“The chicken was truly enjoyable, and I appreciate the effort put into the preparation. Perhaps a touch more salt for myself would have been perfect. I found the dish to be satisfying overall, with a delightful texture. The culinary experience presented was certainly a positive one. Furthermore, I would really enjoy just a cuttlefish dish. It would be a welcome addition to the menu. I am looking forward to future dining experiences.“

“Absolutely insane. Ambiance is killer, everything everywhere. Real calm sometimes..cozy! Extremely fast service. Extremely considerate service. So extremely affordable! Braised pork is perfect, lunch special comes with rice a lil greens and egg. I love the pumpkin potsticker, they got a Carribbean curry flavor! Housemate drinks are a dollar, and there's plenty of options.“

“We had our wedding reception in the private space in the back, and everything was incredible! Paul was great to work with, and the food came out perfect, getting complements not just from the American side of the family, but the Taiwanese side as well!“
“The first time we tried Formosa in Prospect Heights, we ordered pork dumplings, veggie dumplings, chicken, and popcorn chicken. The veggie dumplings were the standout — really tasty — but the order still took about 40 minutes for takeout.
We gave it another try today and ordered just veggie dumplings, and it still took 35 minutes. They need to work on their speed for sure. It’s not a sit-down type of place — it feels more like a fast-food spot — so waiting that long just doesn’t make sense. The food is good, but not “wait around that long” good.“

“I use to come here all the time since it opened around 2018, food there has not changed one bit, still amazingly good and simple. Even though there is almost no one dinning in, their customer service is still great and very kind. This place is 100% worth checking out and to get lunch or dinner from.“

“Got the veggie dumplings & the seasonal burger dumplings with the scallion ginger rice and it was all really really great! Friendly service and a cute/chill atmosphere. So crazy to me that the past few times i’ve walked by it’s been super empty. It’s definitely worth the stop!!“

“It’s a cute place! I appreciate that it has seating. Plus the food+ drink combo options are nice! They have a bunch of drink options, but my friend and I opted for a Brown Sugar Milk tea and a Mango Green tea. The mango green tea wasn’t what I expected! As it had a lot of mango pulp and less of the refreshing tea vibe I expected. Also my friend’s milk tea was quite diluted and mostly tasted of the milk.“

“Solid 4 star. It was cramped with 5 employees. Not a sit down. It's a hole in the wall shop. I ordered the pork with pickle veggies. It's a classic item. I liked it but was not a fan of mayonnaise. There was mayonnaise in the middle. Before buying, ask if they use any sauces. If I knew there was mayonnaise I would tell them to leave it out. Then the rice roll will be good.“

“This was probably the most spacious and cleanest restaurant/store on 8th ave from my experience. We tried signature icy taro bowl and the hot almond soup. Loved the icy taro bowl and all the toppings on it. The chewiness balanced out the sweetness. However, I don’t recommend the hot almond soup (or anything with almond soup base). It was not good, and tasted nasty to be frank. We couldn’t even finish it. Not sure if the soup base was just almond milk but it tasted really weird.“

“If you are into Chinese style steak this spot is great. Chinese style steak isnt focus on beef's flavor but overall flavor with the sauce included. I think the black pepper sauce complemented the dish well and was really tasty. My only doubt is the steak was extremely juicy like that of USDA prime grade steak which shouldn't have been possible given that I only spent 29 for the plate. I'm pretty sure they used some dark technology but since it is all speculation no knock against them.“

“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!“
