at a friend’s recommendation. Our waiter Rowin was attentive, accommodating and made the experience delightful. We came at 6:30pm on a Friday and was surprised they had a reduced price “happy hour” for Margaritas and beer til 7.
We ordered the cheesy dip with bacon bits and chips as an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS!!! For dinner we had the smash burger and quesadilla with steak and mushrooms. Both were yummy. They have a good drink menu, though not too many wine choices. In addition to Rowin, I appreciated the attentiveness of the owner who stopped by as well as the bartender who made sure to greet us coming and going. I will definitely return.“

“Ive been coming here since it opened, the food is very good and its good for both large groups or if you just want to sit and have a beer and and a couple of tacos. I recommend the tacos gobernadores and if you’re here for brunch the enchiladas jarochas are great.“

“I have to deduct one star for having QR-Code-Only menus for brunch (more on that below), but otherwise this is a fantastic spot that I can't recommend enough.

Came here for brunch with my wife over the weekend while our car was at Pep Boys, and we dined at the bar. The bartender was extremely attentive and the food and drinks were delicious.

The only hiccup is that they don't have printed menus for brunch (or for many of their cocktails). This is annoying for a number of well-established reasons:
1) I come to a restaurant to get away from screen time, please don't make me get onto my phone
2) What happens if someone in the party doesn't have a phone? My wife didn't bring hers — see #1.
3) On a phone screen, menus are tiny and annoying to navigate.

The bartender was kind enough to loan us his phone so that we could order, but this was embarrassing and awkward and the restaurant shouldn't have put the bartender into the position of needing to hand his phone over to the guests.

Luckily this was the only hiccup of the day!

I don't drink alcohol, and was quite happy to discover several zero-proof spirit options behind the bar — though ultimately I asked the bartender if he could make a michelada with Tamarind Jarritos, and he did. This was a spur-of-the-moment idea for me, so I was absolutely thrilled when the bartender accommodated my weird request — and the drink turned out delicious!

My wife got a standard beer michelada, which was also tasty (I had a sip).

From there we had a breakfast burrito and chilaquiles, and both were just stand-out dishes, delicious. Food arrived quickly. Staff was incredibly friendly, and just so attentive.

In 2026 it often feels like responsive restaurant staff is a thing of the past, but that's obviously not the case at Chela.

If they just had optional printed brunch menus, this place would be perfect — and given how great everything else was, we very well might endure the QR-Code annoyance again soon.“

“Esse Taco keeps things simple, and it works. I tried the chicken taco — juicy, well-seasoned, and served on a fresh tortilla that held everything together nicely. The flavors were balanced without being overcomplicated, letting the quality of the ingredients stand out.
The space is small and casual with mostly standing tables, but service is quick and the focus is clearly on the food. A solid spot if you’re looking for a straightforward, well-executed taco.“

This spot fully delivered. We ordered the birria quesadilla and the Al pastor chicken bowl with horchata and Jamaica water. Everything blew our mind away! From the meat, to the salsas, and the smaller details like the handmade tortilla and seasoned rice, this place will be my go to moving forward. “Great place! I went for brunch and got myself some chilaquiles and a michelada, the perfect hangover combo.

The chilaquiles were the real deal, like the ones I had in Mexico, perhaps a bit spicy, but that was part of the experience. Buenísimos.

Shout out to Beto at the bar too. He’s such a friendly guy.

“My friend and I visited Elnico Rooftop on 5/19/26 on a hot spring evening, and we had such a wonderful experience. The sunset views were absolutely beautiful. I had heard that earlier in the spring season some of the surrounding buildings can block the sun at certain angles, but now that it’s later in the summer, the sunset is much more visible. Even before the sun fully set, we were treated to a stunning pink and purple skyline that made the evening feel extra special. I also loved the pastel, modern décor and furniture throughout the rooftop, it gave the space a stylish yet relaxing feel. Combined with the open layout and fresh air, it created a bright, airy ambiance that was perfect for unwinding. The guacamole was fresh and delicious, with just the right hint of spice. I ordered the short rib entrée, which was incredibly tender and flavorful, and it came with tortillas and salsa that paired perfectly with it. The potato and yucca puree was to die for. The cocktails were refreshing, well-balanced, and full of flavor, and we even appreciated the small ice cubes in the drinks. We had. We had a pineapple on punch, prickly sour with tequila and a prickly margarita.. I wished the cocktails could be a little bit stronger. The rooftop itself is spacious, wasn’t overcrowded during our visit, and the R&B music added to the great atmosphere. The venue is dog-friendly, which is a nice touch, although I think having a designated area for dogs would make the experience even better, especially on windy days when fur can travel near other tables. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks, views, and ambiance, and I would definitely return for another visit.“

“Where do I start? The food was on point. The tacos have a hearty feel to them. They dont fall apart and the flavor melts in your mouth. The appetizers are all good. They all pair well with the drink selections. Signature drinks are well curated and thoughtful. The ambiance is bring a friend, a date, some friends and come have a good time. Hospitality is top notch and professional always. I would definitely be back for another night on the town. Thank my cousin for suggesting this place. Cantina 138 needs to be put on the map!

“We came here after my wife’s aunt just passed away and she was about to head home to put down her childhood dog. Server saw her crying and started feeding us shots and didnt charge us for them. Servers are people and they understood our general sadness. 11/10 would come back again just because the service was great, not because of the few free shots.

“Stopped by on a lazy Sunday afternoon and ended up enjoying one of the most comforting meals I’ve had in a while. The tortilla soup completely stole the show — rich, flavorful, perfectly thick, and packed with crispy blue corn tortilla pieces in every bite. Honestly wished they had a bigger bowl because it disappeared fast.

Tried the bean & epazote tetelas on the side and they paired so well with the soup. Also shared the black bean avocado tlayudita and chilaquiles — both fresh, satisfying, and full of flavor. The chilaquiles do get a bit pricey once you add the extras, but the taste made it worth it for us.

Came around 2 PM on a Sunday and still found outdoor seating easily, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and unhurried. Great food, warm atmosphere, and one of those places you leave already thinking about coming back to.“

The presentation stood out right away, from the clay cup cocktails with the spicy rim to the branded burger bun and rustic serving boards. The shrimp taco was fresh and flavorful, with bright peppers, herbs, and lime that made every bite pop. The burger and fries were also excellent juicy, filling, and served with a nice crispy side of fries.
The vibe inside was warm, lively, and full of personality, with fun décor and a cozy bar setup. The drink menu had creative signature options, and the cocktail El cantarito I tried was refreshing with the perfect spicy kick. “Legitimately some of the best chilaquiles I've ever had! Just the right amount of spice, plenty of sauce, perfectly cooked eggs, some tortilla chips crispy and some soft. Absolutely delicious, as were the rice and beans served with it! My waitress was super sweet and patient, and the decor in the restaurant is cheery and fun to look at. Will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area!

ETA: Also, prices were super reasonable. Chilaquiles with two eggs, rice and beans included, was 14 bucks. Also got a limonada and total with tip was around 22 dollars. So worth it!“

I had the chicken mole tamale and not only was it delicious, but it was also quite filling. Will definitely come more often (and earlier) so I can try all the other varieties.“

I’m especially a fan of how flavorful the rice and beans are, which can be pretty flat at many other places in my experience. They make their sauces in house which makes them stand out as well. “Came here with my best friend to catch up and we had a great time. The atmosphere is beautiful and the music is at the level to still be able to hold a conversation. My friend arrived before me and ordered us two margaritas and a beer to catch the happy hour prices. Then we tried the happy hour tacos. We had one of each, mushroom Al Pastor, Tinga and carnitas. I think the Al pastor isn’t bad just not my favorite vegetarian taco I’ve tried. Then the tinga surprised me - it’s actually very good and tastes very similar to what I grew up eating at home. My favorite was the carnitas taco. The tacos with the chile de árbol salsa or salsa macha is a great blend.
Then I ordered the carnitas gorditas and they were amazing - the Gordita was made made perfectly - I prefer a more crunchy Gordita than a fluffy one. My friend tried the sticky wings - they were cooked extra crispy like we asked for but the flavor wasn’t bad it was unexpected - there’s chamoy in their sauce, while they’re not bad wings they’re not great either.
The yuzu spritz truly stood out- very refreshing

The food was excellent, however the portions are small, so if you are looking for a main course, get something larger. My sister ordered an appetizer and was still hungry later.“
