pork was really tasty. would get without mayo next time given fatty pork. Pickled carrots were not very or at all pickled (which the sandwich really needed). I’ve had a lot of banh mis and can’t tell you what is authentic or not but not my favorite type of bread. It’s like an old school French bread. Yes there is a crust but it’s not crusty. So no real crunch from crust, more chewy. Not my favorite style. Not sure about trying other things. Could not find the words “nước chấm” anywhere…“

“Only 4 1/2 stars due to lack of bathroom. Can't eat anywhere without having access to one.
Got take out food today for the first time. I am no expert on Viet sandwiches but this one today was the BEST I've had. It was served warm which made a huge difference to me. Stuffed with all sorts of good things. Also had dumplings and mock duck w/basil. Everything really delicious. Highly recommend for take out. Not super cheap but worth it now and then.“

Tofu Curry – A great balance of flavors with just the right level of spice.
The staff – Super friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall great experience.
Happy Hour – Their $5 wine deal is unbeatable!
The best part? The jazz music and modern vibe, setting it apart from traditional Vietnamese spots.“

“Came for the pho but was pleasantly surprised by the banh mi sandwich. The baguette is crisp and soft, with flavorful fillings like grilled pork or chicken. The pho is also pretty good, especially the brisket which is tender. Prices are reasonable, with sandwiches around $10 and pho $12-15. Service is efficient, and the restaurant is cozy and clean.“

“Walked in off the street after a workout, and ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and BBQ pork banh mi. Both were excellent, service was friendly, and I’ll definitely be back for their spicy lover banh mi! The pricing is what it should be, not like these other gentrified spots serving $20 inauthentic sandwiches.“

“The experience was very cozy, relaxed, no-rush, and memorable. We took the risk of going down the stairs into the dark, non descript restaurant on a cold, breezy day. It was a pleasant surprise to find the ambience and service so pleasant. I'll surely try there evening Jazz sometime soon.“

“Around 6:30 in the evening on weekdays, the store is almost full, business is pretty good, and the store also takes a lot of takeout orders.
The two of us ordered a bowl of mixed beef pho, a fried spring roll and a pork bun, and were very satisfied with everything. The fried spring rolls were very hot when they were freshly fried. They were crispy on the outside and filled with minced pork. They were delicious with the dipping sauce. There are three pork buns in a portion, and the fillings are crispy pork belly, pickled radish and sweet noodle sauce. This combination is unexpectedly harmonious and very satisfying. It is my favorite. The beef rice noodles contain beef tendons, beef slices and beef balls. There is not much meat but a lot of rice noodles. The soup is sweet and has a bit of Chinese medicine. It is just right for two people to share a bowl.“
