It’s a Michelin restaurant so I don’t know if it’s ok to have the front desk serving food. We also heard the chef yelling in the kitchen when we were dining there which I do not appreciate. I would only come back for their entrees, nothing else.“

ever since then coming back here has become a tradition.
8 years on and the spot is still just as warm and welcoming, albeit way more busy which is incredible to see because the place deserves to thrive. easily my fav spot in the city (i fully blame the ricotta pancakes).
i haven’t been to nyc in years but coming back here today felt like coming home in so many ways.

Their Dutch baby “Primadonna” pancake and lobster roll are to die for. Much of what is on the menu it’s imported from Italy of the finest ingredients. It’s always fun to take the ferry across from Manhattan to the Pepsi Cola Sign and walk a couple of blocks. “I booked Dinner Party for my husband’s milestone birthday and hosted 36 friends by reserving the entire restaurant for 2.5 hours. I coordinated with the team from a month in advance, and they were all wonderful to work with. Everything ran smoothly and exactly as planned.

The food was delicious, the space was cozy, and it truly felt like an intimate dinner party at home. The five course tasting menu was served as cocktail style bites and was perfect for the evening. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their other menus.“

“Florentin, a Mediterranean gem on Amsterdam Avenue, understands something essential: that hunger is both physical and aesthetic. Florentin offers the kind of Mediterranean cooking that makes you remember why we gather around tables in the first place.

The Florentin salad arrives like a small rebellion against November chill. The light green shishito peppers—prepared in some novel way the kitchen won’t quite reveal—manage to be both familiar and different. The sea bass is respectfully handled. The steak frites is what steak frites aspires to be in its dreams.

Service here operates with a quiet competence that’s increasingly rare. The staff listens.

I suggested they consider live music—a jazz singer, perhaps someone with Juliet Ewing’s smoky presence. The waitress seemed receptive. Every restaurant is a work in progress, after all. We build our pleasures incrementally, adjusting as we go.

“One of my favorite places now to eat Latino food now in NYC!!!! Visited mast week and had the Frito Mixto and ate every single yuca they had!!! Everything tasted fresh and hand made. Also got the rice and beans with the black pepper beef and chicharrón. My favorite was the black pepper beef. Was so soft and tender. The chicharrón was good but had a lot of fat (chicharrón always has fat lol) for me. The parts of meat were actually really good. For drinks we got the Pandan and it was delicious. Definitely one of the best drinks I’ve had in a while. Will surely pass and eat at this place if around!!! Btw they had Karaoke too if interested!“

“Chose to have my father’s birthday here as a party of 4 and it was the best choice we made to try something new in the area! The appetizers of whipped ricotta and grilled shrimp were great to start off with and their bread was surprisingly very good.
For the main we tried the burgers, cod, and risotto and all of them were very delicious options. From the three the burger was the best in terms of flavor, portion, and price. The dark chocolate brownie was a great way to finish this meal and the staff helped make this moment special for a family birthday gathering. I highly recommend and will be coming back here soon!“

“A friend and I dined here over the weekend while visiting the city from WV. I wish I could remember our waiters name because he was an absolute gem. The food was amazing, as was the atmosphere and the service. My friend had the pork steak special and I had the trumpet mushrooms. “I recently had the pleasure of stopping by Dilly Dally for brunch and it was one of the best stops I’ve made in a long time. On the immensely popular Vanderbilt Ave., it’s a standout - a remarkable fact since it’s one the newest establishments to grace said Avenue. Its charming exterior is as inviting as the space itself. Vibrant natural lighting, eclectic music, and art laden walls give it the comfort of a home…which (I believe) is key for a neighborhood establishment. My experience was guided perfectly by the kind, warm, and knowledgeable staff. Attracted by their unique components, I went with the savory breakfast burrito (chorizo/crispy potatoes/hatch green chile) followed by the sweet griddled blueberry corn muffin (whipped butter, strawberry preserves). Both prove to be deliciously creative takes on two breakfast/brunch staples. By nailing a couple of classics, I know they’ll nail the rest. With that, I truly look forward to going back to explore the rest of their menu soon (including dinner, of course) and so should you.“

“The Christmas dinner was lovely. The citrus sauce for the tuna crudo was so good I could have eaten it with a spoon. The shrimp cocktail had enormous prawns. Tasty and not tough. The halibut was done to perfection with a delicate sauce. The steak was precisely medium rare, and tender. Our server Dennis couldn't have been more attentive and charming. We will definitely be coming back. As charming as the restaurant is, the price point is a bit high to make it a weekly neighborhood dining experience. But we will be back.“
