at a friend’s recommendation. Our waiter Rowin was attentive, accommodating and made the experience delightful. We came at 6:30pm on a Friday and was surprised they had a reduced price “happy hour” for Margaritas and beer til 7.
We ordered the cheesy dip with bacon bits and chips as an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS!!! For dinner we had the smash burger and quesadilla with steak and mushrooms. Both were yummy. They have a good drink menu, though not too many wine choices. In addition to Rowin, I appreciated the attentiveness of the owner who stopped by as well as the bartender who made sure to greet us coming and going. I will definitely return.“

“I love Jajaja's menu and vegan and gluten free options. I had one disappointing experience which was the quite expensive “dinosaur kale” salad was used with a different kale. It sounds petty, but it's like ordering spinach and getting mustard greens. They should keep the ingredients as described. Otherwise, really nice service and ambience.“

“Run, don't walk! Visiting from the Hudson Valley for a day trip, and my wife & I are foodies. With a hungry 10 year old tyrant in tow, we took our son to the park across the street and killed an hour before wearily stumbling into Miatzil.

First off, on a Tuesday to be dead at 6pm is a crime! The Happy Hour here exceeds anything I've ever seen. $18 for 4 tacos & a cocktail (1 of 3 choices.)

The service is friendly & attentive, the food is wonderful & the spice level is up there with some of my favorite Oaxacan venues down in Mexico.

This hidden gem in plain sight deserves all of the love from the Park Slope community.

“Run here, to eat ASAP, you won’t be disappointed.

We went here for my friend’s birthday and coincidentally it was restaurant week. We initially thought of ordering from the regular menu, and we did order a couple things from there but then we decided to give the restaurant week menu a try - we didn’t regret it!
Our waitress was wonderful, the manager was so attentive and the atmosphere was great, it was one of the coldest nights in NYC so it was a little nippy, whenever the door opened (a nice thick curtain by the door might really help with that). That is literally the only complaint that we had, which wasn’t even their fault really because we haven’t had such cold winters in years.

The margaritas were perfect!!

The corn on the cob is truly the best that I’ve had. I used to love getting a pick up order of corn on the cob from Cafe Habana, that will not be happening again. Chela is my go to spot for the Elote from now on!!!

The New shrimp tacos with grilled shrimp were the bomb, all the ingredients complemented each other perfectly.

The meat tacos from the restaurant week menu (not sure what they are on the regular menu) were finger licking good!

The octopus appetizer from restaurant week had a nice kick to it, it refreshed your palette nicely.

The Chela ribs need to be in my belly on a monthly basis!

The Suiza enchiladas were so yummy and sauce was so creamy and on point!

Tres leches is my jam and so happy they had it on the restaurant week menu!
The tamarind Flan was delicious.

All the portions were very generous. We left completely stuffed and extremely satisfied. We plan to go back here to try everything on the menu and then keep on coming back to enjoy all the things that we loved best.

I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, big or small, or no reason at all. Come here if you want good food.

I was at a bar in Greenpoint, and locals told the tacos were the best in the area! I had to try.

“I lived in Chicago for like 15 years and Chicago by-and-large has better Mexican food than New York. This is one of the first spots I've hit that really impressed me. Really enjoyed the food and the vibes were nice. We shared guacamole which was excellent, really well seasoned and with great texture. “Where do I start? The food was on point. The tacos have a hearty feel to them. They dont fall apart and the flavor melts in your mouth. The appetizers are all good. They all pair well with the drink selections. Signature drinks are well curated and thoughtful. The ambiance is bring a friend, a date, some friends and come have a good time. Hospitality is top notch and professional always. I would definitely be back for another night on the town. Thank my cousin for suggesting this place. Cantina 138 needs to be put on the map!

“Me and my friend had a great experience dining at elNico on a very cold Thursday bight in January. All the dishes we tried were tasty and flavorful from the elote to the guac & chips, the cauliflower tacos were amazing, the main fish dish (it was fried cod) really good. We also enjoyed their version of margarita. Nice and kind server, Bryceon and manager Arianna.

The winterhouse set up outside was cool but way too cold to be there.

The decor is wildly eccentric — there’s an ice cream shop setup that never seems to be active, these indoor-patio-type structures, and a whole bar world in the back I’ve still never explored. You even pay at what looks like a candy-shop counter. It’s just fantastic.

It’s also almost always empty, which I truly don’t understand, because the food is great. The menu is mostly classic Mexican fare, but nearly every dish I’ve tried has some unique little twist that shows they’re really putting in the work.

“In a little deli looking storefront is nenes. Smallish spot but big flavor!Prepare to wait at least 20 mins for your order. I was happy i got to finally try their birria pizza with their consomme ($26). Easily can feed 4 people. Its cut into 8 slices but the average person can probably eat 2 slices.
Its 3 cheesy 12 to 14 in. tortillas packed with birria and guacamole, layered and toasted to perfection. The one time we didn't take a picture because we were so hungry after a long day, we just wanted to eat. They have a simple menu with tacos, quesadillas and even combo meals. All are worth trying.
Prices are very fair and especially for birria. Theres a small seating area like 6 chairs max for those who want to eat there. I prefer to have at home.
