“I have been a customer of Austin’s Ale House for many years, I know them well they know me well. This year I decided to give the excellent and highly favored family cooking team a break and had Austin’s Ale House cater our Christmas Dinner. I went with the ham dinner for 10 to feed 7 people🤣. The ordering was done with ease and so was the pick up. The family did a preliminary tasting...... LOVED .IT and whatever we have left after the “taste test” will have to serve as our Christmas Dinner. Since the taste test was so aggressive we may need to supplement what’s left with a few cheese omelets 🤣. We enjoyed it so much there was much talk about it becoming the new family tradition. “Lingo was the perfect choice for a special celebration. I brought my daughter here and the night was great. It’s a beautiful space, genuinely warm and personable staff, and excellent Japanese-inflected food with a creative twist.

We did have one miss: the ribs were too fatty for our taste. But here's where Lingo service stepped in. Without any fuss, they took the dish off the bill and were so gracious about it. That kind of hospitality is rare and says a lot about how they run their restaurant.

Every dish was honestly great, so excited to go back to try their other stuff, but the beef longganisa and ube ko achar I would def order again in a heartbeat. The sauce for the gnocchi and the skewer were 10/10. Also, their Green Leaf drink with pandan - SO GOOD.

My favorite desserts are literally silvanas and cheese ice cream, so it’s def their own version of these classic Filipino desserts, but satisfied with how they interpreted them.

We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“Margie’s is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor of the Rockaway Hotel. It’s very nostalgic to locals as it was built where the Rockaway staple known as Gallagher, Snug Harbor and Daltons once stood before the beautiful hotel was built. Margie’s serves up some great food including an excellent variety of prime steak cuts. Their cocktails are excellent and one must taste their staple Irish Coffee which is fantastic. Margie’s and the entire Rockaway Hotel have always been an amazing experience.“

“Solid breakfast burritos and great tortillas, which are like gold here. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu yet, but it’s just a matter of time - the salads look awesome. I moved here from Texas a year ago and love everything about the city (except for the rent), but I do miss Tex Mex and good tortillas. New Mexican is its own cuisine and sure hits the spot while also being healthier, and those tortillas are a game changer. “My friends and I had a lovely afternoon at The Rockaway Hotel Pool house. We were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess, Isabella, who made us feel so welcomed. Our beautiful table was in the perfect spot to take in all of what the Rockaway Hotel has to offer. The outside bar and Pool house are exquisite. The pool was bustling with excitement. On the recommendation of our server, Tom, we ordered the sunchokes for an appetizer and cheeseburger and risotto for mains. Favorite bite of the night were the sunchokes with fresh parm and pepper sauce. The cheeseburger and risotto were also outstanding and generously portioned. For dessert, our server recommended an unforgettable parsnip sponge cake with a decadent heap of cream cheese buttercream. “This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“So far I’ve been there a few times, had the vegetarian version of the smash burger (Texas toast), tomato soup with grilled cheese, pancakes, and a few other things I can’t remember. Everything is always great, especially the smash burger.

A lot of vegetarian options and they’re all really good, from what I’ve had so far. I appreciate that. The vibe is cozy too.
